Baart program in porterville saved my life and my relationship. I was really bad on narcos, taking about 30A day and i wasn't able to get any i would try to find something else to sadify my addiction. I started doing harder drugs . When I heard about Bart program, I really didn't think it would help me. I thought it was just another regular drug program. When the first time I walked into Baart the people I met made me feel that I belong there. They talked to let me know that everything is going to be ok.

This place is necessary to improve the quality of life of many, as well as save many lives. There should be a BAART clinic in every city in every state in the US. I personally knew three people that died because they weren't in a BAART program and using illegal opiates. I know five people that very likely would be dead had it not been for BAART. I awoke with a cop standing over me after I stopped breathing. Important note: if an OD victim gets Narcan, and is revived, they are still in grave danger. Many opiates have a longer systemic half than Narcan, and the patient could stop breathing again. After I was revived by Narcan, I had to stay over-night in the ICU on a Narcan drip. Had that not happened, I would have died. The opiate I ODed on was methadone, which has a systemic elimination half life far longer than Narcan.

Ever since I found Bart program, my life has changed so significantly. It's gotten better. I'm with my children more and everything. I have actually got money to do things with now. The BART program is amazing program and I I really really do recommend you guys to everybody I come across that needs help. I think it wasn't for this program. I'd probably be dead already. I am so thankful for the VA and especially the Tulare Clinic. We live in a country that takes care of it's veterans and, yes, there are some miscues, I've made a few myself, but I am still very thankful and the staff and doctors have given me the care I have needed. There are options, you can always go wait at a non-VA Dr. and wait there and pay for it out of your pocket. I've used my Tri-Care with some success but in the end I prefer my VA, both in Tulare and Fresno.

New Visions genuinely saved my life.
I went for 29 days in May of 2023, and left cause I thought I could it. I was high again 2 weeks later.
They picked me up the second time I went and welcomed me back with open arms.
I was at my lowest. Lost custody of my kids, my bf was cheating and hitting me. We were both addicts, with no way out.
When I went back they assisted me in addressing every problem I had. The counselor I had was amazing, and she made sure I knew I was heard and mattered. I was there around 5 months which is longer than most, but it was exactly what I needed.
I now have over 2 years sober from IV use of meth. I have my kids weekly with a job, my own place, and a vehicle.
Without New Visions staff and support I can honestly say, I would still be alone, at my lowest.
They provided for me in ways I couldn't provide for myself. ♥️

I was officially discharged today and I see that they have a low rating, genuinely speaking from my personal experience. Honorable mention to the following people Ms. Elva amazing woman, very happy and very attentive to her patients and made sure everything was running smoothly and accordingly, Maria she was the one that was with me when I was first admitted and she made me feel safe and comfortable, Mr. Frank another one of the nurses that was assigned to me very attentive and was ready and waiting to handle not only mine but everyone’s needs same as Ms.Elva the security guard Karl amazing guy he sat with me and some other friends I made while being there played uno with us, and just made my few days fun and I appreciate him very much for that Vanessa and Rae for being patient and caring toward all of us during groups and to those who’s names I didn’t get I want to thank you all as well for showing such patience and compassion, I could imagine how stressful and hectic it maybe while working in such a field but you still remain calm and don’t mistreat us. I loved attending this outpatient program. They have a couches and a big screen TV where you can sit and wait for your group to start. Counselors that really care and know what to say to you. If you're serious about your recovery but don't want the commitment of going to an inpatient program which is what I was dealing with it really was amazing. All the staff is always so nice. Lori Keen was my counselor and she just made a big difference to my recovery. And all the people that attend other people going through similar situations are really cool it's cool to meet new types of people

Very welcoming and felt like a home away from home. The most valuable part of VRC, though, is without a doubt their staff. They're all fantastic at what they do and complement each other so well. More importantly, they all genuinely care about your success in the program, and after it. That sincerity stands out in the way they show up for you. Always willing to help in any way they can. As a clinician who regularly refers clients to higher levels of care, including detox, residential, and PHP. First Steps Recovery is always my first choice. Their facilities are beautiful and serene, which creates a safe, grounding environment for healing. Their clinical teams are exceptional, deeply connected to their clients, highly educated, properly certified, and truly invested in recovery. Even the small details matter there; the meals are both nutritious and genuinely enjoyable.

