I had the pleasure of working with Embark Behavioral Health at San Martin for the past year as a therapist, and it was a truly rewarding experience. The team is genuinely committed to bringing joy and healing to clients and their families. Being part of clients' recovery journey was truly fulfilling and it was a privilege to witness clients as they healed, grew, and reconnected with their loved ones.
Embark offers a comprehensive care approach, supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes residential staff, clinical therapists, a medical team, and an academic coordinator. The program provides intensive therapy, experiential activities, life skills training, and academic support, all within a nurturing, home-like environment. The team works closely together to tackle the daily challenges clients face, keeping families in the loop to ensure the best outcomes. Embark’s ongoing commitment to innovation makes a real difference in the lives of clients and their families.
As a new clinician, my time at Embark has been one of the most valuable experiences of my career. I’ve learned so much from the team through our daily interactions and the unique challenges we’ve faced together. This experience has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and I’m leaving with a deep sense of pride in the work we’ve done. I’m confident that the program is in good hands and will continue to thrive.

We took our Son to Embark San Martin and we have had great results so far. Our Son is beginning to turn around after just a few weeks in the program. The staff has been extremely professional and helpful. Right in the middle of treatment, we had problems with insurance denying benefits before our Son is ready to be discharged, and as any parent might feel, this was way beyond stressful, and scary. Throughout this challenge with insurance, all staff at Embark was amazing. They supported us, stood behind us in every way, showed concern and care for our family and our child and didn’t limit their engagement with us to their normal 8-5:00 hours. They were available every step of the way including just checking in on us to make sure we were alright as parents in an unbelievably stressful situation.
We went after multiple appeals and the insurance denial was overturned because we never gave up fighting for the rights of our child to receive appropriate treatment. Our Son continues his treatment there and he has been able to form connections and build trust that is enabling him to get the help he so deserves to receive. My husband and I are very grateful to Embark, and all of the staff, as this will change the life of our family forever.
