Located in Denver, Colorado, IDEA – North Washington Street provides addiction treatment services for individuals of all ages. They offer outpatient treatment including an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and anger management. Clients can also receive domestic violence offender treatment.

IDEA is located just a few minutes away from downtown Denver. One activity that can be a fun way to unwind after your treatment sessions is visiting the Denver Art Museum, which features a variety of Western and regional art.

Proven Recovery Solutions for Addiction

The facility uses numerous evidence based therapies for addiction recovery. Moral reconation therapy focuses on helping patients enhance their decision making and moral reasoning so they can be better able to avoid relapse. Behavioral Health Therapy

Clients can experience stress and other mental health related issues that may be an underlying cause of their addiction. Behavioral health therapy services offered at this facility include anger management and life skills education.

Your counselor will teach you healthier ways you can cope with stress in life without using substances. Other topics that the facility addresses in your counseling sessions are parenting and managing adult responsibilities.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Honestly such a great experience throughout the whole time I was there. I initially was nervous and afraid I wouldn’t like the classes but after the first one, I knew how much I was welcomed and that there was a solution to my problems without the judgement of others. Huge shoutout to Paul, he is one of the kindest, realest, and true people I have ever met and his class is one to be remembered. Learned so much throughout the whole process and it made me feel more confident as a person. I am going to forever remember what I have learned and how good it was for me. I am now able to use what I’ve learned and spread the word to my friends and family and anyone that needs help with their problems or addictions. If you are afraid about the process, please do not be. The whole crew over at Idea knows what they are doing and you will not be disappointed!

When I first started treatment at IDEA. I didn't know what to expect and was reluctant on, if I should continue going and give up on attending Paul Padilla was and is a great teacher. His lesson plan and energy is second to none. I give thanks to him for helping me realize what I was worth not only to the people around me. But to MYSELF. I would recommend anyone who needed to do classes and to find themselves at IDEA with Paul Padilla. If I can complete this course and education, anyone can. I can't thank him and the program enough.. 💯

**WARNING: DO NOT COME HERE!!** This place has a tendency to reschedule appointments and take your money without proper justification. If you try to defend yourself, you’ll be branded as having an attitude. Standing up for yourself will only work against you here! Remember, the owner is also your evaluator, which means complaints won’t go anywhere. **Save your money and look elsewhere!**

If you’re going through tough times and are looking for help such as substance abuse groups, I highly recommend coming to IDEA. Aside from having multiple recourses the councilors there make you feel heard. Paul Padilla stood out the most from my treatment, sharing his background and telling us about what he’s been through has shown me he isn’t there for a paycheck but genuinely cares that people better their life’s and make smarter decisions. Even though I am no longer in treatment I would go back just to listen to him crack jokes and give some of the best life advice I have heard throughout my years.

Terrible- staff is rude and try to make you pay for parenting classes through them when the probation offers them for free. Their counselor gives everyone a sheet of paper and leaves to teach another class scheduled at the same time and says you have to sit in the room for at least an hour before you can get credit. Shows they are all about money if they double book classrooms and just state you need to sit there for an hour while they are gone

I worked with Paul Padilla and it was an experience that I not only needed, but felt like I deserved. Paul had such a welcoming environment and such an openness to his groups that I did not expect. I spent about 38 weeks working with Paul not once did I feel embarrassed or ashamed to go to Idea BECAUSE of the support I received. If you find yourself in a position to be attending this facility, I would strongly recommend trying to work with Paul if you can because change is definitely possible here.
