Jeanne Leo 9 years ago This place is by far and I mean by far the place you send your child when as a parent you have become so self absorbed with yourself, your money or your own life when your child doesn't conform to your lifestyle and has become a liabilty to you, also when you can manipulate the court system to show your hatred of the person you decided to have the child with and decide to send them to this out in the middle of nowhere godforsaken facility. When you send your son to this facilty you can guarantee that he will be surrounded by adults that have no caring or show the least of compassion to your son and if by chance the child has some type of a learning issue you have not found the right individuals to help your child, however large or small that is. This place isnt cheap either, so what the need for such large sums of money that is payed for being that there is no place to spend it, is confusing So lest be known to all that when you send your child here he will be bullied and surrounded by predators (other students), and you have failed as a parent.....and more than likely your child will see as they grow older the same uncaring coldness that you had when you sent your child here... c cameron 9 years ago

Church 3 months ago I don’t know what all these other people are talking about. I was there twice, once in April-July of 2021 and again in June-September in 2022. I also went to 3 other places. Maybe I didn’t have bad mental problems, and it was more just my parents not knowing what to do with me, but as far as teen therapy goes, second nature is absolutely amazing. Spending time outdoors can truly heal a person. I always felt like the food was nutritious, and there was plenty of it. I felt like the clothing was more than adequate for the conditions at hand. I always felt like the staff and therapists were top notch and outshined all the staff and therapists at the other places I was at. Yes, they do send like 90% of kids to “aftercare” or long term RTCs. Those suck, they are generally abusive, and will do damage to your mind. So, to any parents considering, please just send your kid here and then bring them home. But as far as second nature goes, i actually look back on my experiences there in a very positive light. I enjoyed being outside, I enjoyed hiking. I enjoyed the food, and honestly if I was still a minor I would probably go back just for fun. Because myself and a lot of the other kids I was with really enjoyed it. Maybe not all of it, but as a whole, I feel as though it was a very positive experience and helped me a lot. I found that I love camping and hiking, and I spend a weekend or two a month camping to this day. It has helped me deal with the stress of being an adult. I can’t speak for the people leaving negative reviews, and I don’t want to invalidate anyone, but that was the complete opposite of my experience. From the therapists, to counselors, to the front line and shift lead. The staff is great here. The owners are awesome, very personable, and seem to be involved which is nice. I really enjoyed the groups and the one on one with my counselor/therapist. I wanted to make a post because it has been two years since I walked through the doors. I am a first responder (you don't have to be but they work well with them) dealt with stuff at work but also in my personal life. Prior to coming to chateau I drank crazy amounts (whatever your thinking probably more) just to get away from myself, stop my mind, and to feel normal. I didn't even need to be happy, I would pray and plead can I just please feel normal for a few days. I don't even care if I'm happy just not miserable. I decided I was going to end it and had a note written out. Before I did it (nobody knew I had plans till I talked about it at chateau) I was basically forced to go to chateau. That's right I didn't pick it, I was made to go. I had every excuse not to go. What's it gonna cost, how can I make it work with my family, I'm not just some drunk I don't need to go to a detox I need help, all of it. The most scared I have ever been was walking through the doors. They handled everything. They made sure I was good medically, got my meds right, they helped me deal with cravings, they had tons of great therapy, tons of new tools and coping mechanisms I never had, and new ways of taking care of myself. They let you get workouts in, you eat like a freaking king (or queen) and it was the first time in my life I had ever felt unconditional love from strangers. Whatever you did is probably bad, I guarantee 6 other people there at the same time as you have done it. The therapists are the first ones I ever opened up too. I sat in a lot of sessions before this but never was able to have them do what they could there. The staff are largely all people with past trauma, addiction, etc that came out the other side and know what it's like. They don't just say it they lived the same crap you are now. I stayed 2 weeks longer than my 30 days to work on a few things and when I got out I was sober and the normal weeks were back. I even felt happy. You know why you haven't been able to fix yourself? because you're beyond your capabilities. You are not beyond theirs though. They will fix you and will save your life. They did mine. I have a wife and two kids and they would not have me if it wasn't for chateau. I would have never in a million years got a company logo tattooed on me 2 1/2 years ago. I thought it was stupid. Guess who got a chateau tattoo for their first tattoo. A lot of us have. Not because anyone asked us too (in fact they would probably tell us it's impulsive but hey I waited 2 years and still wanted it) but that's the magnitude