While we wish he had chosen to stay longer and then continue with TARC’s sober-living program, which we understand is also very strong, we remain deeply grateful for the foundation TARC helped him build. Center for Discovery PHP in Maitland, FL medically neglected me and traumatized me. I came to CFD after stepping down from residential at Alsana which I was clearly not ready to step down from. When I got to PHP I was barley eating and they didn’t really know what to do with me. After my first week my therapist, Brittany said I had to get a tube or be discharged. I asked her how long I would need the tube for and she said “forever if you need it” A few weeks later I was sent in an Uber by myself 2 hours away to the emergency room at Tampa general hospital for tube insertion and medical stabilization. My therapist said that an NG tube was fine so they went ahead and put it in. After about a week in the hospital, my therapist Brittany convinced them to discharge me and told them that they would be monitoring my vitals. Against what the doctors wanted, they believed my therapist and discharged me. Only a few hours before discharge, my therapist called me and said that they can no longer take me with an NG tube and that I would need to get surgery to get a G tube in my stomach. She then offered me the option to go back to Res instead. Wanting to go home and think this over, I discharged. The next day we called Alsana to see if they could take me back and when they said no, I decided to go back in an Uber to the hospital in Tampa to get the G tube insertion surgery. This was my choice, however, they made it very clear that they wanted me to choose the G-tube and thought it was best for me. Nobody taught me how to care for the tube or how to use it, I had to learn on my own. When I got back to CFD they just had me go alone in an office to do my feedings and keep it a secret. My heart rate and weight continued to drop to the point that my heart rate was consistently in the low 40’s for almost 6 months and I was severely underweight which is dangerous. They only sent me to the hospital when it got to the 30’s. Once it was in the 30’s I went back to the hospital and then to res where the staff was astonished that my PHP had put a g tube in me and let my HR be in the 40s for so long. Both my therapist and dietician had both told me that when I come back to PHP I have to have the tube so I thought I needed it. When my res talked to my PHP they gaslit me and said that they never said that and I could come back to PHP without a tube. In res, my tube got infected and I had to get it removed. We spent all of res unlearning that I would need a tube forever and that I can’t recover without one. I’m still working on unlearning that to this day because they had convinced me I needed it and can’t ever fully recover.

I cannot recommend CFD Maitland enough. If I could leave a hundred five star reviews I would. The setting is comfortable, clean, and therapeutic. But the best part is the staff. I have never received more quality, empathetic, genuine, and kind care than at CFD maitland. The staff truly cares about every individual and the therapeutic tools I have built while at CFD are invaluable. Tristin, the Program Director, did an incredible job at initiating a therapeutic connection and ensuring I felt safe and comfortable in my treatment experience at CFD. I recommend CFD Maitland to anyone who is struggling.

This place has been amazing for me. Not only the people that run it; (thank you so much Robert and Suzanne) but the community as well is extremely welcoming and supportive!

The road to recovery is so much easier and less rocky because of the people at the Loche Rane location. Brittany is so kind, caring and honest that I felt comfortable opening up and being completely transparent with both myself and the people around me. The people who do not come out of their services bettered are the ones who never truly took advantage of the wonderful opportunity before them.

Dr Herbly is kind and understanding, never in a hurry. I always feel more positive and hopeful after talking with him.

Staff was courteous and professional, the appointment wait time wasn’t very long and they answered all my questions.

I went to several places this past Summer looking for help. It was my first time seeking this type of help. I left Sunrise due to my specific health issues that made my detox complicated. However, these people were by far the most caring and invested folks I found out pf all of the different ones I dealt with. The Practitioner was really outstanding. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I wish I could give this more than five stars. I arrived at mending fences being open-minded. I had no idea the impact this would have on my life in such a positive way. I came to this looking for help for alcohol and found I really needed the help with mental health care. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the surroundings are so Serene and peaceful. There are no amount of words I could give for the gratitude I have for what this place is giving me back to me in my life. I am truly grateful. To me there is no amount of money that could ever give me what I retained here at mending fences. This place has been absolutely PRICELESS! I highly recommend if there's anyone that needs help, a loved one or friend this would be the place for their healing journey. I finally feel I have my life back.

I went to Mending Fences to get help with my debilitating anxiety. From the time I arrived at the facility I was met with friendly and compassionate staff. The admission process was very professional, very timely and the staff made me feel safe. Concerning the program, Mending Fences focused on a personal track of a healing process designed specifically for me. I was assigned a Therapist (shout-out to Jeremy) who patiently worked with me to guide me through the healing process. Every therapists that led groups were dedicated to making learning different modalities wether - CBT, ART, OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES, EXERCISE AND MUSIC - Fun and engaging! From playing volleyball, shooting basketball hoops, bon fires and even an open mic night! Unfortunately, due to a health issue I had to leave the program - this was very disheartening for me - but the Psychiatrist , therapists and staff made the exiting process a great experience for me! Just to mention, these people try to accommodate me so that I could continue the program - it amazed me how much effort they put in - thanks 🙏 One last thing the facility and the grounds were beautiful! One last thank you to all the staff, techs , therapists and Doctors who helped me 🙏🙏 Rex

JEREMY, MY VETERAN THERIPIST WAS VERY GOOD AT SHOWING ME THE RIGHT ROAD TO RELIEVE MY SYMPTOMS SYMPTOMS OF SOCIAL ANXIETY AND TO BECOME A BETTER PERSON. THE FOOD AND KITCHEN STAFF WAS AWESOME. THE CLEANING/LAUNDRY STAFF ARE ALL GREAT AT THERE JOBS. THE MEDICAL STAFF ARE VERY GOOD AT MAKING YOU FEEL BETTER. JASON WITH ADMISSIONS WAS EXCELLENT AT GETTING INFORMATION I NEEDED. ALL THE MEDICAL TECHS WERE EXCELLENT...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND THEY HAVE AN EXCELLENT VETERAN PROGRAM.
