About Phoenix House Texas – Austin

As of 9/29/2023, Phoenix House Texas is no longer providing assessments, outpatient treatment, or residential treatment for substance use and concurrent mental health concerns to adolescents in our community. Our organization has transitioned to only providing prevention and education services within schools and communities. Due to this change in services, we are no longer accepting admissions or referrals.

Phoenix House Texas is located in Austin, Texas. Their main goal is to help youth live substance free and healthy lives. Their main focus is on education and prevention. They serve three major cities and 64 zip codes in Eastern Texas and provide prevention services to over 26,000 people a year.

They have a substance use prevention and mental health education program that looks to guide youth, families and communities to make healthy life choices and improve their well being. They work with schools and communities to educate students and their parents with evidence based and positive substance use prevention practices. What I really like about this program is that they focus on education and positive prevention and don’t use scare tactics or fear based motivations.

Their Pre K through 12th grade school based program strives to inform young people about the risks and outcomes of substance abuse. They teach you healthy coping skills and how to make positive choices through a number of different curriculums.

The program is designed to promote academic achievement and improve social and emotional skills that make for stronger relationships with fellow students, teachers and parents.

They do community outreach and education to raise awareness about substance use and mental health issues. They also offer parent education that gives parents support and resources to help them recognize warning signs and communicate with their kids about substance abuse.

My twin teens enjoyed both the inpatient and outpatient treatment plans created for them. The staff was fantastic at balancing all the ups and downs. Thanks to Phoenix house and the assistance they offer both of my teens are sober, enjoying life and coping with everyday life.

Do not under any circumstance put you child in this place. They released my 15 year old grandson and never called his parents. We have no idea where he is or who he is with or if he is even alive. They won't tell us who he left with you know patient privelege. What about this family who can barely function, trying to find him. Don't we have privelege to know if he is alive in Austin somewhere or wherever we might find him. Austin PD is working with a reduced staff. My daughter in law hired 2 investigators. Looking into an attorney now. Just praying we find him alive.

I'm a former patient I'm 30 now I was in-patient form 17 yr old to 18 I ended my stent as a phase 3 motivator. for some reason I was thinking about my time at phoenix austin it was a growing experience I was an involuntary patient, a nudge from a judge but I'm glad I went met some awesome and interesting kids and the staff was amazing. The pictures on the page showe how far the facility has come it looks so different from when I made my stay I am now happily married with 3 beautiful daughters had it not been for these ppl I would not have the beautiful life I have now.if someone could remind me of the motto I wouldn be grateful I can not remember after all these years

Phoenix House-Austin, I will forever be indebted to you for keeping my son alive and giving him the tools and resources needed for the continuation of his sobriety. Before finding Phoenix House, I traveled a very scary and what seemed like a hopeless road with my son. I didn’t have a support system like I do now. I struggled for a long time and countless hours searching for the right place to put him. Not only have you been supportive of my son, but you have of me as well. You are all a blessing 😇 Thank you so very much. Blessings to you and your families, ALWAYS.

You lost my 16 year old Grandson. You were aware of his neurological issues and that he had meds for it and your 'doctor' cut his dosage in half instead of following his doctors protocol. His meds would have helped with his anxiety and if you hadn't cut his meds he would still be there. He left and you watched him. Now we don't know where he's at and he's going cold turkey without his meds. Plus you aren't giving his parents information they need to find their child. I blame you and Williamson County. People they can't keep your children safe here. Go elswhere!

I have went to phoenix house two times and they have help me out EXTREMELY i have been sober for 9 months i am 18 years old. They have showed love and happiness towards all of the kids and all they at is for the best of us.
