About the Facility

Teen Challenge - Men’s Center is a residential rehab for men in Sanford, Florida. That’s in the Orlando area. This rehab is part of the Teen Challenge network of rehab centers but this center is for adult men ages 18+. They mostly treat drug addiction and alcohol addiction but they can help with gambling addiction and other addictions and mental health issues.

This rehab center isn’t your typical rehab. The men are part of a year-long program that makes sure they have a solid foundation for sober life. Clients will have addiction counseling, group counseling, and classes in coping skills, relapse prevention, understanding addiction, parenting, and anger management. The rehab is Christian-based too so there’s a spiritual background to it all.

One factor that makes this rehab especially helpful is that they fully prepare clients for life after they leave. They give clients job training and preparation for jobs like woodworking, car detailing, and retail. To make the shift easier, they also have aftercare and transitional services like a sober living home on campus.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.
