For anyone getting admitted to El Camino Scrivner Center and worriedly checking the reviews to see what type of hospital it is, I would like to reassure you from my recent experience there that it is a great psychiatric ward with very considerate and caring staff :) I cannot speak for all units but on mine the ratio of nurses to patients was 1:4, which beneficial to patients as our needs were met swiftly and we had time to be listened to! I really felt like the nurses wanted me to get better and had time to support me through my struggles. Whenever I was experiencing symptoms, my assigned nurse for the shift was quick to help me and comfort through words and voluntary treatment approved by my psychiatrist while at the hospital. They avoided restraining patients by doing everything to deescalate situations otherwise, while I was there I didn’t see a single person restrained. What I did see, was nurses deescalating situations that would arise and treated patients with kindness instead of invalidating their emotions. At other psychiatric wards, I have experienced terrible treatment from staff, however on the contrary the Scrivner Center staff I interacted with during my hospitalization were trauma informed and treated me humanely and highly above the standard of care I have experienced elsewhere. Going into the hospital here, I was concerned that they would not take my physical health seriously since it’s a psychiatric health focus, however I was once again pleasantly surprised by the wonderful treatment from Scrivner Center. They handled my chronic illnesses very well and called in specialists from outside Scrivner center to assist me with my chronic illness care. On usage of patient phones, I was encouraged to remain social and communicate with my friends and family. There were no time limit constraints on the phones and no one was fighting over them (they had enough phones for everyone) unlike other wards I have been to. We weren’t allowed to call during group therapy activities, however the group therapy and therapists there were beneficial so it made a lot of sense why that was a rule. To anyone reading this being admitted or with family/friends being admitted- please know things can get better from here and that you will get through this— there is no shame in seeking help! Try to go into this hospital with the goal of getting the most out of your stay here! You are stronger than you may realize right now and while I may be a stranger to you I am happy for you that you’re getting help and I’m sure your support system shares the same sentiment :) I hope others are able to share the healing experience I had at El Camino !

This hospital is great for Nurses services. They all come in with help patients in mind. A couple of nurses were outstanding to provide services: Ailan for finding the medical situation and Lourdes who helped 5 nights while I was there. These two are deserved 10 out of 10. And their manager Krisner who helped for getting attention immediately. All these ladies worked at 3 CVE.

Summit Estate Outpatient Program is an addiction treatment provider in Saratoga, California that offers outpatient care for adults across Silicon Valley. The program specializes in intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and dual diagnosis treatment for substance use disorders alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and bipolar disorder.
The Summit Estate Recovery Center is outstanding in every respect. The staff is top notch, highly qualified, professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with. Client needs, both medical and otherwise, are addressed promptly and appropriately. The facility and grounds are beautiful and comfortable. Both are maintained in excellent condition. All meals are prepared by professional chefs skilled in preparing healthy food that supports the special needs of the human body in recovery. The treatment is holistic and includes nutrition, education, group and private therapy, as well as yoga, meditation, and fitness training. After a 28 day stay in the Summit residential treatment facility, I feel confidant and motivated in my continued abstinence and sobriety. The word from my peers in treatment who have experience with other facilities is that Summit is two cuts above the nearest competition. I am very grateful for my stay at summit and the loving care I received there.

Summit Estates has been a lifesaver for my family. I would describe the staff, counseling services, patient commitment and facility with every superlative term in the dictionary. Our family member received inpatient treatment, PHP and IOP through Summit over the course of a year, and we owe Summit a huge debt of gratitude. The staff members are outstanding: Roshin, Judy, Jon, Annee, to name a few. Addiction is a terrible, lonely disease, and the bright spot has been availing ourselves of the support, tools and community offered by Summit. I would highly recommend Summit and wish that anyone suffering from addiction could be treated by the exceptional professionals at Summit.

