Bellflower, California | Angel Step Too is an addiction treatment center offering inpatient residential treatment programs for women and children in Bellflower, California. They provide community resources, addiction treatment programs, domestic violence support, and therapies. Part of Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs (SCADP), Angel Step Too is a Los Angeles | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Angel Step Too is a genuinely supportive and healing environment for women in recovery. I had a very positive experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a structured but comfortable space to get back on track.
One of the highlights was Caroline, the group facilitator. She was deeply spiritually in tune and took us on walks that felt more like soul check-ins than just getting outside. She shared so much of herself with us, which helped open the door for deeper conversations and real growth. Her presence added a lot of meaning to my time there.
My therapist, Andrew, was also excellent. He really listened and gave me practical tools to work through some tough emotions. I felt heard and understood, which isn’t always easy to come by in treatment settings.
The living situation is a step above many other programs. You live in a house with about five women, which allows for a sense of community without feeling overwhelmed or constantly monitored. It was nice to be able to nap between classes or just have quiet time when needed. Privacy is respected, and that helped me recharge and stay focused on my recovery.
Amenities and perks:
• There’s a TV in the house, and all meals are provided.
• They take Medi-Cal, which covers the program.
• You might be in a bunk bed depending on the house, so be prepared for the possibility of a top bunk.
• One of the fun comforts: they get Porto’s delivered often – those little desserts were such a treat!
• They take you food shopping every other week, or you can have food delivered. They even make smoke shop runs, which, while not for everyone, shows they try to meet residents where they are.
• All transportation to medical appointments, court, and other necessities is provided.
All in all, Angel Step Too gives you structure without suffocation, and that balance made a huge difference for me. It’s a peaceful, supportive place to do the hard work of recovery.

The staff at Casa are top-notch. The high quality programming is really where this facility shines. Everyone from the owner to the cleaning staff was integral to my recovery and motivation. I always felt valued and safe.
Grace House (the nutrition/eating disorder house) has a special place in my heart. I suffered from a severe eating disorder for over 5 years and finally feel like I’ve overcome it. The dietitians, Hanna and Juliette, are very knowledgeable and great at their jobs.
The accommodations are clean and very home-y; the vibe is definitely not institutional or hospital-like. I loved the neighborhood cat too.

Casa Capri Recovery is truly the most wonderful and clinically strong all-female program I've ever encountered. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review
My brother recently completed the detox and residential program at iRely Recovery, and the experience was truly life-changing for him and our entire family. We were terrified when he first entered treatment—he’d struggled for years with both addiction and underlying mental health issues, and nothing seemed to stick. iRely was the first place where he was treated like a whole person, not just a “case.”
From day one, Dr. Juli Meza and the entire clinical team were incredibly attentive, compassionate, and professional. The medical supervision during detox was exceptional. They kept us updated, and my brother said he felt safe and cared for throughout the entire process. It was the first time he ever made it through detox without feeling abandoned or overwhelmed.
Once he transitioned into residential treatment, we saw a real shift. The structure of the program—daily therapy groups, individual sessions twice a week, family therapy, and constant support—gave him the stability and direction he desperately needed. The therapists were skilled, patient, and deeply invested in his progress. He actually looked forward to sessions, which has never happened before.
What stood out most was their dual-diagnosis approach. For the first time, someone addressed BOTH his addiction and his mental health symptoms in a coordinated, thoughtful way. His mood improved, his thinking became clearer, and he finally started understanding what was driving his behavior.
The staff is warm, nonjudgmental, and incredibly supportive. The environment is clean, organized, and feels safe. My brother participated in everything—from cognitive therapy to mindfulness to relapse prevention—and he came out more confident, hopeful, and grounded than we’ve seen him in years.
Our family learned a lot too. The family sessions helped us rebuild communication and understand how to support him without enabling. It gave us hope again.
Today, he’s sober, stable, and genuinely excited about the future. iRely Recovery gave him the foundation he needed to truly start over, and we’re forever grateful.
I would not hesitate to recommend this program to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, high-quality care for themselves or a loved one.

