About The Raleigh House – Denver

When you are receiving inpatient care here, they will create an individualized treatment plan tailored for you to get the treatment you need. While you are seeking inpatient treatment the duration of treatment can range from 30 to 90 days before transitioning into the next phase of care. 12 Step meetings are available to help you get active in your recovery and support a healthier new way of life. This is achieved by introducing you to support groups and coping techniques to help you on this life long journey.

Equine therapy is one of the specialized therapy programs they utilize here. Horses are highly intelligent and emotional animals who can sense your feelings. Because they are big animals and it can be intimidating, this helps you learn to develop trust again and learn to build strong and safe relationships with others. Horses can also help with easing anxiety and managing depression.

Yoga and meditation help with tending to your mind, body and spirit. Yoga provides many benefits including improving sleep, developing stronger self awareness, and help with pain and stress management. Meditation helps with developing mindfulness, reducing hypertension and improving your mood. These holistic therapeutic approaches can be done in your day to day routine, and they can also be done with your loved ones.

Accepted Insurance

The Raleigh House – Denver works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients entering an inpatient rehab typically require more intensive treatment than those in outpatient care. Clients often start inpatient treatment immediately after completing a detox program. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) engage in a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week on average. However, many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP services are ideal for those in early recovery or who are at an elevated risk of relapse. IOP may be chosen in lieu of inpatient rehab. Treatment modalities typically include psychotherapy, life skills training, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic care.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

At The Raleigh House, we provide a 45-90 day detox and inpatient recovery program designed to address underlying causes and conditions. We treat substance abuse but more importantly we treat the co-occurring disorders that generally accompany the substance abuse. Located just 15 minutes from Denver, our recovery program offers: Detoxification services, residential treatment services but most importantly offers a serene environment on a beautiful 40 acre ranch. Here you will heal from not only substance abuse but anxiety, depression, attachment, trauma, neglect, abuse, shame and grief, codependency, loss, divorce and relationship issues.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

The main principle of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Colorado is that substance use disorders are based on faulty thinking and behavior patterns. The goal of this treatment is to help the individual learn better ways of coping with challenges, which will lead to changes in thinking and behavior.

Dialectical behavior therapy is skills based and present oriented. You'll be asked to keep a diary of emotions and related behaviors and practice the skills you've been learning between sessions. The focus of skills development is on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Therapists who employ motivational interview techniques seek to draw out the client's ideas about change and allow them to draw their own conclusions about the need for change. This method is often effective for clients who feel unsure about their ability to change or the need for change.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Based on the couple's needs, couples therapy may take different forms. Your therapist will probably take an integrated approach, using techniques from several methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic couple's therapy. The goal is to work through challenges and strengthen your relationship.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills are traits you need to be successful during recovery, such as managing stress and interpersonal relationships. During rehab treatment in Colorado, you and your therapist will identify any skills that need to be developed and work on methods to strengthen them.

Rebecca was very unprofessional and rude to me. The organization seems okay, but she was an awful therapist to be around.

The Raleigh House was life changing for me. One of the best decisions I have ever made. From the programs, the staff to growing together with others who are also struggling, it is all top notch. I went for mental health, it is set up for this and addiction/alcoholism. If you know someone who needs help, this is the place. Therapist Michaela, Nicole, Liam, and Toby you have made an imprint on my healing Thank you. To the Director Brian, this guy has wonderful input and cares about the direction of your life. Samantha has a heart to see you succeed when you leave and a heart and spirit unmatched. Rico wants to keep you connected in the future. Last but not least the BHTs Nicole, Shack, Kyle, Spencer, Cole, Trent and Rich you take such good care of us and make us feel like we count and we matter. This place has my heart. There are many staff not mentioned that are just as Fantastic. I literally have never encountered so many impact full, qualified staff anywhere. 100% of the Staff are high quality, knowledgeable and big hearts. Thank you Raleigh house for a new beginning. With love and respect Alicia Higdon

I brought my daughter here after months of trying to convince her to get help. I knew that the environment of Raleigh House, between the art programs, yoga, gardens, and animals, would really speak to the peace she craved. She had insurance that was ending, but the people of Raleigh House worked with us to make sure she would be covered. She came close to dying during detox and had to be taken to the hospital. After a stern warning from the doctors, she took everything very seriously. Stop now or die. From that moment on, she buckled down and took advantage of every opportunity Raleigh House offered her. She approached her rehab with every ounce of her being. Now, after two years, she is still sober and helping others. Raleigh House works if you work with it and don’t fight against the program. Don’t give up.

