About Omega Recovery

Omega Recovery Services is an accredited dual diagnosis outpatient treatment center in Austin, Texas. Located on Evergreen Avenue, it’s just minutes away from Zilker Botanical Garden, the Colorado River, and all the exciting activities in Downtown Austin. The facility helps individuals recover from addictions to substances and technology.

Intensive Therapies for Long Term Sobriety

Clients will have a selection of helpful therapies to receive in the intensive outpatient program. The counselors will utilize evidence based treatment such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. You’ll learn coping skills to manage your stress and develop motivation to change your behavior.

Some additional unique therapeutic approaches that I like they provide are Japanese Karate, somatic therapy, and nature immersion. These treatments can benefit you by showing you new activities to manage your stress and find enjoyment in life.

You can continue your enjoyment of nature outside of treatment sessions by visiting local nature areas in town, such as the Mckinney Falls State Park. The facility also offers yoga 12 step education and mindfulness meditation as treatment options. The various substance use addictions that Omega Recovery Services treats include addictions to alcohol, opioids, and illicit substances.

Gaining Relief From Tech Addiction

In addition to receiving treatment for substance use disorder, the facility also offers assistance to individuals who are addicted to technology. These can include addictions to online pornography, social media and cell phones. Clients will participate in a digital detox and work with a masters level therapist to uncover the underlying cause of their issues.

They made big promises for my son, had an evaluation and then drop him in a couple of days into another hospital. Without even notifying us. Of course they were paid and there was no discussion about refunds or what happened.

I was lucky enough to find this place for my daughter who suffers from addiction. Spencer with admissions was very helpful from the beginning. My daughter said all of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, specifically Ian, Sarah, and Baylor. She was also set up with a great aftercare plan. Thank you for everything you do Omega!

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

I came to Omega more broken than I ever imagined was possible. After 6 years of trauma after trauma I was broken shell of myself. I lost 3 brothers to drug OD, one was on Christmas morning in my home. I was suffering from severe depression, anxiety, disassociation and alcoholism. I tried my best on my own for a year going to AA and intensive therapy but was not getting any better. After a year of trying on my own I found Omega. I started in the commuter program but was struggling. It was suggested that I move into the house. I was completely against the idea. I am a mom how could I leave my kids?? The staff took the time to talk with me about my fears. How could I not get the help I so desperately needed, I took leap of faith. I moved into the house 2 days before Christmas. This program saved my life. I was diagnosed with CPTSD. I had been on medications that were making everything worse. I’m so grateful to the staff for helping me get the correct diagnosis and on the right medication’s. It wasn’t easy. I was tested in many different ways. The program mimics challenges you will face in everyday life. This program will teach you how to face challenges in healthy ways. Most importantly you will learn about yourself, and why you behave certain ways. If you embrace the hard moments and search yourself you WILL learn a better way. At omega and with any program your attitude and what you put into it is what you will get out of it. They provide you with all of tools it’s up to you to use them. Embrace the hard. Get uncomfortable. The day I was deciding to come into the house one of the techs Jackson told me that the hard and the uncomfortable is how you grow. It’s what pushes you to the next level. In 6 short weeks I have grown more than I ever imagined possible. Omega is unlike any other program in Austin. I highly recommend it for mental health or addiction issues of any kind. You are worth it. Take a leap of faith. Embrace the hard. Embrace the uncomfortable.

So I thought I would actually finally take the step in see about treatment in the first place that I called which is this place the lady really didn’t help me at all and she told me that I wasn’t a fit and that she was sorry so I would say that I really don’t care about your recovery or people trying to reach out for help

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
We sincerely apologize for the experience you had, Ashlee. It's concerning to hear that our team did not provide you with the support you were looking for. Your feedback is valuable, and we will address this matter to improve our services. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Being at Omega Recovery was a roller coaster of emotions as it’s supposed to be. It focuses on all addictions and mental health issues. Being at the residential house was a mind opening experience. No phone, no tv, no communication with the outside world really allows your mind recover to its fullest. It doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience in this day and age but I believe it is something everyone should do. Shout out Jessica for being such a good friend to me and a reliable tech.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:

It’s great to know that the environment contributed to your recovery, and we appreciate your recognition of Jessica's support. Omega recovery has been a blessing for me and my recovery. From the staff to the techs everyone played a pivotal part in making my stay here accommodating and welcoming. Karen the housing director is amazing and really cares about everyone’s well being. I been to two other treatment center and I don’t think there’s another place that cares as much as the staff does here at omega. I would definitely recommend omega to anyone looking to treat their addictions whether it be tech addiction or drug addiction. Omega rocks!

After horrible aftercare coordination after 8 weeks there, I was sent to ARCH homeless shelter as a result. Last week I suffered a heart attack and was in hospital for a week. This place is selective in how much they will help, it seems. Watch out.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
We sincerely apologize for the experience you had with our aftercare coordination. Your feedback is essential for us to improve our services and ensure better support for all clients. We deeply regret any distress this situation has caused you, and we hope you are recovering well. Thank you for sharing your concerns.
