I guess I forgot to leave a comment. I want to thank the staff at Palm for putting my recovery above everything. I had an insurance issue that I could see caused a lot of problems for the staff by the amount of time I spent with Jacky and the case manager in the office. No one complained or tried to kick me out. Jeff and Jacky went the extra mile to make sure I was able to stay and receive treatment. Jose had powerful groups! Heather thanks for the outdoor walks. Jackie thanks for allowing me to talk about my defects and deepening my spirituality ( so many people forget it’s a big part of who a person is) and helping me with the plan for when I left. Jeff the boss man and the med room staff I can’t thank you all enough!! Hands down the best service I’ve received. Thank you Palm.

So, I just left Palm treatment/detox center and wanted to leave a review while it’s fresh in my mind. To begin, when I was first getting checked in, a girl was on her way out literally crying with gratitude for how much this place saved her life. You could tell how genuine and appreciative she was. Super heart warming, so that was a good start. Pros to going to Palm Ave: -The staff is great, they genuinely care and all are in recovery themselves so they’re very empathetic. -It’s small, so if you’re someone who is anxious or nervous, don’t be. If I had to guess I’d say they can only hold up to about 15-20 at most and that’s a huge positive when you’re not at your best at don’t want to be around a hundred other people. -Food was very clean, healthy, and always available. -Meds are all taken care of for you, they’ll even pick up your prescriptions and make sure you get them on time, even if you’re asleep, they’re on top of it. -There’s really only one mandatory meeting (NA/AA) but several groups which are optional that I found really helpful and well led. -They don’t press you on where or when you need to be somewhere like other treatment centers do. If you need to sleep- you can sleep. Special shout out to Christian (who helped with meds, he always has good music playing and just a very positive vibe). Also, Tree. I spent ten minutes talking to this man and gained more perspective than I have in probably the last three years. Heather also, very chill and easy to talk to. These people really care. They’ve completely turned their lives around and some have come from really difficult pasts. It’s inspiring to hear their stories. Not to turn this into a novel but I’m just really stoked places like this exist- and free no less with medi-cal. To finish, if you’re struggling at all, just go for a few days. I only stayed a few days bc I had previously detoxed in a hospital but some stay much longer- the choice is yours. Thank you to everyone at Palm Ave. I won’t forget it.

Place is amazing!..Staff is amazing and they take the time to make sure that your doing okay. Not just a cursory.." Good Morning" or " Good Night" They actually take an interest in why your there and what they can do to make your stay as successful as possible. Classes are set up and offered throughout the day to ensure that you have some tools when you leave. There is medical on sight and a caseworker who jumps through hoops to make sure that each client has access to all the available resources in the county. They have a business model that is golden and should be mirrored by similiar businesses.

Elms house and the staff there helped me save my life. I went there for 3 months and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. They do their best with the resources they have. It’s honestly the type of place where you get what you want from the program so you have to really take a good look at yourself and take accountability for yourself and decide what you want and if your ready to put in some work every single day for it. Christine also helped me sign back up for college, I’m in my second semester and loving it. Elms house will always have a special place in my heart and I highly suggest it if you need somewhere to check into and work on yourself for a bit. WHO’S HOUSE?? ELMS HOUSE!!!❤️

Alta Mira has been one of the best experiences ive been able have help me through my recovery. The people were so caring, the surroundings are completely serene and quiet and the overall knowledge and care by the staff is second to none. I came in thinking I would just stay for detox only, but then quickly realized that this was a place I could really settle in with and for the first time take advantage of the full program. The care and staff at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center - ER are phenomenal. The ER team is incredible and all very attentive. Many people came to check in on me and were receptive to all my questions and requests for help. Dr. Sangoi and the huge team of RNs/nurse assistants (including but not limited to Joy, Nick, Sophia, Raquel, and many more that I cannot recall the names of) were extremely helpful and kind. I also appreciate how generous they were with their time. The facilities were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the food was surprisingly quite tasty. Overall, a great ER!