of what they did for us. That's the kind of company they are. There is no level of gratitude I can show that will match the gift they gave me. Besides just you, they will help teach your family (if they are up for it) about the symptoms while your gone too so they actually understand what is happening when you can't explain it yourself. Once you're out they check in on you, have group chats, a mentor, weekly group meetings, a podcast, and most importantly they help you have a plan when you go back. People don't talk like this about random treatment facilities. People go through dozens before they get clean. This isnt about sobering up or getting through this mess you're in. This is about helping you fix what is broken for good. You wont regret it. Whatever your hesitation is pick up the phone and talk to them. They have ways to help you get there. I wanted to post this not cause I started by believing in them but because I started by doubting them and became a believer. Pick up the phone, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You're loved even if you don't know it, you are worth saving even if you don't feel it, and you can be saved even if you don't believe it. My loved one needed help and a friend recommended this treatment center. My loved one initially had struggles during the beginning of treatment I’m sure, like most everyone does, however once he was able to let his guard down, he was able to encapsulate different techniques, conversations, therapies etc. that helped give him the tools to assist in his everyday stressors. I too was given ‘homework assignments’ to assist in my loved ones’ healing process. What I admire about Chateau the most is that once you leave Chateau they don’t forget about you. There are continued support groups online and text threads that my loved one participates in and the staff are still available if my loved one is struggling. Through these outlets my loved one has gained support and friendships from individuals who weren’t even in Chateau while he was there, which shows great comradery. I am forever grateful for my loved one receiving treatment, and I believe it helped save his life. *One thing to note and I know every situation is so different. In our situation my loved one went to Chateau pretty immediately with little time to prepare (maybe 2 days). That being said, it was the first time he or I have ever experienced going to a mental health / wellness center. We didn’t know what to expect. I did receive a packet of this information a couple of days after he was in Chateau, but we were unable to go over the packet together in particular discussing who he wanted me to share updates about him to, or ask to be included in the ‘homework assignments’ Shannon D 4 months ago As a clinical psychologist who works primarily with first responders, Chateau is my go to for treatment! After 12 months of school and therapy, she was able to actually complete high school early and has launched successfully into her college experience. Thankfully, New Haven offers aftercare options to make the transition bearable- it is a lot to transition from a safety bubble to college life. We appreciate the deep care from all the staff, including the cook and night staff, who all make themselves available to the kiddos when a listening ear is needed. The reason for 4 stars was because we would’ve like to see more daily physical activity included in the program for a healthy lifestyle. However, there were parent weekends to national parks and many outdoor opportunities. In summary, New Haven aims at making families whole and we were blessed to be one of those families. My son was arrested due to his mental illness. In a frustrating system, Natalia was a shining light who worked hard to help my son get treatment instead of prison. She wrote multiple letters to the judge, New Roads came out and did assessments and validated my questions and concerns. If the actual facility listens and cares like she did, I am sure the place would be amazing. It came highly recommended to me from various parents whose loved one's were able to recover, thanks to New Roads. I truly wish my son could have received the help that he needs from a place like this. My daughter was mentally unstable when arriving to Embark. I called several different facilities and Embark was the best option. Family sessions were conducted as needed, the open communication and emails were great to keep me updated with progress. This is the first place that was supportive of my decision not to rush to put my daughter on Meds as soon as possible. My daughter remained at Embark for 4 months and I can say she has matured, developed more self esteem, improved respect and has showed tremendous improvement in her mental health. She currently only taking meds that’ she actually needs but eventually can be winged off. Therapist Ray and Beth has checked on my daughter and means so much to us. My daughter talks about how she’ misses the mountains and all the kind people she met while there. My daughter experienced good days with peers and bad days but every experienced was needed for her growth. I appreciate everyone that was apart of our experience. As far as price holy crap it is pricey lol but there’s payment plan options (if you qualify). Before my daughter was released, a ceremony was held. Now that she’s home, she’s still apart of Embark online Therapy which was also another option. I love it bc her progress and growth continues. LAMarie “LA Marie” T 3 weeks ago i stayed here from 6/16/22 to 9/6/22. i really liked my stay here. i have so many positive memories from embark, like stealing an ice cream bucket and eating it in a closet with