About Milestone Sober Living – Closed
Milestone Sober Living was located in Orange County, California. They’re permanently closed now, but they provided sober living homes at two locations for adult men and women who had completed drug and alcohol rehab. Homes were just minutes from Dana Point and Laguna Beach, giving residents easy access to coastal parks and beaches.
What the Homes Were Like
Milestone believed that real change starts in a place that feels safe and clean. That idea shaped how the homes looked and felt from the inside out. Everything was kept simple so residents could focus on their recovery.
Each home had common areas where residents could relax or catch a movie on the big screen TV. A house manager was always around, and basic things like on-site laundry, reliable internet and phone were available.
Inside the Sober Living Experience
Though the homes didn’t provide formal addiction treatment, they gave people in early sobriety a place to land after completing rehab. Everything was structured with a lot of routine and required attendance at 12-step support meetings.
Residents could lean on the house managers who had several years of sobriety, and on each other.
Though Milestone Sober Living is now closed, its impact lives on through the progress made by the individuals who found stability and support there. Orange County still offers a solid recovery community and plenty of resources and support for anyone working to rebuild their life after addiction.

Addiction Treatments
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
