The Edge Treatment Center CA

About The Edge Treatment Center

The Edge Treatment Center offers recovery programs for those dealing with substance use issues. Situated in Santa Ana, California, the facility is perfectly located to serve individuals throughout Orange County. With access to transportation and major highways like the 5 and 55 freeways, it provides a convenient option for people in the surrounding areas who are seeking support.
The facility specializes in working with clients who struggle with alcohol use, opioid addiction, methamphetamines and even inhalants. Utilizing evidence-based methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and medication assisted treatment or MAT, they help clients manage withdrawal symptoms and triggers.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

They don’t stop at treating addiction—The Edge also helps individuals dealing with mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and mood disorders. Their trauma-informed care creates a safe space for clients to address past experiences that could be contributing to their addiction.

Flexible Programs That Fit Your Life

One specialty I appreciate about The Edge is how they understand that not everyone’s situation is the same. Their partial hospitalization program offers intensive treatment during the day while still giving clients the flexibility to return home at night. For those who need more flexibility, their intensive outpatient program allows clients to receive care while balancing work, family or school commitments.

Aftercare and Sober Living Support

The facility offers sober living homes to help clients transition from treatment back into everyday life. These homes provide a supportive, drug- and alcohol-free atmosphere where people can build new, healthy habits and stay accountable in a community of others working through similar challenges. Plus, the center provides detailed aftercare planning to ensure that clients continue receiving support once they’ve left treatment.

I was disappointed to learn that a possible contributing factor to my discharge from this facility while I had less than 90 days of sobriety was due to the program director s inappropriate intimate relationship with the client who was stealing my belongings, depriving me of food, and facing no consequences. However, in hindsight, I am grateful for being discharged, as it led me to discover Renaissance Recovery. Of all the peers I met during my time here, it appears I am the only one who has successfully maintained sobriety without relapse, which is truly disheartening. Today, I am proud to celebrate 19 months of sobriety, and I credit my progress to God s plan

Majority of my life was full of let downs, and since my first journey at The Forge and The Edge worked for me. After being at both places for a year, I figured going back again after a relapse for a reset would be the right option. I was told there where changes, yeah ok. They where having problems with insurance, and the program has made changes because of it. When I arrived at The Edge after detox I learned that the insurances that where coming from Oklahoma and Montana where having problems. And all Oklahoma clients policies where ending January 1st and at that time Montana policies where fine or they won't know until they start billing. So no stressing your fine in the mean time. Three weeks later I'm told insurance is up and you got two weeks. I barely got there settled in and now I got to go, really such a let down from the first time I was there. I come from a place that don't have much options for recovery. I have to go a thousand miles to get a better chance on getting sober and clean. The Edge knew all this could happen before I left detox, I don't know if it's HIPPA violations but could they have let me know that all this was happening so I could have made a choice of risking that I may or may not finish the program because of insurance. We are reminded over and over the importance of following thru until a step or goal is met. I wasn't able to finish or follow thru with completing the 90 days I was allocated and feeling unaccomplished can be a downfall back into addiction. I'm down with treatment center to get clean and sober, I'll just close to be with therapy and using those tools I learned.

Accepted Insurance

The Edge Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

While in rehab treatment, you may work on developing various life skills to help you in long term recovery. These may include resilience, interpersonal skills, and self awareness. The focus will be on developing healthy habits for self care and relationships so you have the skills you need to manage day to day life.

The use of experiential therapy can be helpful for the treatment of behavioral disorders, including drug and alcohol addiction. This method teaches you how to release negative emotions and cope with pain from the past. Activities such as art, music, and animal care are used to facilitate this process.

I came to The Edge after relapsing with 23 months of sobriety. Not wanting to even come to the program. I gave it a Chance. The counselors and Case managers made groups and day to day life exciting and comfortable. The Thursday Music in the park with Sammie were what kept me there in the begining. Being able to refocus on programming and getting back to a sober life . The outings were a great way to gain fellowship and become friends with so many people. It started at the top. Great leadership from Carrie on down.

