Edit: The most unprofessional experience of almost any company I've ever interacted with. I would give 0 stars if it was possible. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and money and find another treatment center. Feel free to hit Troy up (picture) and ask him about how he and his staff are irresponsible, dishonest, and downright unprofessional. There is a reason the last 3 reviews are 1star... ------ Sitting in their admin office for 2 hours now and they still haven't started my intake process. Furthermore, the two women in the admin office keep cussing, complaining about their jobs, coworkers, etc. Great way for a new patient to go through the intake process. Now come to find out they need me to get my CPAP that I don't use and is still in its original box. My place is literally 2hours away. My brother was bringing it up from Phoenix, when 1.5hours into his trip they said I'm not staying and they would bring me to Sky Harbor, as if that fixes things.

Proposed Review / Complaint – Royal Life Centers I am writing this to document a deeply troubling experience with Royal Life Centers that I believe warrants serious attention. I arrived at the facility in good faith, following prior communication that suggested I would be evaluated and potentially admitted for detox and treatment. Upon arrival, I was not permitted inside the facility, nor was I given a clear, timely, or transparent explanation for what was occurring. Instead, I was left waiting outside for several hours in a vulnerable state, without meaningful communication, medical assessment, or compassionate engagement. During this time, the handling of my presence felt procedural rather than humane—marked by deflection, distance, and a lack of accountability. Eventually, rather than facilitating care or providing a clear intake determination, law enforcement and emergency services were contacted. This felt less like a clinical decision and more like an administrative maneuver to remove responsibility, despite my having arrived seeking help. What is most concerning is the apparent inconsistency in how admissions are handled. It appeared that acceptance was not based on transparent medical criteria, but on discretionary and opaque judgment. This creates a deeply unsafe environment for individuals in crisis who arrive expecting care, dignity, and professionalism. I am not writing this out of anger, but out of responsibility. People seeking treatment are often at their most fragile. Being turned away without clarity, compassion, or proper process can cause real harm. Facilities entrusted with care should be held to a higher standard than this. I urge Royal Life Centers and the appropriate oversight bodies to review their intake practices, staff conduct, and crisis protocols to ensure that no one else is placed in a similarly destabilizing and distressing situation. This experience left me feeling dismissed, exposed, and profoundly let down by a system that claims to exist to help. I understand, We will do this calmly, factually, and without embellishment—so the message stands on its own weight and cannot be dismissed. Here is a clean, systematic third statement you can post or submit. You may copy it exactly. Formal Statement / Public Review I am writing to formally document my experience with Royal Life Detox Centers. I arrived at the facility as instructed for intake and detox. Upon arrival, I was not allowed inside the building. I remained outside for several hours while staff stated they were “waiting for approval” or further direction. During this time, no clear explanation, timeline, or medical assessment was provided to me, despite my visible distress and the nature of detox admissions. Eventually, rather than being admitted or evaluated, law enforcement and emergency services were contacted. This resulted in my removal from the premises without ever being allowed entry, assessed, or stabilized. This was deeply distressing and occurred after I had already traveled a significant distance under the expectation of receiving care. At no point was I disruptive, aggressive, or refusing process. I was simply waiting for the admission that had been communicated to me beforehand. The handling of this situation felt dismissive and lacked transparency, compassion, and appropriate clinical protocol for someone seeking detox services. I am sharing this so others are aware of the intake experience I endured and so the organization can reflect on how vulnerable individuals are treated at the point of entry.

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Royal Life Detox works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery and those who are exiting detox programs. It's ideal for clients in crisis or at an elevated risk of relapse. Inpatient treatment centers provide housing and meals, allowing clients to focus on their recovery away from distractions and addiction triggers. Clients engage in intensive psychotherapy, and many inpatient programs feature recovery-focused life skills training and/or complementary therapies like meditation, creative arts therapy, and other holistic treatments.

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.

Many addiction recovery centers base their treatment modalities on the 12 step program model, and those in treatment often transition to community-based programs. These programs can also be effective for clients who choose not to enter rehab. Traditionally, 12 step meetings are designed to provide intensive peer support whenever it is needed. In addition to group meetings and peer sponsorship, participants "work the steps" to achieve recovery through a systematic healing of the mind, body, and spirit.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Also known as CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy in Arizona is one of the most common types of psychotherapy. It offers a structured method of counseling that effectively treats substance use disorder and dual diagnosis disorders.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Arizona focuses on acceptance of your reality and behaviors while also attempting to make changes in unhealthy behaviors. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.
