About Orlando Men’s Rehab

Central Florida Men’s Rehab, part of Teen Challenge, is here to help through faith-based residential programs and counseling. Men of all ages and backgrounds are finding freedom from addiction and other life-controlling issues, restoring relationships with their families, and creating new, hope-filled futures for themselves and their loved ones.

Central Florida Men’s Rehab, part of Teen Challenge, is here to help through faith-based residential programs and licensed counseling services. Central Florida Men’s Rehab is putting hope within reach of those who need it most. Men of all ages and backgrounds are finding freedom from addiction and other life-controlling issues, restoring relationships with their families, and creating new, hope-filled futures for themselves and their loved ones.

Central Florida Men’s Rehab, part of Teen Challenge, is an affordable addiction and alcohol recovery program for adult men, ages 18 and older. This year-long residential program provides peer-to-peer, group, and individual counseling, parenting classes, spiritual inspiration, relapse prevention, anger management, drug and alcohol education, recreational opportunities, and vocational rehabilitation.

Central Florida Men’s Rehab is single-gender and has a safe, clean, healthy environment, providing addiction treatment and recovery. Our caring staff is well-trained, most having come through a similar addiction recovery program themselves. Each individual in our care is treated with compassion and respect. Those seeking help must follow our proven plan and be ready to commit to a full year of recovery and life skills training.

Central Florida Men’s Rehab creates life change, for, without life change, addicts and alcoholics will go right back to their addiction after a few days, weeks or months. Anyone can go through detox and get off alcohol or drugs for a short while, especially in a highly monitored environment. Our goal is to provide long-term recovery and lifetime avoidance of addictive substances, once the individual leaves our program, even when hard knocks hit.

Long-term residential recovery programs like Central Florida Men’s Rehab, part of Teen Challenge Southeast, differ from typical short-term programs you hear so much about. Short-term “revolving door” programs are visited again and again by relapsed addicts, temporarily solving the addiction, but never solving the core of the problem so the addiction comes right back again. So, the addict has to return to rehabs again and again, costing them, their insurance carrier, or their family tens of thousands of dollars each time. Every day, Adult and Teen Challenge centers enroll individuals who have previously attended 5, 10, 20, or even 30 costly short-term rehabs, to no avail. They should have come to Teen Challenge Central Florida Men’s Rehab first!

So, why is Central Florida Men’s Rehab different? It is one of few programs that will dedicate a whole year to work with each addict. That is a huge financial commitment by the organization and community, but it is the time needed in order for the recovery rates to be what they are. The day-to-day structure, community, and faith emphasis over such an extended period of time bring addicts slowly out of wrong and drug-impacted thinking into an awareness of a purpose for their life and a new way of thinking and living. Such a new purpose and way of living is one that has no place for abusing drugs or alcohol; addiction is replaced by self-love, peace, happiness, purpose, and excitement for the future.

