About ADATC
ADATC – Alcohol and Drug Abuse Testing Centers in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides training, testing, policy preparation and consultations for organizations. They also run a Heart Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
The president and CEO, Jon P. Speckman is a professional trainer, consultant and clinician. For 25 years he has helped the Department of Transportation and other organizations with resources that allow them to retain and help their employees with drug and alcohol issues.
Employee Testing for Substance Use
You may be sent to ADATC by your employer for drug and alcohol testing. Their laboratory is certified by SAMHSA, and they can provide negative results the next day. A mobile drug testing and onsite service allows them to come to the organization for testing.
Employee Referral for Professional Help
Their Heart EAP will find and refer employees to professional mental health facilities to receive help. Employers working with ADATC can refer an employee when workplace performance has become a problem and the employer suspects drug or alcohol use. This allows employees to get help and stay employed without revealing intimate aspects of their life in the workplace.
Employer Training for Substance Use Testing
An employer may want staff on site who can do breath alcohol or specimen collections for drug tests. ADATC has training classes for these, saliva testing and substance abuse professional training.
Drug Free Workplace Programs
Consultation services include specific situations between an employee and supervisor, audits of programs and management of company programs. They will help prepare drug free workplace policies, an announcement letter for the policies, standard operating procedures for carrying out the policy and program documentation.

Accepted Insurance
Other Forms of Payment
Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.
Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care
Treatments
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
Clinical Services
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
