I went for 29 days in May of 2023, and left cause I thought I could it. I was high again 2 weeks later. They picked me up the second time I went and welcomed me back with open arms. I was at my lowest. Lost custody of my kids, my bf was cheating and hitting me. We were both addicts, with no way out. When I went back they assisted me in addressing every problem I had. The counselor I had was amazing, and she made sure I knew I was heard and mattered. I was there around 5 months which is longer than most, but it was exactly what I needed. I now have over 2 years sober from IV use of meth. I have my kids weekly with a job, my own place, and a vehicle. Without New Visions staff and support I can honestly say, I would still be alone, at my lowest. They have a couches and a big screen TV where you can sit and wait for your group to start. Counselors that really care and know what to say to you. If you're serious about your recovery but don't want the commitment of going to an inpatient program which is what I was dealing with it really was amazing. All the staff is always so nice. Lori Keen was my counselor and she just made a big difference to my recovery. Honorable mention to the following people Ms. Elva amazing woman, very happy and very attentive to her patients and made sure everything was running smoothly and accordingly, Maria she was the one that was with me when I was first admitted and she made me feel safe and comfortable, Mr. Frank another one of the nurses that was assigned to me very attentive and was ready and waiting to handle not only mine but everyone’s needs same as Ms.Elva the security guard Karl amazing guy he sat with me and some other friends I made while being there played uno with us, and just made my few days fun and I appreciate him very much for that Vanessa and Rae for being patient and caring toward all of us during groups and to those who’s names I didn’t get I want to thank you all as well for showing such patience and compassion, I could imagine how stressful and hectic it maybe while working in such a field but you still remain calm and don’t mistreat us. I am looking forward to better days with staying at baart . It has been over 30 years in and out here with doing detox when they offered that. I have finaaly got sober and stable with my dose of methadone that helps me stay stable now, I will say you get what you put in if no effort no nothing.
