So I didn’t know what to expect. From day 1 I felt welcomed & safe. Every last one of the managers were SO wonderful, helpful, caring, attentive and more importantly saved me. The facility is warm, comfortable & clean. All the meetings were insightful, inspirational & enlightening. I hated to move on but because of Shore Shores I am able to do it. Before coming here, I'd been to hospitals and treatment centers that felt more like jail cells than places of healing. What made South Shore different was the people and the environment. Every staff member truly cared about helping us recover. Instead of being locked down most of the day sitting in front of a TV, we participated in classes, went on outings, attended meetings, and learned about the disease of addiction and how to live a sober life. The home-like setting made a huge difference for me. It felt like living in a normal household, with doctors, nurses, and staff always there to keep everyone safe and provide support. That environment gave me the opportunity to focus on recovery instead of just getting through the day. I met so many people just like me, which showed me I wasn't alone and that long-term sobriety is truly achievable. To everyone at South Shore—thank you. I have never stayed sober this long in my life after years of substance abuse, and I genuinely owe so much of that success to this place. Inpatient care with the feel of home! I just spent six weeks in treatment with these wonderful people and I cannot speak highly enough to describe the care I received. Literally, from the first phone call, through treatment and discharge, my needs came first. The staff were amazing. The groups were relevant and extremely beneficial. Accomodations were very comfortable. Most important for me, I'm at home with 48 days of sobriety and I'm equipped with the tools necessary to have a great chance of staying that way. With a small group of only six clients, there was a strong sense of community, and I received plenty of personalized attention. The staff-to-client ratio is excellent, and I was able to have frequent one-on-one therapy sessions, along with support whenever I needed it. SCRC is an amazing recovery center ready to help you just like they helped me. Not only is it near the beach, where I had many long walks as I began my journey in sobriety, but everything they do is geared towards meeting you where you’re at and walking along side you. The staff is amazing, many of whom are on their own journey in sobriety, with the sincere desire to give back to those yearning for healing, change, and purpose. The sober houses are just what I needed and gave me the time and safe space to begin to change. Along with specific group time and counseling provided by the center, they encourage 12 step meetings, getting a sponsor and working the steps. It is through working the steps where I truly found the healing and change necessary to live sober and free. SCRC supported me all along the way providing the space and resources to entirety focus on my own walk in early sobriety. Upon arrival, I was greeted w compassion and empathy by all of the staff. My anxiety was immediately put to rest because the house felt like a home and safe place. The view from the house overlooking the pacific ocean is incredible. The food was amazing. Nickole is the queen of case mgmt and kept it real w me from the very beginning. She genuinely cares about her clients and their recovery journey as if it’s her own. Damien & Cody are super chill and attentive and willing to help. Mikayla is forever my Cali nurse twin 💓 and goes above and beyond for her clients. Kenny and Miles were such good active listeners but also gave good feedback and always tried to find solutions to problems promptly if they didn’t know the answer. Kenna picked me up from the airport and did my intake and we got our nails done together and had the best time on outings. She has a beautiful story of redemption from her active addiction and gives back freely to others. Joseph was the sweetest, kindest soul like a big teddy bear w a hard past but bright present and future. And last but not least.. Goblin was the best therapy dog (he plays the long game though when warming up to new people) ever! This place truly feels like a dysfunctional family and i loved my time spent here. From the time I made the decision to call them to get help, they have gone above and beyond to make my recovery possible, exciting, and successful. They have wonderful group facilitators that keep a constant theme of recovery, while creating a safe environment for clients to open up in group therapy. We get taken to many excellent 12-step meetings; the recovery in this area is over the top amazing. The houses clients live in are beautiful, beyond what words can say, and very comfortable, homey, and lively. Overall, this program has changed my life forever for the better. I came to treatment with very little hope for a future for myself. Capo has been patient, kind, and loving to me, at a time when I was none of those things to myself. The entire staff, in more ways than I can count, is a significant part of the success in my recovery. For i have the authority to lay it down when i want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my father has comanded"). To me this verse speaks to my heart if i sacrife my old ways to follow christ god gives me authority to pick up a new life with him one with purpose and fullfilment. But i have to chose to give it up. I have to want a new life with him and for me. To be transformed by the renewal of my mind and heart. What is impossible for man is made possible with god. This treatment center has given me a path to redemption and all i need to do is walk. If u are ready or not or just unsure i recommend coming here. But you get what you put in. They have created a safe, therapeutic environment that is welcoming to all. The spiritual component of the program is available to all, but is not mandatory. You can participate at the level you are comfortable with while still receiving all of the services they have to offer. Jeremiah was an outstanding case manager who is extremely knowledgeable while also being relatable. His well rounded approach to rehabilitation was inspiring. My husband of 20+ yrs was in the In Patient Treatment at the Men’s Facility for 60 days and is now attending Intensive Outpatient Program as recommended by Mr. Ed his therapist and Jeremiah his case manager. Aaron and Andrew the house managers and Jim the night house manager all took such great care of my husband. Covenant Hills has 2 pathways, the traditional based and the faith based. The skills and tools my husband learned are leading him to a successfully sober life. Mr. Ed involves the family in recovery and teaches during family group every week. There are also very few options in general for women’s programs, and being surrounded by all women made my experience deeper and brighter. The community there is so rich. Staff really care, and they consistently go above and beyond for you. Even after I completed treatment, I still received check-in messages from Markie who made sure I was doing well post-treatment. During treatment, my insurance abruptly cut me off with no warning and no step down option. Anchored Tides generously provided me with two weeks of scholarship so that I could transition out of their program rather than be cut off the way my insurance planned. I really hope I never require treatment again, but if I do, I would go straight back to Anchored Tides!