Response from the owner
Rocky, we are so grateful we could help you and your daughter find the peace you were both looking for. Two years is incredible! Amazing work.

Like anyone that reads these reviews...you are a the type person that does their due diligence before choosing a provider for recovery for substance and/or mental health needs. Like anyone that reads these reviews...you are a the type person that does their due diligence before choosing a provider for recovery for substance and/or mental health needs. I will fist say that overall...the front-line folks (BHT-Medical Staff) at the Raleigh House really do care about the clients...But were more than a few incidents and a few lessons that are needed on how to treat/talk to people respectfully. While not intentional...there seems to be a disconnect between the purpose of recovery vs treating the customer/client with basic respect. Clients are there seeking help from "x" and gain tools deal with those items out in the real world more effectively. The client does not need to feel disrespected or felt like their basic freedoms are non-existent ). This may or may not be an issue for some....but this facility (Denver) is a converted office building...meaning you are under fluorescent lights while you are inside the facility. Food - This can be a divisive item depending on who you are. The big "misses" if they are important to you is there is that there is no caffeine (Also means no “real coffee”), virtually no sugar, gluten is generally not allowed or served. The food catered in is especially bland with really no way to "Spice it Up". If you are into Chicken and Rice (Almost every meal) then you will find this place heaven. There are plenty of healthy options available (Oranges, Apples, blueberries, etc.) and there is an assortment of nuts for snacks. There are other small items such as bagged popcorn, pre-cooked eggs...generally healthy stuff available. If you want to order your own "Healthy" items...there is a non-existent approval process and there is a general unwritten rule that you as the client cannot order your own snacks. If you do order them, they will be held in a locker until you leave the facility. Groups - The groups are kind of a hit or miss. Some are great and you get great insight and learnings from them. Some of them can be very emotional and break-through-ish. The ones that are not so great...they are tolerable enough to sit through as they may not apply to your particular situation on why you would consider coming to the Raleigh House. Overall, the groups give you some great tools to be prepared when you leave the facility. Communication - This is where the Raleigh House needs major improvement. If you need anything outside their norms....like for instance you would like an eye doctor appointment, etc...that request is logged by your case manager and then essentially goes nowhere. This is the case for most items that you would ask for that is outside their regular chain...or really anything that the front line folks cannot answer. A very accurate analogy of how this program feels is that you will be treated like a 17 year old in Juvenile Detention across the board. In short, virtually any request that needs approval goes largely unanswered unless you hound the staff for an answer. This would go for virtually any request or inquiry of any kind. Activities - Get ready for a real disappointment if you looked at the website and thought you would be able to pet/ride horses, go rock climbing, or go to the spa, etc. While those opportunities are available (When they work)...it is just once a week for about an hour and a half...and it is a first come first serve basis. If there are a lot of people at the facility...there is a good chance you could either go...or be left behind and wait until the next week. Overall Assessment - If you are into forced healthy food, being treated at times disrespectfully, trying to navigating through rules that change on a day-to-day basis depending on the mood of leadership and staff (No consistency what-soever)....then this is your place. Remember....you are paying for this experience. My recommendation is a slightly strong "Stay Away" and look for other providers.

Response from the owner
Thank you for your feedback, Eric - We really appreciate the time and care you took in writing about your experience. We are always looking to improve. We are glad you felt like you got something out of our groups and that we genuinely care, because we do. We are really proud of our pro-recovery diet and focus on health and nutrition, as it is one of our core values of treatment.
Again, thank you for this, we really do appreciate your perspective and will take this feedback seriously.

I found myself at the Raleigh House exactly when I needed it. I learned the tools that I needed for a healthy recovery. I was kept busy here, to stay out of my head during a time of personal and mental crisis. The BHT staff were so good to us. I feel like Polina and Ben and Nadia are like family now, they really do care and do everything they can to make the clients feel comfortable. The nursing staff are so kind and respectful. They make sure to take care of you and make you feel safe. Always time to work out and the rock wall exercises really helped my mental health. I will stay connected with The Raleigh House in my next step of recovery, Rico has been a rock for us and gives his all to this program. I recommend The Raleigh House to anyone that needs a soft landing for recovery and peace.

Response from the owner
Adam, thank you for your amazing review! We are so glad to hear that our team, especially Polina, Ben, Nadia, and Rico, provided the support and care you needed during your recovery.
