About Aegis Treatment Centers Wilmington

Rich in maritime history, Wilmington, California, also features Aegis Treatment Centers Wilmington. Their centrally located outpatient clinic provides substance abuse and co-occurring disorder treatment. You can access medication assisted treatment and multiple support services to reach your recovery goals.

Outpatient care provides the flexibility to live at home and tend to daily commitments while getting the help you need. With MAT, you can manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings that come with quitting substances. They prescribe FDA approved medications, such as methadone and Suboxone to help you overcome these challenges.

You’ll also participate in proven therapeutic interventions, including addiction education, group and individual counseling, psychoeducation, and peer support. These approaches can help you get to the root of addiction and develop coping skills to sustain recovery.

Targeted Approaches for Diverse Needs

What strikes me most is their specialized programs. They emphasize personalized care, providing gender and culture specific groups as well as special services for pregnant women. I think it’s nice that they create an inclusive space where you can feel comfortable opening up and learning from others. They ensure your approach is tailored to your unique needs to promote sustained recovery.

A Whole Person Healing Approach

Another great feature I noticed was their holistic offerings. You’ll benefit from healing your mind, body, and spirit to enhance overall wellness. You can participate in stress and relaxation techniques as well as mindfulness practices. That way, you’ll leave treatment with healthy self-expression outlets and self-care methods to fuel your journey.

Positive Experiences from Previous Clients

Many previous clients enjoyed their services. One mentioned how their professional, compassionate team helped her reach recovery. While the experiences of others can hold some weight in your decision, always research and consider multiple facilities to find the right fit.

Place is okay, the counselors are as helpful as they can be. Counseling requirements are ridiculous though. I'm only required to be in person at the clinic twice a month for less than 10 minutes at a time but somehow also I need almost 4 hours of counseling a month? If I was in that need of that much counseling, why would I be given take home doses in the first place? Of course if you don't do your counseling they take away your take home doses. First though, they make you sit in the clinic for 3 hours (you aren't allowed to leave for any reason or the 3 hours timer starts over) and wait for a counselor to have a session with you before they will even dose you. My counselor didn't call me one day and the clinic said it doesn't matter if it's my counselors fault, that they still might take my take homes away if it happened again. I've been sober for over 10 years, when I asked for less counseling I was told no, that Aegis doesn't allow it. They care way more about milking every penny they can from medi-cal over actually listening to patients.

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Aegis Treatment Centers Wilmington works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

While in rehab treatment, you may work on developing various life skills to help you in long term recovery. These may include resilience, interpersonal skills, and self awareness. The focus will be on developing healthy habits for self care and relationships so you have the skills you need to manage day to day life.