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!! I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" I highly recommend this amazing treatment facility, and hope you do not waste another second deciding on when to start your "road to recovery" at New Bridge - because it starts the moment you say "Yes"..!!! "Thank You New Bridge...!!!" Mike D. 19 Months, 20 Days Sober, and counting..... :) (from date of post)

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table. For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important. There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time. Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules. Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed. Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you. If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor. Every package you get will be inspected. For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches. You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed. Hide your stash. People steal Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it. You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you. Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it Justinzilla

Diablo Valley Drug and Alcohol Services in San Ramon, California, provides addiction recovery services for adults. They also offer specialized care if you have a co-occurring addiction and mental illness. They provide outpatient medical detox under the supervision of a qualified medical doctor. If you’re experiencing alcohol or opioid addiction,
Magnolia was highly recommended by my therapist, and I’m glad i listened to her. This place feels very homey, but at the same time it’s definitely high-end and has a lot of amenities that I don’t think you’d find at many other inpatient rehabs, like a theater room, jacuzzi, gym, resources, beautiful rooms. It’s also really beautiful and peaceful here, which has helped a lot during this process. The group therapy sessions are very intimate, and the people in group are genuinely non-judgmental. I work with Kristine, who has been amazing. Just graduated IOP and i feel confident with getting out there and working on my sobriety personally. Dr. Smeester (“Dan”) is great. He has a very warm and gentle presence, and it’s clear that he really cares about helping people who are struggling with addiction. He doesn’t judge. he listens carefully and accommodates any extra need you need. I had a great experience, and learned a lot. They provide aftercare for all graduates no matter when they graduated. I personally continue to attend aftercare every Wednesday, free of charge.

I can't say enough positive things about this recovery program. I arrived at one of the lowest points in my life—completely defeated by my circumstances and the choices I had made. From day one, the staff were incredibly supportive, compassionate, and motivating. There were at least five times when I wanted to walk out the door, but each time a different counselor met me with understanding, encouragement, and genuine care. They made me feel like I could overcome even the hardest days if I fully committed to the program. The medical team was outstanding as well. Whenever I felt that a medication wasn't working for me, they listened and adjusted my treatment promptly. Their responsiveness made a huge difference in my recovery experience. What stood out most was the compassion and empathy shown by every staff member. They truly make you feel like they're in your corner and invested in your success. The educational classes were informative and reassuring, helping me realize that I wasn't alone in my struggles. The relationships I built with other patients were equally meaningful. The support, encouragement, and camaraderie helped strengthen my determination to stay on the path to recovery. The program also offers frequent outings, which made it feel less like a detox facility and more like a place focused on healing, personal growth, and rebuilding your life. And the food—absolutely amazing. It felt like every meal was prepared by a chef from a top restaurant. Combined with the gorgeous views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, the environment provided a sense of peace and hope that was invaluable during recovery. The rooms are spacious, private, and include personal bathrooms. Honestly, it felt more like staying at a high-end hotel than a treatment facility. I left with a renewed sense of confidence and hope for the future. Recovery is never easy, but this team supports you every step of the way, never letting you lose sight of your potential. They provide the tools, guidance, and encouragement needed to build a better life. If you're struggling with addiction, you owe it to yourself to seek the best care possible. In my experience, Marina Harbor Detox is that place!!!

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.

The MPI Chemical Dependency Treatment Services addiction facility was founded in 1979 and provides chemical dependency services to adults with drug and alcohol abuse disorders. This facility is located in Oakland, California. It’s the oldest hospital based treatment program in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their center partners with many of the m
MPI is an excellent place for anyone seeking a safe, medically assisted detox from drugs or alcohol. The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the doctors were knowledgeable and supportive, and the facility was clean and well maintained. There is a structured daily schedule, but if you’re not feeling well, you’re encouraged to rest and focus on your recovery. The facility also has a phone and laptop policy, but if you have a legitimate need to use your devices, the staff is willing to work with you to find a reasonable solution. Visitation is held on Sundays, but loved ones can bring approved items for patients any day of the week, which is a thoughtful way to stay connected and supported during treatment. Overall, I had a very positive experience at MPI and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive environment to begin their recovery journey.

I was there a little more than 4 years ago. I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control. The food was really good and I loved the weekend special dinners the clients would order.

This place completely changed my life. They run a top notch program and the highly attentive staff see to all your needs with no problems. Doctor Kayman is extremely knowledgeable about the brain and the counseling staff is amazing as well, always offering a listening ear and great advice to help any problems that may arise while in treatment. I would like to personally thank counselors Burt, Sharon and Angus for helping me so much while I was there and needed support. Thank you MPI for everything you do!