I’d like to start off by saying that if it wasn’t for Alta Centers, I’d either be in jail or worse. I definitely wouldn’t be honored with an opportunity to leave this review. Alta Centers and its professional Staff literally save my life. They didn’t turn their back on me when I showed up in a drunken blackout. Not once but four times within a span of one week. Apparently I kept leaving and have little to no memory of these events. Today I admit to my inappropriate behavior because the person that was broken and in a dark place the day I showed up is not the sober person that’s leaving this review. The Staff literally cared and showed me love throughout my stay there because I didn’t have it for myself. Everyone played a VITAL role in my Recovery, Shannon, my Case Manager pulling me aside several times during my stay and helped me come up with a solid plan for my discharge, and after Care,
Lee, Alta Center’s Chef by convincing me to return to Alta Centers during my drunken binge and providing top-notch meals on a daily,
Ana, the owner for showing compassion and Care for me and allowed space for any concerns that me or the other clients needed. Ilya, my Therapist, who really provided a safe place for me to vent, keeping me engaged in my concerns or problems and providing me with useful feedback, Jordan Jackson, T, Carboni, Jolyon, for feedback when I was questioning things about myself, or my progress.
Keely for her world of knowledge and insight to my situation.
Jade for providing me with ideas on how to approach my issues pertaining to my relationship with my daughter.
Deanne for providing an ear for me to vent and giving me no BS kinda feedback.
Maxine for helping me see hope when I couldn’t see or feel it for myself.
Silvia, Alta Centers nurse for not only caring for me, but being present if I’d needed to vent.
Other Staff members who moved on to bigger and better things in their respective lives, Eden, Lee, Jennie, page Alex and others who left a huge imprint in my life.
I could write so much more but the blessings provided to me by this place.
If you’ve read this far, thank you for your time, patience and I’m guessing you get the point that I’m trying to make.
Alta Centers wasn’t just a rehab for me. It became my home away from home and inherited lifelong friendships.
I don’t say it lightly when I tell you this place is and it’s Prifessional Staff literally save my life and probably kept me away from a prison sentence. If you know you know and you know who you are lol. Thank you for not letting me drive that day.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone of you. I will forever be indebted to you guys/gals for giving me my life back and loving me when I couldn’t love myself, let alone look at myself in the mirror.
Lastly, if you want to sober up and need professional Staff who really do care and don’t shoot their wounded, then Alta Centers is the place you need to go to.
Be forewarned, the desperation and work needs to come from you. Surrender to the process and watch how your life and the lives of your Love ones, who were caught in the crossfire, blossoms before in your eyes

Los Angeles, California | The Nexus Recovery Services center is located in Los Angeles, California. This facility offers multiple comprehensive recovery services to adults battling with drug and alcohol abuse and co-occurring disorders. Each service is focused on providing individualized care as it is a center that believes that no standardized drug treatment meets each per | Treatments Programs Payment Options | If you are like me, you have been tirelessly researching online or calling various sober living facilities - feeling heartbroken, lost, desperate, and confused - all while facing a decision which would directly impact the livelihood of a loved one. No pressure, right? My family member had just completed rehab outside of Los Angeles and needed a sober living facility with good and honest people to help them adjust back to “real life.” All I knew at this point in my search is what I wanted for them. I was looking for a sober living facility where they would have focus on the program, be given the direction and guidance of counselors with care, be introduced to meetings around LA, all leading up to the goal of steering them back to a healthy and positive life. The real (and scary) answer is these places are hard to come by. I unfortunately saw that first-hand. Now to get to why I NEEDED to write this review. Nexus. 5 letters that make up a word I want to shout from the rooftops with such profound gratitude. Yes, my family member chose to do the work, take it seriously, make it a priority in their life, but it is also about who you surround yourself with. Nexus gave my family member a community bringing people into our lives which have changed it for the better. Nexus gave my family member counseling which has opened them up to realizing their true potential without the need of drugs or alcohol – they are just grateful to be walking in their shoes sober. And one of the most important attributes of Nexus you may ask? Those that run the program. Halim, Johnnie, Rob, and Dano. I will never forget the first night I talked to Halim. And I say “talked” as if it was only one time. We spoke at least 10 times and he was a savior. He picked my family member up from somewhere where they were drowning and brought them to the Playa house. I was in a different state and was powerless but Halim was there. How could I have been more fortunate? I am forever indebted to the people that work at the Playa house (house manager, supervisors, techs, case managers, drivers) and the program Nexus has brought to our lives. Nothing is more important to me then family, and Nexus gave me my family back.

