If that’s where you are, know that PRC will give you the help you need, and Robert Kidd is in the business of the highest calling—Saving Lives. There are a few moments in my life that I can pinpoint as truly life-saving, and my experience at PRC is one of them. There are plenty of IOP programs around, but the people at this center, especially Robert Kidd, are on a whole different level. Before coming to PRC in San Marcos, I had been through three treatment centers and several Intensive Outpatient Programs, with my life in complete disarray. But everything changed when I met Robert. When you show up at an IOP, it’s not on your best day—it’s one of the lowest. My family had given up on me, and I didn’t have anyone to help me sort through the wreckage of my life and guide me forward. I felt hopeless, like rebuilding my life wasn’t possible. Robert took me in at my lowest point, and I’ll never forget what he said after going through the intake process. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words! The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. The meals were good for the most part (i'm pretty picky.) There was no shortage of snacks during my stay. Going on 15 months sober. I wouldnt be here if it wasn't for them. I thought I'd need a 30-day program after, but i felt so much better by day 5 that I resolved to not drink again, and still havent. They have the drug cocktail down to a science, I barely felt any serious withdrawls. The nurses are very attentive albeit DMV-ish at times, which is a good thing in that context. The staff is very kind and caring, experienced and understanding. No nurse ratchet here. You will be frustrated by some of their institutional policies, but they do a good job explaining why those policies are in place without being overbearing or condescending. The reasons I gave it 4 stars, not 5. This is not an indictment but constructive criticism, and a warning about what to expect if these issues matter to you: The food seems to be mostly cooked off site and reheated. It's stale institutional slop, with processed food snacks left out. Nothing on the menu is fresh or natural. I had some food sensitivites and they had trouble wrapping their heads around it. I ended up mostly eating fruit cups and bagels with cream cheese. You cannot order food in. This policy is in place because people will try to sneak things in and this facility does take on patients who are there against their wishes via parents, employment deal, or court order. If you're running a detox, you may want to consider serving healthier food? Fresh fruit instead of canned? some high fiber grains? real meat, not frozen food? I brought this up. Hopefully they fixed it. There wasn't much to do there. They had a room full of movie theater seats with a flatscreen, a broken guitar, some supermarket books, AA stuff, and a set of chairs outside. Mostly you sit around and talk, watch tv, or sleep. It's a small property but you can walk laps. There's no counseling at the detox. Some AA volunteer groups shows up once in a while to talk. It may be helpful for some. There should be an on site counselor that does that job full time. Everyone else has their own specific job and sitting down and talking to people 1 on 1 didnt seem to be part of the description. They seem to be focused entirely on the medical detox aspect of the process. But I thank GOD every day for it! My desperation for change got me to Briarwood detox center. I was so scared but I was unusually willing to do anything, the night before waking up in that ditch I was contemplating suicide, again. For so many years I watched my life fall apart time and time again, over and over. I really never understood why I was unable to control my drinking. Leaving Briarwood and while being transported to Nova recovery center I didn't know what to expect but my anger and anxiety were already building. I still can't get over how amazing Nova looks, it pretty much relaxes you the minute you arrive! I had never been to "rehab" before so I was blown away by the beauty of the amenities and the attentive staff. So with that said, I was sweet and grateful to be there for about 48 hours and then I started being the walking talking character defect stage character I was, telling everyone how they should do their jobs and finding things, if not inventing things to complain about. I still get embarrassed sometimes of my actions and comments I made the first weeks of my stay. But what stands out is how the staff didn't even blink! I never got the reaction I would of deserved! I was loved on! I was given understanding and compassion! They treated me like the sick person who needed help, that I was! They dug in and held me accountable with truth and what I referrer to as grace. The Recovery specialist who work with us, for us and teach us vital solutions to my disease of alcoholism that I will be forever grateful for. From the frequent individual counseling sessions to the daily group counseling classes to the, "hey I need to talk!", I received an understanding of how to maintain my life of sobriety! Nova is a very important and special place to me so I could really go on and on but the main point I want to testify about is this, I'm truly a better person today because of the dedication to helping people by the Nova recovery family! This place changes lives. Its helped me to have the tools to accurately address and process what my addiction and addictive behaviors look like both mentally and physically. It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude I feel for Robert Kidd & “the Room” @ Positive Recovery, but I will give it my best shot. After finding myself at an ultimate low & loosing nearly everything that ever mattered to me in life, I found myself sitting in what we call “the room”. Robert asked me a question that I had no idea wld be the start of a new & beautiful journey…. “Who is Kat?” Take away the kids, the marriage, the job, etc…most of which I had lost at that point anyway - who was I, at my core? I had absolutely no idea - but thankfully, I had a willingness & a safe place to find out. Thru some really challenging assignments & sitting in the room w/ others who were willing to open up & share things we probably wldn’t otherwise talk about…I found myself doing the same. In doing so, I have been able to let go of things I didn’t even realize I had been holding onto & have rediscovered who I AM. I hope this review reaches you when you’re feeling like you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked. If that’s where you are, know that PRC will give you the help you need, and Robert Kidd is in the business of the highest calling—Saving Lives. There are a few moments in my life that I can pinpoint as truly life-saving, and my experience at PRC is one of them. There are plenty of IOP programs around, but the people at this center, especially Robert Kidd, are on a whole different level. Before coming to PRC in San Marcos, I had been through three treatment centers and several Intensive Outpatient Programs, with my life in complete disarray. But everything changed when I met Robert. When you show up at an IOP, it’s not on your best day—it’s one of the lowest. My family had given up on me, and I didn’t have anyone to help me sort through the wreckage of my life and guide me forward. I felt hopeless, like rebuilding my life wasn’t possible. Robert took me in at my lowest point, and I’ll never forget what he said after going through the intake process. We found San Marcos Treatment Center to be a wonderful place for our Son. As hard as it was for all of us, we can see a difference in him. All the staff people that we had contact with were exceptional. Always kind and considerate. The nursing staff keep us informed on a regular basis, as needed. I was just discharged from The Right Step, Wimberley, TX, yesterday. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words!