I was a student at TC Orlando for 1 year and5 days. During one of my first weeks in the program a lady at the car wash was kind enough to ask how we were doing that day and encouraged us by saying "remember there's no perfect program" and she was right. There's plusses and minuses to every aspect in life.I am not here to discuss what I thought was wrong with or right about TCO. I will say that many of the negative things I read in other Google reviews have been rectified and are no longer relevant. My aim in writing this review is that you will enter TCO eyes wide open and not be upset or surprised at what you do/don't find and will encounter God, graduate and maintain sobriety afterwards.Let me tell you what Teen Challenge Orlando has to offerProfessional Services-If you require doctors visits or dental work, TCO offers transportation to and from appointments.Mentors provide regular opportunities forstudents to open up and talk about personalstruggles.AmenitiesKitchen/Cafeteria- Top of the line as far as rehabs go.All the coffee you can drink during breakfast but don't over do it.Meals are protein heavy, diverse and have a good amount of vegetables, essential for the brain's recovery on a chemical level.Stear clear of the sodas and limit your dessert intake or you'll get what's known as the TC 30 in your first 30 days. If not more...Dorms- Always cold but just in the way that you want.Mattresses- Par for the course. However, bring a $10 foam topper and you'll sleep like a baby, guaranteed.Closets- Each student gets half plus ample shelving space. There is a shed outback for shoes so the rooms don't stink and floors stay clean, 5pair limit.Bathrooms- They are super clean and you'll never run out of hot water; plenty of sinks and showers. Usually no wait time for your morning shave. Remeber to be a gentleman and clean up after yourself. Your Mrs. or future Mrs. will appreciate this later.Laundry- They will have a couple of designated students assigned to laundry duty and your clothes will be washed and folded on a weekly basis.Gym- Outdoor, covered weight area with elliptical, free weights, multi-use lift machine, mat for stretching and a HUGE tire to flip around campus and compete with others for bragging rights!A half court for basketball and sandpit volleyball area.Sorry, no in-ground pool. This is rehab, nota resort.Need something?TCO has a massive thrift store. If you're lacking anything outside toiletries and socks/underwear all you have to do is fill out a slip and an intern or mentor will have you hooked up and "drippin" in a day or so.Library- Several hundred books ranging from addiction recovery strories to deep subjects of the Bible and personal growth. I read over 60 books during my time spent at TCO. The best part was a series of biographies about Christian heros of the faith. I read all of them. My one take away was this- Not a single one lived a boring, unfulfilled life once they fully surrendered It over to God and chose to walk in faith and obedience. The same can and WILL happen for you if you make that choice.Work DetailMonday 12-5, Tue, Thur, Fri, 9-5; Wed 9-4:30, Sat. 8-5Usually done a little early to make it back for dinner."What?! This sounds like a labor camp, not a rehab!!!"Well all your needs are provided for and "regular" people work 40 hrs a week. Think of it as a 12 months of retraining for when you get back out into the real world. You get to build up your work ethic without the pitfalls of spending a paycheck on drugs or alcohol.Furthermore Teen Challenge has over 1400 locations in 125 countries. Not all are financially self supporting. So the efforts put in here ensures that others receive help elsewhere. If you look at it from this perspective your outlook will be a lot more positive. Please see attached photos for complete review. Note- Reading in order 3, 2, 5, 4, 1

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Jesus used Teen Challenge Orlando to deliver me from a decade long nightmare of drug addiction, severe mental health disorders, and a crisis of identity. I received restoration with my family and found my will to live again. I encountered a God who loves me and I experienced the fullness of His presence in my life. I owe my deepest gratitude to the staff and interns who helped me see the call God has on my life. If you're ready to forsake the past & renounce your life of sin, Teen Challenge Orlando will give you the space and place to pursue Jesus with all of your heart. It was here that I was enlightened to the power and person of the Holy Spirit. God restored my sanity and brought peace to my anxious heart. God answered my cry from that first night I arrived and I owe the foundation I now have to this place and the people who have committed their life to seeing others find freedom. If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, this is the place for you.

After 25 years of gambling and drug addiction, and a life of hopelessness and despair, I entered Orlando Teen Challenge where my life was forever changed. I grew up in church but never knew what a real, personal relationship with Jesus Christ looked like. I'm forever thankful for Orlando Teen Challenge where the process for a new life began for me!!!

Teen Challenge is an amazing program! I’ve been affiliated with the program for years off and on through various churches and most recently in the past few years, having the opportunity to teach these men and help them with the deliverance and freedom that is so needed in today’s world. Teen Challenge brings an excellent biblical approach to seeing people set free according to the Word of God. They are resolute in their mission and have an outstanding reputation for also impacting their local community through their service and faith in the Lord. I have highly recommended people in the past for the program and will continue to do so moving forward. They have a very good track record when it comes to rehabilitation from life controlling substances and addictions. Unlike many secular program they base their entire foundation and success on the Bible and their trust in God through Jesus Christ.