The entire staff there functions like a well-oiled machine, and they treat their clients with love, compassion, and understanding. The facility and the property it sits on provide a serene and private setting optimal for healing and recovery. The importance of a healthy diet, especially in early recovery, is emphasized at Summit. They provide whole food, organic, chef cooked meals for all who attend their program. This, coupled with top-notch clinical care, enables their clients to recover physically, mentally, and emotionally while attending the program at Summit Estate.

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. Wellness Recovery Retreat Center (WRRC) Review I am beyond grateful for my time at WRRC. The staff here truly cares, and that makes all the difference. Their passion, kindness, and dedication create a safe, healing, and supportive environment. Lindsey Singleton, Program Director – You’ve built a team of winners! Everyone here loves what they do, and it shows. Your dog, Xara, is a magical member of this family, and I’m so happy she became my friend. Caitlin Draper, Therapist – Your insight and patience helped me grow. Thank you for your guidance and for the feedback on my baking skills—it gave me new confidence! Aaron Lieben, Intern Therapist – You genuinely care about the clients. Keep soaking up everything from Caitlin—you’re learning from one of the best! Nikki Geranios, Program Manager – Your hard work behind the scenes does not go unnoticed! You deeply care about recovery, and I appreciate you (and your adorable dog, Oscar!). Michaella Lee, Case Manager – Michaella, you are an absolute angel. Your kindness, patience, and support made all the difference in my time here. You truly make people feel seen and valued, and I’ll always be grateful. Anyone who crosses paths with you is lucky. Also, I only got to meet your beautiful dog, Papa, once, but I’m looking forward to another opportunity to hang out with him when I come back to visit in May! ❤️ Kritika Kailash, Case Manager – I wish we had more time to connect! I hope your grandma and family are doing well. David Pavkovich, Technician – Your goofiness and humor always brought a smile, even in deep personal work. That’s a gift. Rita, Technician & Weekend Chef – I’ll miss our playful banter (even if it confused others)! You always made WRRC feel like home. Charisse, Technician – I appreciate your insight and experience. Our drives to meetings and recovery talks were always meaningful. Suzie Baxter, Technician – I’ll miss our late-night and early-morning talks! You’re the best cat mom ever, and I hope to see pics of your cats someday. Gerry, Facility Manager – Our talks about Kona, family, and recovery were great, and your breakfasts were next level! That ham frittata was amazing! Gina Garcia, World Dance Instructor – Your dance classes were always fun—sometimes easy, sometimes a challenge, but always uplifting! Audrey, Fitness Coach – I admire your dedication! Your workouts were perfectly balanced—not too easy, not too hard, but I felt them for days! August Materazzi, Chef – Your food is healthy, delicious, and well-planned for every dietary need (including my dislike of mushrooms!). You’re a fantastic chef. Gary Johnson, Engineer – We all appreciate your hard work around the house. Hope to run into you in Hawai‘i someday! You should definitely visit Volcanoes National Park again. Cheree Ashley, WRRC Owner Thank you for helping me get to WRRC! Even though I planned on Avila Heights, I’m so grateful for this experience. Congratulations on adding WRRC to your program portfolio! I have to say—I’m extremely impressed with the team here. The staff is outstanding, and I hope you can give them all raises soon because they truly deserve it. They are some of the most dedicated professionals in the field. To Those Seeking Recovery: WRRC isn’t just a treatment center—it’s a family. The staff loves what they do, and that makes the experience 100x better. Their kindness, patience, and dedication create an environment where you feel truly cared for. If you need a place to heal, this is it. Leaving is bittersweet, but I do so with immense gratitude. Thank you, WRRC, for giving me the tools, strength, and hope to move forward. I will always hold this place close to my heart. Mahalo nui loa, Justin G. ☮️❤️🤙🏼

I had been losing my battle with recovery for almost fifteen years when Wellness Retreat was recommended to me. I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. This is more than a Rehab, this is a Wellness Center. If you want a life worth living without drugs and alcohol, start here.