The edge saved my life. Many many times, I would not be here without the love and support from the amazing staff here. My stay here lasted over two years off and on and they truly never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself. They always saw my potential and took amazing care of me. There are a lot of treatment facilities that only see you as a number and only care about money this is not one of those places they truly care about every single client and put their heart and soul into providing the best care. Thank you to Allie the clinical director she has never given up on me, provided me so much strength and stability she is one of the most kindhearted people I have ever met. I truly do not think I would have made it this far in my recovery without her. Also the therapist Daniel was the best therapist I have ever had he provided so much empathy and a safe place to heal. Shout out to Edgar for his amazing groups and always making us laugh and Tiffany for always having an ear to listen and her beautiful empathy. Thank you Makoa and Cari for being kind amazing and helpful case managers. Most everyone on staff has their own recovery story I think that's what makes it feel so safe as well as easy to relate/open up. I've been in recovery a long time and I have been to a lot of treatment centers and this is the best one I have ever been to. Shout out to Nick and Sam too the activities coordinators for always planning amazing outings and showing us that we can have fun sober. I have so much love and appreciation for all of the staff here they have seen me at my lowest and my highest and were always there to pick me back up. Thank you all for everything I am eternally grateful for my time here <3

5-Star Review for Sergio at Edge Treatment When I arrived at Edge Treatment in Santa Ana, I was lost in the darkness of addiction, angry at the world, and carrying the weight of a life-altering event from my past. I had been through countless treatment centers, each one feeling like the same empty promises and recycled approaches. I was broken, filled with shame, and had little hope for the future. But then I met Sergio. From the beginning, Sergio greeted me with genuine love, inspiration, and hope. He saw beyond my rough exterior and took a genuine interest in my well-being. Unlike other staff members who seemed indifferent and detached, Sergio offered a listening ear, a kind word, and a helping hand. He took the time to get to know me, sharing life lessons and offering guidance. We connected on a deep level, discovering shared experiences and understanding each other's pain. Sergio's support was unwavering, especially during those dark moments when I felt like giving up. He helped me navigate the challenges, stay focused on my recovery, and ultimately, choose a better path for myself. Sergio is more than just a staff member; he is a beacon of light, a true advocate for those struggling with addiction. He treated me with dignity and respect, never judging my past or making me feel like just another number. His compassion and dedication are unmatched, and I am eternally grateful for his impact on my life. If you or someone you love is seeking help at Edge Treatment, I highly recommend connecting with Sergio. He is a true gem, and his support can make all the difference in your recovery journey. Sincerely, RH

Choosing The Edge Treatment Center was a life-changing decision for me. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed into a community that genuinely cared about my well-being and recovery. The entire team—case managers, therapists, activities staff, and even the front desk—offered a level of compassion and expertise that supported me through every high and low. The therapy at The Edge was transformative. Both individual and group sessions played a key role in my healing. During my one-on-one sessions, my therapist took the time to understand not only my struggles but also my goals, making the process feel personal rather than clinical. I felt safe exploring difficult emotions and learned practical tools to overcome my challenges. Group therapy was equally impactful. Being surrounded by others on similar journeys created a powerful sense of connection, and I learned so much from the other clients as well. I also discovered that sobriety can be fun, thanks to the incredible activities team. They poured their heart and energy into planning weekend events—whether it was outdoor adventures, creative workshops, kickboxing, or community outings. These activities were an essential part of my recovery because they helped me build relationships with others in ways that extended beyond therapy. Most importantly, they showed me that living a fulfilling and meaningful life in recovery was not only possible but truly enjoyable. I am especially grateful to Derek, my case manager, whose energy and authenticity were unparalleled. Every session and check-in with him was uplifting, and his perspective brought a sense of hope, even on the hardest days. Derek’s upbeat spirit and sense of humor helped me rediscover my own strength. His professionalism was exceptional, and working with him felt like a true collaboration—one grounded in trust, respect, and a shared commitment to my growth. The entire team at The Edge Treatment Center created a space where I wasn’t just treated—I was truly understood. They gave me the tools to rebuild my life, paired with unwavering support and encouragement. I will forever be grateful for their role in my recovery and for showing me that healing is not only possible but entirely achievable. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be treated with the utmost care, compassion, and respect, I wholeheartedly recommend The Edge Treatment Center.