I can't say enough great things about my treatment at RU. I was in the PHP program and the curriculum is awesome. They definitely help you get out of your comfort zone with Open Mic on Wednesdays, which I loved! The mens houses are both very nice and comfortable. And they provide food for us and we can still purchase extra if we want. I would recommend this facility to any and everyone!

Recovery unplugged has been a very important part of my journey. My therapist, staff, the clients, and especially my case manager Chloe have really helped me through this chapter of my life. Chloe was my case manager and really helped me get my doctors appointments figured out , my probation appointments, and answered any other questions I had. Nova is far from perfect, and some of the information can be misleading. But if you want to dive deep into the 12 Steps while enjoying good food and a beautiful scenic view, this is the place for you. The staff is great — the RAs and techs are friendly and genuinely care. The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. Jeff changed my life and helped save my marriage, so the place gets five stars from me for that reason alone. Thank you to Jeff, Korn, Cassandra, Jen, Leon Phelps, Aaron, and the rest of the staff!

Never thought I'd be reviewing a detox/rehab facility, but Recovery Unplugged delivered. The medical team handled my detox efficiently and continued to manage my medical need throughout my residential stay. My therapist Carolyn was always available and helped me develop a solid plan for my continued recovery. The tech staff kept things moving smoothly. The meals were good for the most part (i'm pretty picky.) There was no shortage of snacks during my stay. I hope to never come back to Recovery, but would recommend it to anyone who is ready to take back their life from addiction.

I wish I could adequately express my gratitude and admiration for Driftwood Recovery. This place and the staff members and alumni who offered expert support to our young adult son and to our family are sacred to me. As a mental health professional myself, I knew that the key to my son’s healing would require a level of trauma-informed inpatient care that is very difficult to find, especially in the state of Texas. Where do I start! From finding this place to getting in contact with Gil! Gil went above and beyond to evaluate my son at our home. Gil did everything possible to get my son admitted in quickly. My family was turned upside down over night from a head on collision. My son had his spinal injury that left him paralyzed. We were told that the best place for him to get treatment was at TIRR in Houston. Well shame on TIRR for not being any help at all. I spent months trying to get him to TIRR with no luck. I finally did some research and found you guys in Austin! From the 1st day of conversation with Gil he was out evaluating my son the next following week. Gil called me back at the end of the week with the news we’ve been waiting for, since our release from hospital. He was accepted! Mind you I was back in the hospital due to a set back in my recovery. I went to the ER yesterday to get checked for a blood clot in my leg. As soon as I went to a room, blood work and an EKG were done. I went to ultrasound for a scan, all before seeing anyone. I'm not sure who ordered all of the tests but it sure reduced the amount of time it took for me to be evaluated. I appreciate the treatment I received and all of the people involved. Fortunately there was no blood clot. Thank you Grmc, keep up the good work.

It's sorta hard to give the awesome review I want to and explain because I don't want to publicly announce my situation to the world but I know I have to say something to make sure people in and around the area who need services that BBT provides, I want to be able to let know this is a positive life changing place to turn to. Help is here for so many situations and if not they can help point you in the right direction. There was no judgment. Every single person I talked to was absolutely amazing, very sweet, caring, nice, helpful and genuinely wanting to help me and have me suceed...period. If you or someone you know need help or any services that BBT provides I highly recommend contacting them immediately. This is such a great place to be able to turn to for help because it is everywhere here.

My casemanager michelle has done a great job of guiding me through my trials and mental health crisis with respect and compassion. She is attentive to my needs and brings me a coke (drink 😁) when she comes to the house. The front desk people are kind. I highly recommend this clinic

I was so scared to start NOCD but I’m so glad I did. After years of talk therapy that never helped my NOCD therapist understood my problem and was able to quickly zero in on ways for me to address the problem. She gave me the education and tools to strategically deal with my challenges. I.started NOCD when I was 73 years old. I was desperate for help and relief from the misery I have known my entire life. The care and attention is great. You get access to an equine program, holistic work outs and yoga. The group goes to outings and meetings together. I highly recommend this as either a step down from inpatient or as a first step.