Working with Riviera Living has been an absolute pleasure for me. I have truly enjoyed leading wellness and movement sessions for the residents — their enthusiasm, openness, and warmth create such a beautiful energy in every class. It’s clear that Riviera Living fosters a supportive and uplifting environment, and I feel grateful to be part of it. What stands out most is how deeply the staff cares for their residents. Their dedication shows in everything they do — from thoughtfully organizing wellness activities to ensuring every resident feels included, seen, and supported. The team is always kind, responsive, and genuinely invested in creating a community that feels like home. Thank you, Riviera Living, for welcoming Earth & Ether into your space and allowing me to share movement, breathwork, and healing with such a wonderful group. I look forward to continuing our work together and supporting your residents’ well-being.

My disabled but independent son has been at Riviera living for over a year now. Riviera has a medication room; Pedro is very good at making sure my son takes his medication twice a day. They re-order his medication when needed and have it mailed to the facility. They have a cafeteria that cooks really hearty homestyle meals three times a day and snacks in between. The housekeeper Susan is very aware of everyone that comes and goes. She cleans each room once a week and is like a Mom to the residents. One attendant- Elizabeth saved my son's life when she noticed he was acting strangely and followed him to his room where he had collapsed and was not breathing well. She called an ambulance. Overall, I think that the staff are very vigilant but overworked. I think that they should hire more attendants so there is always at least 2 at a time in each house, even at night. I think it would be better if they opened a cafeteria in each home so that the residents don't have to cross the street to get to the cafeteria. Also- it would be good if they could organize hair cut visits and pedicure visits because my son will not go on his own and cannot cut his toenails by himself. The laundry is down the street so it is inconvenient for the residents to do their own laundry.

I want to give a huge thank you to Silicon Valley Recovery for all the help, support, and healing I received while I was in treatment. My therapist, Nick, was incredible—he truly helped me do the internal work I needed on a personal level. I’m also grateful to my counselor, Joaquin, and to Joaquin and Sam for helping me with all of my legal and DMV issues during my stay. English is my second language, and sometimes I felt a little intimidated—especially when my English felt broken—but everyone there was so supportive. They made me feel at home, accepted, and confident. That meant so much to me. During my time at SVR, I grew a lot as an individual. They helped me build a new way of life, and recovery has shown me how amazing life can be. I’m truly grateful for that. You can really feel the dedication and compassion from everyone at SVR. The love and care they show each client is something special, and it made a huge difference in my experience. The program itself is amazing—I enjoyed every activity, every outing, and every meeting. A big shout-out to housekeeping, the chef, the technicians, the facilitators, the medical staff, the nurses, John, Sonia, and everyone else who works so hard behind the scenes. Thank you for everything you do. This place truly made a positive impact on my life. I’m looking forward to continuing to be part of my SVR family through the alumni program.

I don’t even know where to begin — Silicon Valley Recovery Center changed my life. I arrived here broken, scared, exhausted, and unsure of where to turn next. From the moment I walked in, the entire team accepted me with open arms. They met every need I had, without hesitation or judgment. They didn’t just give me treatment — they gave me safety, dignity, and hope. As a member of the LGBTQ community and an African-American man, I am always mindful of where I seek support. Not once did I feel judged, misunderstood, or discriminated against here. I felt respected, valued, and seen. That alone is priceless. They also welcomed my dog, Asher — which was non-negotiable for me. Not only did they accept him, they loved him, accommodated him, and made sure he had everything he needed. They even went above and beyond and drove me more than an hour away to tour safe housing options for after treatment. That level of compassion and effort is rare. The programming here is incredible — thoughtful, structured, intentional, and truly life-changing. The therapists, counselors, case managers, medical team, and staff are some of the most genuine humans I’ve ever met. The food is amazing, the amenities are comfortable, and the environment feels like a community, not a facility. I came here lost and overwhelmed. I’m leaving grounded, clear, hopeful, and excited for the future. I will forever be grateful for what this place has done for me, and I mean that with my whole heart. If you are looking for a place to heal — a place that treats you like a human being, not a number — this is where you need to be. Silicon Valley Recovery Center saved my life, and I would recommend it to anyone. If they ever need someone to share a testimonial, speak to potential clients, or represent the program publicly, I’m their guy — that’s how deeply I believe in this place. My dream is to come back one day and work here so I can give back even a fraction of what they gave me. Thank you, SVRC — for everything. I am forever grateful.

