Residing Hope is an amazing program because of the resources they provide financial advising, case management, therapy services, and a truly supportive staff. Mrs. Ramona has been a huge part of my journey. Her encouragement, guidance, and the personal support she offers have made a real difference in my life.
I genuinely believe that you get out what you put in, and living here has been a blessing. When you commit to the process and put in the work, you gain so much in return. I’m proud to say that I’ve graduated from high school and secured a job, and I’m grateful for everything this community has helped me achieve.

I have been to SSRC twice in 2/25 and 3/26. After my first stay there I put together 10 months before going to the hospital and getting morphine thru the IV. When that happened I went back and graduated 2 days ago. I currently have 57 days and if I ever relapse that's where I would go again. It is solution based. We spend a significant time in the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous. It is on a beautiful piece of land. There are outings to go bowling, put put, AA speaker meetings and the Beach.
The initial phone call is with a gentleman named Ira and he genuinely seems to care. The Recovery Advocates Jeremiah, Mike, Drew and Ryan are incredible gentleman and help guide you thru the steps. The BHTs Thomas and Dakota are great as well. They are always there if your going thru something or just need someone to talk, to they made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. The nursing staff lead by Mille with John, Lisa, Carmon, Jennifer and Blaine are always there to m.ake sure your comfortable. And the Director Jason and office staff Michelle and Elena are 5 star A+++++

Addiction therapies u | Treatments Programs Payment Options | When I review a business, I'm of the belief no one is a 5 star and no one is a one star. I have been upset so much I felt like a one, but sanner heads prevailed. 🙂
I was only there for 8 days to detox. If you want to stay for approximately a month. You could do worse. I would have to say the staff is the best part. I had no issues getting anything. The facility is HUGE! They have a nice place to jog or walk. Decent size, clean pool, ample work out area. AA and NA meetings most evenings. In Detox you have a TV in every room. A couple criticisms. The smoking area is a tiny lil afterthought of an area, and you have to wait for certain times to smoke. As you may know there is not a bunch to do in detox, it would be nice to smoke at anytime.
Food was great! Be careful, you may get fat.
Hope this helped!
Oh, one other thing. A small group of workers that seem to get forgotten, Housekeeping crew! They came through every single day and cleaned like they care. Showers were clean and sanitary, floors swept, windows and tables all good!

This place was an absolute God-send and saved my life. From the very start the place with its great employees at every part of the facility were compassionate and caring and made sure that my needs were met. My initial therapist Ashlee was absolutely amazing and helped me through major life crises that were occurring at the moment between my Mental Illnesses and Alcoholism. During this time I was able to reconnect with my loving parents and become a contributing member to the family as its only child. During the outpatient process, IOP Therapy I met with Dylan Martin And Martin Hawk - Both of these extremely qualified therapists worked out some very complex issues that still remained inside of me and the outpatient setting of being at home with my parents helped solidify our family and teach them about my Mental Illnesses and Alcoholism. I highly recommend any level of care from ORC Recovery to anyone that is dealing with ANY sort of crisis at the moment - don't sit in the dark with problems, make sure to seek help and help will find you. Thank you very much ORC. May you continue to serve the Orlando Area with Honor and Dignity.

I just left Heroes’ Mile about 2 weeks ago. When I first arrived, I had no idea what to expect. I was a total wreck and knew I needed help. It didn’t take long for me to get comfortable within the facility. It has a very homely sense to it. It’s not your polished tile, institutional environment at all. Very welcoming. In regards to the staff, where to start? Everyone there is incredible. I owe my life to the professionals that keep the gears oiled in that machine. Crystal, the director, she is full of positive energy and will take time out of her schedule to talk to you if you ever need her for anything. The therapists there are amazing and the food is great. I gained some weight there. Should have used the gym more. Haha. There is a lot of places to hang out in your free time. And one feature not mentioned by Google is the animals! Peafowl, Sand Hill Cranes that will hang out around you, a pond FULL of Blue Fin Tilapia, a little gator that suns in the evening. There is so much I could go on about. I would have to list so many names. Please, if you are reading my review and you are scared or unsure of how to make this move in your life, call Heroes. If they can’t help for some reason, they WILL find something for you. They care. I won’t live long enough to ever have the time to repay all the good they did for me.

