About The District Recovery Community

Something I like about this facility is how much they focus on fellowship and family. All of their services are centered on these pillars, and they value teamwork and camaraderie. Their residences are comfortable and well furnished, with features like luxury bathrooms, open living rooms and backyard patios. Another neat feature is the close proximity to the ocean which gives you easy access to the water.

While you’re here you can attend lots of different activities. They offer community events, nutritional counseling and career placement services. They also conduct routine drug tests to make sure you’re following the program rules. If you need to go somewhere off site during your stay they can also help with that.

One former client calls this program an excellent recovery resource. Another said it helped them put their life back together and gave them strong tools for a healthy life.

When I first arrived at this sober living, I didn’t know what to expect. I was nervous, broken down, and unsure if this was going to be just another stop in a long cycle. But right away, I noticed how different it felt—welcoming, warm, and safe. 2. Staff Support The staff didn’t just “do their job.” They listened. They looked me in the eye. They remembered my name. From day one, I felt like I mattered—not just as a resident, but as a person with a future worth fighting for. 3. Daily Life Structure The structure was exactly what I needed. Morning routines, group check-ins, chores, and accountability kept me grounded. At first, I resisted the schedule, but over time I realized that the rhythm gave me stability and peace. 4. Community Living with others who were on the same path made a huge difference. Instead of feeling alone, I felt supported. We celebrated victories together, and when setbacks happened, we lifted each other up. It wasn’t just a house—it became a family.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

12-step icon12-Step

Participants engaged in 12 step programs receive intensive peer coaching (sponsorship) and community support. Spiritual development as a means of achieving psychological and emotional healing and growth is the cornerstone of 12 step recovery, but religious affiliations are not required. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public, though specialized formats are available, including groups for seniors, teens, and family members. Evening, night, and day meetings are conducted year-round in most communities.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

mental-health iconMental Health And Substance Abuse

In California, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs offer comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Programs include medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. Using an evidence-based approach, clinicians utilize therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy and mindfulness to address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Additional services include 12-Step recovery, group therapy, family counseling, and relapse prevention to promote sustained recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy is included in alcohol and drug addiction treatment to focus on engaging you in healthy activities that reduce your cravings and improve your overall health and well being. When you participate in group sports, art, or nature walks, you develop new interests and find a meaningful way to spend your time and reduce your cravings.

The use of experiential therapy can be helpful for the treatment of behavioral disorders, including drug and alcohol addiction. This method teaches you how to release negative emotions and cope with pain from the past. Activities such as art, music, and animal care are used to facilitate this process.

When I first arrived, I was apprehensive and skeptical about what I could gain here. But through his kindness, patience, and honesty, Rami became a light, a guiding light for those willing to let his wisdom be their navigational beacon. He didn’t just manage a house, Rami helped shape lives. By sharing his own journey with his clients, he showed me that strength isn’t in pretending to be perfect, but in being real. He was a pivotal force in shifting my perspective, reminding me how fortunate I am to have a second chance at life. Rami’s presence has been more than steady, it has been transformative.

Response from the owner
Nixon, thank you for such a powerful review—we’re so glad Rami’s presence, guidance, and authenticity have been transformative for your journey. This has been the most beneficial program I have experienced! The previous program I did at the Lakes Treatment Center gave me tools I needed to move forward, and this program teaches me how to use them in multiple aspects of life. This program is all encompassing, and introduces various approaches to healing from the inside out, top to bottom, addressing the root issues so I can excel forward in life. I appreciate the holistic approaches to healing, especially when traditional methods haven’t been all-encompassing in previous experiences. The only thing missing is my children, because I believe having them involved in the healing process more would help to heal the generations to come, and possibly prevent intensive healing from being needed in their futures. 10/10 Highly Recommend this program!

Response from the owner
Shanna, we appreciate your thoughtful feedback and are so glad this program has given you tools to grow in every aspect of life. Our Orange County treatment center is designed to address root issues with holistic and evidence-based approaches so clients can move forward with strength and hope.

This district has helped me in more ways than I can count. Since getting into treatment, I have been met with kindness and grace from all staff members. My house manager Holly consistently goes above and beyond to look out for me and the women in our house. She is kind, thoughtful, encouraging and passionate about helping others. She has taught me so much about resiliency in recovery, especially how to cope with and get through hard days. She has made a major impact on my recovery. Erika, my therapist, is extremely supportive and has guided me in so many ways to work through traumas. I could name so many, but overall the staff is beyond genuine and kind. They really care about helping every client who walks through their doors.

Response from the owner
Lauren, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review—we’re so glad Holly, Erika, and the rest of the team have made such a positive impact on your recovery. It’s inspiring to hear how their care and support have helped you build resilience at our Orange County addiction recovery center.