So, I just left Palm treatment/detox center and wanted to leave a review while it’s fresh in my mind. To begin, when I was first getting checked in, a girl was on her way out literally crying with gratitude for how much this place saved her life. You could tell how genuine and appreciative she was. Super heart warming, so that was a good start. Pros to going to Palm Ave: -The staff is great, they genuinely care and all are in recovery themselves so they’re very empathetic. -It’s small, so if you’re someone who is anxious or nervous, don’t be. If I had to guess I’d say they can only hold up to about 15-20 at most and that’s a huge positive when you’re not at your best at don’t want to be around a hundred other people. -Food was very clean, healthy, and always available. -Meds are all taken care of for you, they’ll even pick up your prescriptions and make sure you get them on time, even if you’re asleep, they’re on top of it. -There’s really only one mandatory meeting (NA/AA) but several groups which are optional that I found really helpful and well led. -They don’t press you on where or when you need to be somewhere like other treatment centers do. If you need to sleep- you can sleep. Special shout out to Christian (who helped with meds, he always has good music playing and just a very positive vibe). Also, Tree. I spent ten minutes talking to this man and gained more perspective than I have in probably the last three years. Heather also, very chill and easy to talk to. These people really care. They’ve completely turned their lives around and some have come from really difficult pasts. It’s inspiring to hear their stories. Not to turn this into a novel but I’m just really stoked places like this exist- and free no less with medi-cal. To finish, if you’re struggling at all, just go for a few days. I only stayed a few days bc I had previously detoxed in a hospital but some stay much longer- the choice is yours. Thank you to everyone at Palm Ave. I won’t forget it.

Place is amazing!..Staff is amazing and they take the time to make sure that your doing okay. Not just a cursory.." Good Morning" or " Good Night" They actually take an interest in why your there and what they can do to make your stay as successful as possible. Classes are set up and offered throughout the day to ensure that you have some tools when you leave. There is medical on sight and a caseworker who jumps through hoops to make sure that each client has access to all the available resources in the county. They have a business model that is golden and should be mirrored by similiar businesses.

I have had an excellent experience at Palm Detox. They reopened and came recommended by members of the community. I was hesitant at first but I showed up embarrassed and defeated. was treated with respect and staff went out of the way to help me. Female lead staff even brought me clothing, books and hygiene from her home because I was in need of deodorant and the stuffuu they had didn’t work. I didn’t ask, she overheard me and another client talking. She brought him some clothing and a notebook. This place has amazing staff. They tend to follow the rules and it’s annoying sometimes cause I’d like to smoke more and have SUGAR. But I do recommend plus they help u find treatment after.

This location was a breath of fresh air compared to other hospitals I've been to. I had to have a biopsy in the outpatient facility. I had four nurses taking care of me at different times through the process and every one had a great personality and made me feel comfortable. I dont remember all of their names but Dr Singh and Roxy were a few that provided exceptional service. Im never going to Good Samaritan again, there's just comparing the two

My sibling was in a terrible medical condition due to alcoholism. The doctor told us he was going to die if he didn’t get treatment immediately. I called all across the country and talked with staff who walked me through the treatment process better than anyone else and offered a reasonable price. I flew my sibling across the country the following day. He is now a completely different person and recovering. They literally saved his life. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They do things the right way. Kind, caring, but firm. Fair price. They know what they are doing. As a seasoned trial attorney, I can tell the fakers from the real deal. These guys are the real deal.