SOBERING REALITY: CORRECTING MY 1 STAR RATING.
THANK YOU TO STEVEN, RON, THE NURSING STAFF &, MY NEW COUNSELOR WHO ENDURE THE GRUNTS AND GRONES OF UNGRATEFUL ADDICTS DAILY TO TRY TO PROVIDE LIGHT FOR THE ONES TRULY SEEKING CHANGE.
Understanding the System After a Real Crisis
The Frustration:
I initially came here ranting and left a 1-star review over Dr. Bircham's policies. A new rule forced anyone missing a pickup to single-dose, punishing patients with jobs and families rather than those failing UAs. Worse, it was announced only via a random Engage app alert—no signs, no calls, no counselor notifications. I was furious and even involved legal counsel to review proper notification protocols. It felt like a dictatorship with an absent director.
The Crisis:
Then life happened. On Wednesday, February 11, I woke at 11:45 AM to a call that my mother in California had suffered a stroke. As I scrambled to reach family, I got a call from New Seasons reminding me of my pickup appointment the next day. That reminder hit hard: going to California meant missing my pickup and being without the medicine that has been central to my sobriety for over three years.
The emotions that followed are ones only an addict could truly understand. But I was determined—my addiction would NOT cause me to fail my family. I booked a flight, jumped in my car, and drove straight to New Seasons before they closed.
The Response:
I found my counselor and then waited for Steven to finish his meeting. The moment I explained my situation, Steven didn't hesitate. He laid out exactly what needed to be done and started working on a solution. As he did, I realized he wasn't just helping me—he was showing a new employee how these situations should be handled. He found a clinic in California, let me complete every form he legally could, and gave me the confidence to focus on my mother, knowing my own medical situation was in capable hands.
Everything went according to plan. When I returned home, I resumed treatment seamlessly.
The Reflection:
About a week later, I got a callback. While there, I asked Steven if I could schedule my quarterly during my next visit since I only take off work once a month. He explained that wasn't possible—company rules required it sooner. I agreed and left.
Driving home, I realized something important: his insistence didn't bother me. Not even a little. Because over the past six months, Steven, Ron, and the nurses have consistently gone above and beyond to help me maintain sobriety.
It finally dawned on me. What I had seen as Dr. Bircham's "dictatorship" was actually the necessary separation between administration and day-to-day operators. The rigid rules keep New Seasons compliant with federal regulations. They create a structure that prevents addicts—who by nature can be manipulative and use emotional situations to get their way—from exploiting compassion.
That structure allowed Steven the flexibility to move heaven and earth for me during a genuine crisis, while also holding me accountable when it came to routine requirements. The administration handles compliance; the clinical staff handles compassion. Both are necessary.
Ron and Steven are magnificent not because the system is perfect, but because they navigate its imperfections daily to give people like me a real chance at the miracle of sobriety. My final rating reflects this balance: the bureaucracy earns its frustrations, but the warriors on the front lines earn my deepest gratitude.
Let me tell you how much your appreciated.

I have had the pleasure of getting help with my own dual diagnosis mental health issues resulting in the ability to become the best version of my self. Cory is one of the most approachable and compassionate people I've met and has helped me with everything from discovering my own potential, breath work practices that alleviate anxiety and how to let go of the traumas of childhood and adult struggles. Becca is a passionate caring person who wants the best results for every patient she works with and often goes above and beyond expectations and is a breath of fresh air after having less than ideal interactions and results at similarly behavioral health practices. thank you so very much for helping me along my journey to recovery I am eternally grateful. I’ve been seeing Eliana Marc at LifeStance for about eight to nine months, starting with weekly sessions and gradually moving to bi‑weekly and now monthly. Throughout that time, Eliana has been an exceptional counselor, patient, understanding, and genuinely committed to helping me grow. She listens carefully, offers thoughtful guidance, and has made a meaningful difference in my life. LifeStance as a company has also been great. They treat you with respect, make scheduling easy, and create a comfortable environment for therapy. I highly recommend both Lifestance and Eliana Marc to anyone seeking supportive, effective mental health care.

Orlando, FL | Fresh Start Ministries of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, offers affordable residential treatment for men recovering from substance abuse. They are located in the residential area of Orlando’s College Park neighborhood. This faith based one year program offers transitional housing and extensive educational and support services. When people a | Treatments Programs Payment Options | More than 34 years ago, I came to Fresh Start Ministries seeking help for my addiction to crack cocaine. The staff at Fresh Start taught me about the addictive personality and helped me understand why I became addicted in the first place.
Through the ministry of Fresh Start, I learned how to build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and allow Him to heal areas of my past that had contributed to my destructive thinking and choices. As God worked in my life, my thinking began to change, and I started making healthier decisions.
In addition, I learned how to live a structured life and gained a deep appreciation for the importance of accountability. These principles became essential building blocks in my recovery and personal growth.
I will always be extremely grateful for what God taught me through the efforts of Fresh Start Ministries. Without a doubt, what I learned at Fresh Start saved my life. Today, after more than 34 years of continuous sobriety, I can confidently say that God used Fresh Start Ministries as a vital instrument in bringing hope, healing, restoration, and transformation to my life.

Fresh Start Ministries in Orlando have been a true blessing to my loved one and our entire family, offering hope and encouragement to his recovery. The growth I have witnessed in him, spiritually, emotionally, and personally, has been genuine and deeply meaningful as he reconnects with the Lord and embraces the difficult but necessary work that real change requires. While Fresh Start offers essential structure and guidance, lasting transformation happens when the men are willing to show up and do the work, and when both come together, the impact is powerful.
I am grateful for Pastor Tim, who leads the Tuesday family support group meetings and creates a safe space where shared understanding brings comfort and strength, as well as for counselor Jesse, whose patience, encouragement, and sincere compassion have played a meaningful role in my loved one’s journey.
The staff at Fresh Start genuinely cares, and it is evident in the way they walk alongside the men, challenge them, and hold them accountable. This is a place focused on Christ, where genuine healing and recovery can begin, and I am truly grateful for the hope and renewal this ministry brings to countless lives.