broken hangers with my roommates, bug hunting with my favorite staff members (laura and carsen), and so many more. one thing i did not like here was how every time i would level up, a rule would change and i wouldn’t be able to do that certain thing. for example, the “transition room” for the clients on transition, was automatically no longer the transition room when i leveled up, and another example, also while i was on transition, parents could take out their kids for a few days AND overnights while visiting, but as soon as i hit transition, guess what? they took that away. other than that, my therapist cameron was amazing and helped me in so many ways. the staff that worked there when i was there have moved on with their lives and i have too, but i still think about my embark days. nick 3 months ago Embark is a wonderful residential treatment facility for teenage girls. My daughter was spiraling out of control for two years and after trying everything we could, I researched places all over the country and decided on Embark. The entire staff was amazing. The communication we received weekly about the progress was so detailed. The building is comfortable and homey, giving the girls the perfect environment to work on their mental health goals. The therapists were phenomenal. It was three months of intensive individual, group and family therapy. They also provided the structure and routines to help develop character, resilience and responsibility. I can’t say enough good things about Embark. I’ve been to multiple treatment centers, and this one is different. From the moment I walked in, I felt it. The environment is warm and homey, and the staff genuinely care. I’ve never once felt like “just another patient.” Everything is individualized, and they meet you where you’re at. Inpatient is where my life was saved. The nurses and techs are incredibly attentive, especially when you come in with serious medical complications. One nurse in particular took the time to really talk to me when I was struggling to even begin recovery, and that moment made a huge difference. Inpatient can be hard after a while. But it’s not forever, and it gets so much better as you move through the program. Residential gave me more freedom, connection, and space to grow. There are groups where more people engage, time outside, yoga, and even a dance class (RIMBA) that helped me rethink my relationship with movement. The staff here truly care. From therapists to leadership, people take the time to know you, support you, and challenge you in the ways you need. Even small things, like how comfortable and welcoming the space feels, make a difference. Nicole, the CEO, is truly someone special. As someone who has recovered herself, she gives so much hope to patients. She leads groups that everyone wants to go to, and she somehow makes time to get to know people individually. I’ve never been anywhere where leadership is that present and that personal. She really cares. I also have to mention Glenn, who does maintenance but honestly I feel like he’s there to make people smile. He’s one of those little things that makes CFC feel different. There’s a sense of community in the building that’s hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it. CFC also creates moments of joy in recovery, like talent shows, unit games, fundraisers, and outings like thrifting. It reminds you that life can still be fun, even in the middle of something really hard. If you’re reading this, I know how scary things probably feel right now. I want to start by saying my daughter really struggled academically and behaviorally and my biggest fear was sending her to a place that would cause more harm then good. I researched and researched to make sure I found a place that I knew my daughter would be safe in. One thing about New Haven is the family support from other parents. New Haven was recommended to me from another parent who’s child was currently in the program and I am so happy I chose this placement. The first month was the hardest for both of us, her behaviors increased and so did my anxiety, however her therapist and the staff kept me well informed and walked me through all interventions! By month two we saw so much growth and stability from my daughter. The family therapies really helped us learn what she was feeling and how we can get closer as a family. Nursing was exceptional, they are very quick to respond to my questions and I had LOTS of questions regarding medication. They really listen to what my daughter was saying and did everything they can to help her with her symptoms of her diagnosis. The school portion was also amazing, my daughter struggled with school avoid and they worked with her and got her on a path where not only is she going to school and is doing the work and passing! She is very excited to go back to her school and show all her teachers what she has accomplished. The other thing that made me feel very comfortable with this transition to programming was the was the way milieu was ran. When you have 16 girls with 16 different reasonings of why they are admitted can easily create cauois but the staff really created an environment where the girls can grow safely and effectively. But also not to forget the girls really were their for eachother like a sisterhood. The only reason why I chose not to give 5 stars to New Haven was because it is not finaclially maintainable if insurance runs out and have no other source of funding it is very expensive. Although her therapist really advocated for her our Insurance dropped us and we had to leave before the program was completed. If I had to recommend a RTC for your daughter I highly recommend New Haven.