First steps recovery was the best experience I could’ve asked for . First steps changed my outlook on life and has brought peace to my mental health . Zach my counselor/instructor was amazing , very reliable , and always there when I needed him ! Gabby, my therapist , brought me peace of mind and helped me become vulnerable as a man and helped resolve the mental battles in my head ! Frankie , Juan, Ron , Luis , and Jackie were nothing short of the best instructors I could’ve asked for made learning fun and reminded me I am human and can have fun sober ! And to all the techs Sammy<3, Jenny, Chris, Dawn, Jessica, Corie, Sarah, Monya, Isaiah, Cindy, and Bri you guys madey journey here easy and very enjoyable and for that Thank you !! She's like the big sister I never had, I can confide in her about everything and not feel judged and she gives me expertise advice. Treatment center is extremely compassionate and understanding with patients and goes out of their way to make sure everyone is met with viable treatment that works well for them. I’ve gone through several programs & my counselor Melissa especially is the best I’ve ever had in getting help- she has helped me get the assistance that I did not know I needed in some ways. The center is absolutely amazing, and I would recommend it to anybody who needs treatment or help.

So after using a salinas clinic force few years and being here for about 7 years I can tell you with certainty that this is the place to go. First off Anthony and mike at reception are AMAZING, Anthony knows his job better then any receptionist ive ever talked to, and mike holds it down so no fights or belligerent people come in. Then curtis, he might not be your best friend, you might even kinda hate him but no matter how you feel or what you do curtis will help you, but listen he will not take no BS i tried lol. Then the new director steve whos been there a month or 2, i dont know him to well but from what i can see, he know his job well, hes very calm mannered and truly want to help people, hes a good guy. And the councilors got a pretty fast turn around i think ive had 10 different councilors there some bad some good, but under steve and curtis leadership the last few months i was there i kept getting impressed by the councilors, i had trevor when i left, and hes is awesome, again his main goal is to help you, hes there more of a friend rather then a authority figure but hes always pushing you to do better without holding onto your mistakes, the best thing is i was able to be 100% honest with him and not once did he say anything to make things hard, he listens to ya pushes you to do better then trys to find any resource you might need to be successful, AMAZING staff. This comes from the guy who has cussed out half of the staff too. I really try to not let things get to me but unfortunately I have had confrontation with the past 3 head directors there to the point of me saying things I wish I hadn't but the patients and ability to actually listen is incredible here. Like with me getting dope sick and cussing Curtis out he holds his cool, holds his ground and sat with me until we both were happy with the outcome, and its crazy, your really mad about some bs, you go and try to compain then start cussing but when its over the people you were fighting and that you thought dont give a crap ends up being more of a friend there ya know. After fighting curtis every time i saw him its hey man whats up, not holding grudges, making crap hard instead its curtis saying i hope things are getting better, if they are hes happy and goes on, if not he wil offer to sit with you and clear it up. this happened multiple times (im sorry Curtis ) I had a councler who was new and was trying but honestly was the worst listener and worst councilor I've had, I tried for weeks to get switched and it ended with me talking to curtis and that crappy councilor in a room and me explaining to this guy how to listen to a person when they talk, I told him to his face I dont like you and want nothing to do with you. Again saving grace Curtis comes and after that meeting with him things got better after 2 weeks then that councilor disappeared (not fired im pretty sure he just got a job elsewhere). Im just saying this to let any one know that if you go here the staff will hold there ground with what they have to do but they will also go to bat for you any time you need. Every staff member I had confrontation with, ended with a pretty good outlook on each other rather then what normally happen every where else l, after a incident they hold grudges against you and make things hard till you leave. Again this place after 7 years I would recommend. Im living in salinas and for the first month or 2 I drove to fresno to get my weekly bottles until I was set in monterey county. This place won't do everything you want but they will do EVERYTHING In there power to help. Anthony, steve, Trevor, curtis, mike, and everyone else ESPECIALLY the nurses, Mia is amazing nurse, lin knew everything but a little slow, Renee always has answers for anything you have and i cant believe I lost the last nurse name at windows 3. Regardless nursing staff AMAZING. I really hope anyone that actually read my entire post can see that this is all true.
