About New Dimensions Day Treatment Center – The Woodlands Program

New Dimensions Day Treatment Center – The Woodlands Program provides substance abuse and mental health care for adolescents and adults in Conroe, Texas. Their Woodlands community location includes day treatment, which involves a structured and supportive setting for intensive treatment.

Inviting Environment for Expression

The Woodlands team understands that recovery can be daunting and it may be difficult for some guests to communicate. They provide a supportive, engaging setting that encourages honesty and sharing.

One feature of their program is anger management. They teach skills and provide education to deal with daily frustrations without turning to drugs or alcohol.

Structured but Flexible Care

Guests in day treatment have more support than what is offered in typical outpatient programs. Their program provides up to five hours of care five days per week. Guests have interactive group sessions where they can share challenges and feelings with others on their recovery journey.

New Dimensions considers their day treatment program an essential link for transition phases in recovery. It may be appropriate for someone stepping down from inpatient care.

One of the vital aspects of the facility’s day treatment program is its personalized care planning. They complete a detailed assessment and create a tailored plan that meets your needs. They are committed to making this an individual experience that encourages long-term sobriety rather than a generic recovery journey.

My teen has been to this place twice over a years time frame and did an IOP and PHP program. We felt both times that their treatment and care for the teens was really great and the information shared in family was always helpful. Would definitely recommend this place for families looking to find mental health care for their teens.

My daughter recently completed the IOP program at the Woodlands location of New Dimensions. Although it was a long and rough process sometimes, she and the rest of our family had great support from everyone, but especially from Isabella and Ayana, the teen treatment counselors. Without their personal attention and continued support, my daughter would not be making positive strides in her mental health journey. I would highly recommend NDD The Woodlands. If you have an open mind and REALLY want help, this is the place to go.

Accepted Insurance

New Dimensions Day Treatment Center – The Woodlands Program works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program is a less intensive option to the Partial Day Program and is designed to help clients continue to develop the skills they need to cope with life once they leave New Dimensions. Clients have the option of attending the morning or afternoon sessions, based on the individualized treatment plan that is created with the treatment team. The Intensive Outpatient Program allows clients the flexibility to be able to transition back to work, school, or other activities while still receiving support from the treatment team.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I recently completed the IOP program at New Dimensions. Both the program materials and the counselor, Laura, were a tremendous help to me. You don't graduate from addiction at the end of the program but you do learn many coping skills and techniques that are invaluable as you navigate a sober journey through life. I highly recommend New Dimensions.

So I have mixed feelings about this place, I experienced psychosis and went here to seek treatment and it wasn’t really for me. The group therapy sessions were too long and too all over the place and one of the therapist used ChatGPT to guide them through the entire day which I found very unprofessional. The environment here is very positive and safe but there are many many negative things said which promotes negative feelings and looking at things from a negative light overall it wasn’t for me

Group sessions are excellent and intuituve. The suggestions of a path of recovery have worked for me. As with any program if the individual involved fails to take initiative and action nothing will change and they are very clear about that. My experience with Gary and Jeanie has been wonderful. Highly recomend New Dimensions!!!

If this was someone's first exposure to therapy, they'd disregard the entire field of psychology. They constantly made terrible suggestions such as joining the army or quitting my job, and none of them are real doctors. The nurse practitioner also did not contact my psychiatrist about changes to my medication, so I have to get them re-approved. Also if you work full time or even part time you'll have to have your schedule work around this!

I was a client here pre-Covid, and during Covid in 2020. The staff was friendly. The facilitators were welcoming and knowledgeable. I met some really amazing people in group, and when it was time for me to graduate they helped me find and get connected with additional resources that I needed like EMDR and brain spotting. This is a good IOP and I would recommend.

I went in to check the facility and programs offered today. It is a complete sham. I asked what their structure was .... well 3hrs 3 times of week of group. I asked well are there other more individual counseling sessions and was basically told zero info. I would have to talk to the counselor..... please reach out to me "counselor". Eventually, after 15 minutes I escorted myself out. I'm glad I went to see if it was right for me. 100% NOT for me. White Woman 40's Recently finished inpatient detox DOC alcohol Professional for me first. Might be right for some people but if you won't give me a tour of the entire facility and also introduce me to your team and group. Big bag of NOPE