I was stumbling around the barren wasteland of treatment centers desperate enough to buy the guise of empathetic adversaries stating they care for you promising water and nourishment only to be a mirage in the futile landscape (south Florida).
So I showed up on a rainy day in Los Angeles and was greeted by great staff, met my therapist Melissa (amazing person and professional) and started group therapy. Delena, a group therapist at Nexus, is a god send and at this point I believe she might literally be an Earth Angel that brings light to all of the darkness that we think we believe when we get sober.
I started to have hope for my future and felt like the impossible was now possible. Somewhere in the mix I met Kurt (another group therapist) I don’t know what exactly he does or how he does it... but he changed my life because I was always seeking answers to questions unattainable or that others never had the capacity to answer... but the best way to talk about Kurt is to not talk about Kurt and let people experience spirituality on THEIR terms!
All the staff is wonderful shout out to UA Nick.
Big Jeff will help you with all of your outside stuff legal, work ect but also knows what he is talking about in recovery and in spirituality. Halim Daniel is the go to guy for pretty much anything. He holds his staff just as accountable as the clients.
Lastly, I’d recommend this place for anyone serious about recovery. The best testimony comes from clients and past members and what stands out to me is that a lot of past members are still sober or clean. We are all pretty close too. If you are fed up with the treatment industry I understand how you Feel. There is real solution and hope here and more than that to me is the amount of love ❤️

When my 19 year old son completed residential treatment I began the search for an outpatient program that could supplement his sober living. From the very first phone call to Nexus I knew we had found the right place. The initial contact was loving, warm, and encouraging which was exactly what I needed in those early days of his sobriety.
Over the course of his seven months at Nexus those same traits from that first phone call grew and worked magic on my son. I can’t know what happened daily or even weekly at Nexus, but I know the changes I saw in my son. The young man he was destined to be was awakened and nurtured by Nexus. They kept me informed along the way and I was able to participate in a wonderful family program weekend.
Today my son is in college and living a productive life. We both credit Nexus for providing him the space, support, insight and love he needed to move into this next chapter. I am forever grateful to the staff at Nexus.

We left due to my husband's work needs but found that after leaving we went from Senior on highschool level education for recovery into a program that feels really elementary. Special shout to Kam for going above and beyond the expectations of a group facilitator and case manager. We appreciate everything this company has done for us in our lives as individuals and as a married couple as well.

This place actually does. They bend over backwards to get everyone the specific care they need. I needed an AA meeting every day and a ride to the gym. They brought me EVERY day.
The staff at MHC is incredible with most of them being PHD level clinicians. But every one provides life changing therapy. EMDR, changed the way I thought. Trauma therapy told me that I make sense. DBT gave me the skills to handling anything. I wanted to die. I don’t anymore. They saved my life and there isn’t another place like it.

A great experience overall. Would love to specifically call out Doug, a therapist who works here. He, like so many other therapist at the MHC, did a really good job in individual sessions at really addressing the problem and being honest. It seems like he really cares about his patients and has been doing great work. Sarah as well. Those are the two I would reach out to call about.

I ran away from Socorro on one of our trips to a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. I was spooked the 1st night I spent there because I heard a lot of whispering and that scared me straight. Other than that I’m sure it is an excellent place for treatmeant.

If you use more than 3 tiny creamers they get mad and say this is why we can't have nice things lol 😂 the people and program is what you make it but it's just hilarious to me that 3 creamers pisses them off when they make over 7000 off one person a day 😂😂😭 also if you complain to upper management they block you and the Jen woman will text you a dozen times asking if you want to be in the program even when you've been in the program over a month they are clueless but I enjoy it me and my wife I'm sober and I quit cigarettes I guess you just do the best with what you get

Where do I start... Came to "rehab/treatment" due to a open court case. The Lord Jesus Christ has used this treatment center as a means to free me from my slavery of alcohol. I have been attending True Recovery as a client for 14 months, consecutively. The staff here connect to clients on a personal and friendly level. I have become close with many staff members and not once, do they belittle or overstep boundaries, but approach individuals on a empathetic level. Jade, I've met a wonderful friend. Michael, you are so kind. Matt, you are so knowledgeable as an instructor. Brandi, since day one you were so sweet. Forgive me if I have not mentioned you by name...
If you guys are seeking a treatment center, I highly advise this place. This place is legit.
