This place changed my life. I didn’t think I could. They’re amazing. They treat you like a person, not an addict. The counseling I get is very helpful but they’re treatment in me alone is what help me just being treated like a regular person matters so much when you’re going through this. Cannot think them enough they are giving me my life back💗

I cannot say enough about this place, I’ve been to other methadone clinics before but this one surpasses them all! The Doctor is absolutely amazing she’s so smart and compassionate. Ceola is my counselor and she is so smart and so capable, She’s one of the best problem solver I’ve ever met. She’s super responsible and has helped me in my journey tremendously. I can honestly say that I have never had a counselor that has been so educated and knowledgeable! Having her as my counselor and having this particular Doctor has helped me get my life back and my children back. The extent that my counselor has gone for me To help get my life back in order is just absolutely Amazing they should literally get paid triple!I normally don’t write reviews but I think it was so necessary to let people know how great they are. Motty And DC working at the front desk are also amazing! And miss Letta Has helped me a lot also!

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. I left to go to harmonic solutions and returned to Baart for the counseling. The counselors truly care and are here to help you if you allow them. The front desk staff is kind and. Efficient. Tae is an absolute delight and always goes above and beyond To help with any issue. Anthony isn’t my counselor but he spent over an hour listening to me on a bad day and gave me so many positive coping skills and ideas to better communicate. Steve the security guard truly cares about all the patients and wants the best for everyone attending the program. He goes out of his way to be sure you feel safe while at the clinic and your property is also secure.

I came in for an intake and was a bit nervous on what to expect. The medical assistant Taye was amazing! He made me feel not so embarrassed to be in my current situation. Overall the process was smooth and I appreciate Taye for making me feel seen and heard. He even provided me with resources I didn't even know were available to me.

I used to attend the BAART clinic on Cutting Blvd. It was back in the 90's and early 2000's. Dr. Kyle Moore is an excellent Dr. and person in general.Areka was the receptionist I believe. They encouraged me to remain clean and he even wrote a letter to the Judge for me to allow me 2 months to allow me to taper off before I went into custody. Great group of people and I like this clinic because of them and the medication isn't watered down! Which has happened to me at other clinics!👍

Al mismo tiempo, tambien se puede acudir a un medico para un chequeo fisico. Se agradece enormemente su profesionalismo, desde las llamadas que devuelven cuando uno deja mensajes, hasta los diagnosticos que el personal medico realiza a los pacientes. Hasta se les pueden contactar al personal medico via correo electronico. Si hay estacionamiento pero, es limitado debido al espacio siendo pequeno. Despite this place being a small health clinic, the medical staff does step up with their professionalism. Supposedly, this place is meant for those who are looking to solve their addict problem. At the same time though, people can see a physician here for a physical check up. Truly appreciate their professionalism from the personnel returning phone calls when people leave them messages, to the personnel being able to give patients their diagnostic. People can even contact the medical staff via email. There is parking available but, it is limited due to the space being small.

Though it was my wrong twice...I learned a lot. It's been humiliating being on both side of the bars but you guys made everything so easy and no judgement. The whole team at Alternatives are extremely helpful with the whole shabang! So thanks 🙏 and may I NEVER see you again! Grateful!!!!

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table. For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important. There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time. Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules. Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed. Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you. If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor. Every package you get will be inspected. For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches. You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed. Hide your stash. People steal Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it. You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you. Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind. Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

I love this place. It saved my life

After almost 5 years of continued sobriety, I can honestly say programs like this only work if you are willing to admit you have a problem, stay accountable, and genuinely put effort into your recovery. A lot of the negative reviews here seem to come from people who expect results without consistency, honesty, or responsibility. Recovery is not easy, and no clinic can do the work for you if you are still trying to manipulate the system instead of change your life. From my experience, the staff here have always been respectful, supportive, encouraging, and available whenever possible. At the same time, people need to understand that counselors, nurses, and staff members are dealing with many patients every single day — including individuals who repeatedly miss appointments, ignore expectations, or waste the time and energy of people who are genuinely trying to help them. Staff members are human too, and I think many of the complaints fail to recognize the amount of patience required to work in this environment day after day. What stands out the most to me is that this clinic encourages actual recovery and accountability instead of simply handing out medication and sending people on their way. If you consistently show up, communicate honestly, and take your sobriety seriously, the support is absolutely there. I also want to specifically recognize the director, Kim, because she is honestly one of the most compassionate, respectful, genuine human beings I have ever met. The amount of patience, understanding, and support she gives to people — even during difficult situations — deserves recognition. She has played a huge role in my recovery journey and continues to support people however she can, even when she does not have to. Running a program like this cannot be easy, especially while dealing with so many different personalities and situations, but she continues to show professionalism, empathy, and strength every day. At the end of the day, recovery only works when the individual decides they are truly ready. No program is perfect, but in my experience, the people working here genuinely care about those who are serious about changing their lives.

My five star Review Support is to Lynda She always make me feel comfortable . She does not show favoritism with nobody . But when it comes to her job, she do not play The only reason I’m still here Me and my sister Tristan Here because of Lynda …. Now Kim Is so rude make multiple people feel uncomfortable Try to go to her with a question She always have an attitude and very rude. She Does not seem to care about the patients and their sobriety.

MPI is an excellent place for anyone seeking a safe, medically assisted detox from drugs or alcohol. The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the doctors were knowledgeable and supportive, and the facility was clean and well maintained. There is a structured daily schedule, but if you’re not feeling well, you’re encouraged to rest and focus on your recovery. The facility also has a phone and laptop policy, but if you have a legitimate need to use your devices, the staff is willing to work with you to find a reasonable solution. Visitation is held on Sundays, but loved ones can bring approved items for patients any day of the week, which is a thoughtful way to stay connected and supported during treatment. Overall, I had a very positive experience at MPI and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive environment to begin their recovery journey.

I was there a little more than 4 years ago. I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control. The food was really good and I loved the weekend special dinners the clients would order.

This place completely changed my life. They run a top notch program and the highly attentive staff see to all your needs with no problems. Doctor Kayman is extremely knowledgeable about the brain and the counseling staff is amazing as well, always offering a listening ear and great advice to help any problems that may arise while in treatment. I would like to personally thank counselors Burt, Sharon and Angus for helping me so much while I was there and needed support. Thank you MPI for everything you do!

My children attended an event here and had many great things to say my 2nd grader even admitted that she wants to go there for preschool 😯

This is such a great place I found out that I can get something to eat and get help with my other situation I had such a great day yesterday unfortunately I don't like taking pictures of situations like this I will always have to ask because of the privacy but great place