My name is Roland M. I was recently at Banyan Treatment in Waelder,Tx. I was so amazed at the beautiful Country Environment there. Resort style atmosphere with all the amenities. Swimming pool, fishing pond, pickleball, and complete gym available. The food by kitchen staff was more than I expected. Simply wonderful. Natalie along with all the therapists and providers as well as the technicians working day in and day out to make sure that I had the best experience possible in my journey to seeking sobriety. Sobriety is the key at Banyan. One person who I hold in high regards is Katherine. Katherine made such an impact on me . Her knowledge in Smart Recovery program as well as being an ideal mentor. I absolutely love my time at banyan Texas. The treatment was great and participation was always easy. The therapist here listen and the aftercare coordinators were on top of it from the very beginning. All the stuff was exceptionally nice. The scenery is gorgeous I love being here and I hate leaving but my journey continues. If this saves just one person I'll be okay so if you're serious about getting your life back together and recovery is in your future batting is a great place to come.

Since my beginning here at Banyan Texas my treatment experiences were highly focused. I earned more than I had ever expected. This was my first (and most likely my last) rehabilitation program and it went smoothly. Thanks to the case managers Cassi and Carolyn for their support and love for me and my personal development. Forever grateful and thankful for their service. Thanks to Angela, my therapist here at Banyan Texas, for taking me through this process/journey. Her one on one therapy sessions here gave me a new hope for my life expedition, motivation for my future, and encouragement I need to keep persevering. Regardless, it’ll be hard work. I came here barely alive, hopelessly alcoholic after years of heavy daily drinking. Going on 15 months sober. I wouldnt be here if it wasn't for them. I thought I'd need a 30-day program after, but i felt so much better by day 5 that I resolved to not drink again, and still havent. They have the drug cocktail down to a science, I barely felt any serious withdrawls. The nurses are very attentive albeit DMV-ish at times, which is a good thing in that context. The staff is very kind and caring, experienced and understanding. No nurse ratchet here. You will be frustrated by some of their institutional policies, but they do a good job explaining why those policies are in place without being overbearing or condescending. The reasons I gave it 4 stars, not 5. This is not an indictment but constructive criticism, and a warning about what to expect if these issues matter to you: The food seems to be mostly cooked off site and reheated. It's stale institutional slop, with processed food snacks left out. Nothing on the menu is fresh or natural. I had some food sensitivites and they had trouble wrapping their heads around it. I ended up mostly eating fruit cups and bagels with cream cheese. You cannot order food in. This policy is in place because people will try to sneak things in and this facility does take on patients who are there against their wishes via parents, employment deal, or court order. If you're running a detox, you may want to consider serving healthier food? Fresh fruit instead of canned? some high fiber grains? real meat, not frozen food? I brought this up. Hopefully they fixed it. There wasn't much to do there. They had a room full of movie theater seats with a flatscreen, a broken guitar, some supermarket books, AA stuff, and a set of chairs outside. Mostly you sit around and talk, watch tv, or sleep. It's a small property but you can walk laps. There's no counseling at the detox. Some AA volunteer groups shows up once in a while to talk. It may be helpful for some. There should be an on site counselor that does that job full time. Everyone else has their own specific job and sitting down and talking to people 1 on 1 didnt seem to be part of the description. They seem to be focused entirely on the medical detox aspect of the process. If you need rehab, you do that after, or find a rehab that does detox on site.

Long story short, 35 years of hard drinking landed me in a ditch in a city I'm not even from. But I thank GOD every day for it! My desperation for change got me to Briarwood detox center. I was so scared but I was unusually willing to do anything, the night before waking up in that ditch I was contemplating suicide, again. For so many years I watched my life fall apart time and time again, over and over. I really never understood why I was unable to control my drinking. Leaving Briarwood and while being transported to Nova recovery center I didn't know what to expect but my anger and anxiety were already building. I still can't get over how amazing Nova looks, it pretty much relaxes you the minute you arrive! I had never been to "rehab" before so I was blown away by the beauty of the amenities and the attentive staff. So with that said, I was sweet and grateful to be there for about 48 hours and then I started being the walking talking character defect stage character I was, telling everyone how they should do their jobs and finding things, if not inventing things to complain about. I still get embarrassed sometimes of my actions and comments I made the first weeks of my stay. But what stands out is how the staff didn't even blink! I never got the reaction I would of deserved! I was loved on! I was given understanding and compassion! They treated me like the sick person who needed help, that I was! They dug in and held me accountable with truth and what I referrer to as grace. The Recovery specialist who work with us, for us and teach us vital solutions to my disease of alcoholism that I will be forever grateful for. From the frequent individual counseling sessions to the daily group counseling classes to the, "hey I need to talk!", I received an understanding of how to maintain my life of sobriety! Nova is a very important and special place to me so I could really go on and on but the main point I want to testify about is this, I'm truly a better person today because of the dedication to helping people by the Nova recovery family!
