As a consultant in behavioral health, I know first-hand that they have a caring program, the students look happy, and the facility is nice. The academy is located on a beautiful 28-acre campus near Sedona with equine therapy, a mountain creek that runs through the property, and plenty of outdoor space to play. With onsite school, help with behavioral health, loving staff, and the beauty of nature, this place is a kids dream. We were hesitant but hopeful, and 6 months later she is home and doing better than I could have imagined. The staff has been amazing; frequent communication and to have the open door policy to visit was such a change from her former RTC. It's only been a few weeks since graduating the program but she is doing well. I am thankful for their work with her and recommend for parents and girls who ate struggling. This place honestly changed my life. I have bipolar II disorder. Before coming to ATMC my meds had clunked out on me for almost 3 years and I was desperate to get help. I had been trying different medications and nothing was working. My depressive episodes got so severe to the point that I could no longer work. I knew that I needed to seek alternative help but did not know where to go. Every psychiatrist just kept upping or changing my medications and to no avail. I was tired of being a slave to psychotropics. My family found ATMC and when I was ready to go, they got me in immediately. This place is like no other. In the US, where it is common practice to be dependent on medication as an individual with bipolar disorder and to oftentimes be debilitated and unable to work, ATMC provided a completely different option for me! At ATMC they focus on a more holistic method of detoxing and nourishing the body. We went to the "detox shop" 5 days a week where we did sauna for hours, cold plunge, ionic footbaths, massage, reiki, sound healing, foot reflexology and IV treatments. They put you on a supplement protocol. This includes many different supplements a day which are hard to take at first but when you understand the benefit of these supplements, you begin to take them happily! I also loved the groups and my therapist, Christine. You meet with your therapist twice a week. Christine was incredible, very skilled and the most empathic therapist I have ever had. They also take you out daily into town for walking/hiking and Sedona is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever encountered! No wonder everyone comes to Sedona for healing. It's magical. They also feed you a "serotonin-building diet" that is packed with all kinds of veggies (they provide protein as well) and the 4 female chefs there are incredible! By far, the most significant aspect of ATMC and what really touched me the most is the incredible staff! Every single one of them! They are all the most authentic, genuine, loving and caring people. I do not know how they managed to get all of these amazing people in one place! They will help change your life! During my time at ATMC, I got off one of my medications and substantially lowered another one. The psychiatrist helps taper you down weekly and the naturopathic doctor and detox specialist ensure that you are taking the right supplements to support you. It's been a while since my stay and I am so blessed to say that I am stable and back to living a full life again. I continue to take the supplements that are shipped to me monthly. If you are considering an alternate way of healing your body and mind, I highly recommend this place! M 1 year ago I just transferred to the northern AZ VA system and I have been floored with how great and attentive they've been. I have mental health issues and the primary Prescott location has been super quick to get me in and talking to someone. The psychiatrist I talked to listened to me and suggested some things for me to try. I am now on a weekly therapy and different meds, when I asked them to check in after I start the meds they scheduled weekly appointments. I had my labs done last week, super quick and really easy going tech. Today I saw nurse Sara and she was lovely! Completely at ease and fun to chat with. I then saw Dr Gallagher and she was delightful. She knew my records, she asked questions and she offered some other treatment options for me. She made sure I had the assistance and appointments all down correctly and said if I need anything to reach out. I've been in the VA system for about a decade and this has been the best experience so far. Oakwood GA clinic was great but cottonwood has surpassed them. Thank you all for being there. In the end, the answer for me (and many others I met there) was a holistic combination of informed supplementation, rigorous detoxification protocols, exercise, sauna, individual CBT work, group therapy and top-notch nutrition. The grounds were clean and beautiful, accommodations homey, and the food delicious. I loved the optional daily nature outings and many sight-seeing trips around Sedona. I would recommend ATMC to anyone in medication withdrawals or poor health. I was suffering and with benzo withdrawal and wanting to end my life. Now I am thriving. (My stay was 60 days.) I will never forget my time here, the passionate staff of skilled care providers, or the dear friends I made. I was able to reduce my medication which before which is virtually impossible. The staff there goes beyond caring. They're like family from the nurses like Kimberly to the helping practitioners like Lucas Melody, Mo, DJ Beatrice, Trisha, Gregg, Beth, and so many others it truly is the greatest detox facility I have ever been to I can I can say nothing but the absolute best about this place. Because of the complex issues requiring treatment, we interacted with doctors, nurses, techs, OC & physical therapists, surgeons, and support staff. Every professional we saw provided excellent advice, counsel and his treatment needed in a timely manner. This isn’t always easy when the staff may be stretched thin. VMCC is connected with specialists when needed through telemedicine. The staff was always positive, courteous and kind. We always got thorough and in-depth answers to all our questions. Dr. Williams explained everything going on and made us (my mom and I) feel like human beings instead of just another patient family on his roster. He really should be the gold standard example for other hospital physicians in how they relate to family members. My stepdads final night, the overnight nursing team, Judith and Solstice, were amazing. They were kind and compassionate and treated him with such care and respect. They treated me the same. No one likes hospitals at such a stressful time and it really is the care providers that make all the difference. They are who you will remember and how you feel about the hospital itself. I saw things I never would’ve seen if I had not been placed there. The town of Jerome, the copper mines, we saw the Grand Canyon at least 6 times when I was there. The staff Ms. Burgess taught me to crochet. When I started to learn anll the other girls were interested and did as well. All the other staff members were like hippies, not like anything I had experienced in Cincinnati Ohio at treatment centers. So, nice. I didn’t like the psychiatrist much but in all it was an adventure there. I now have two companies. Lydia’s Lawncare and Empowered Lady Llc here in Cincinnati Ohio. He lost the love of his life while suffering a traumatic brain injury himself and barely surviving it. After coming through it all he made the very brave decision that he needed to go to rehab. I had kept in touch with Stephen Teele, who has known my son for years, through all of this. So he gave Stephen a call and he helped get him in immediately. This has been the best thing ever for my son! They have helped him so much and have continued to do so and are able to continue to support him as long as he needs it. As for his family, we have had a few obstacles we are having to overcome right now Which have affected my son, but the staff at Decision Point have been there to help him through this also. Aggressive. The accountability? Relentless. The staff? Suspiciously good at knowing when you’re full of it. It’s like they’ve seen this before or something.Somewhere between getting called out, laughing at ourselves, and realizing we can’t outsmart basic honesty, things actually started working. Annoying, but effective. I came in thinking I was already squared away. I left realizing I was… slightly less of a disaster, but now with tools, habits, and a solid crew of people who watched me pretend I had it together until I actually did.
