There are many other staff members like BHT’s ensuring safety, on site RN’s and Providers to provide immediate medical care and insight, staff who provide transportation to and from necessary locations, maintenance staff ensuring a clean and kept up environment, and amazing chefs providing meals to nourish and encourage health. Donald Wilson 1 month ago Before I entered ABC Recovery I couldn't even walk on my own. I had to use a walker and was on 3 liters of oxygen 24/7. I could only go 20 yards before having to stop and catch my breath. I started to have seizures and felt like I was on the cusp of death. After one month there I could walk without the walker and was down to only being on oxygen 6 hours a day. They accommodated me by giving me a downstairs room in the courage house because I have congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Every meal was good if not great, there was never any meal put in front of me that was not edible. The nursing staff never had anything more than a smile when dealing with me and I was a high maintenance client. They made many appointments for me and got me there on time and back with minimum waiting. I had the best counselor Sarah , who played a huge part in saving my life by teaching me coping skills needed to live clean and sober. My county worker was excellent and found me the best sober living that I could ever be placed at. My case manager and family counselor were both extremely helpful. Everyone that works there including the techs really seem like they care. I felt very safe and secure there and was taught a lot and felt a lot of love and care from everyone . With that being said, it is a smaller treatment center with a small number of staff which results in a disorganized feeling to the program and a LOT of repeat groups which got very boring. Plus a lot of time is spent sitting around doing 'self support' because they don't have enough staff to run groups and do one on one sessions at the same time. And don't be fooled when you hear them say this is not a 12 step program; 12 step meetings are MANDATORY. and one last thing: I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEIR SOBER LIVING... unless you like sleeping in very cheap bunk beds and tight quarters with upwards of 8-9 people at a time. I am not saying I don't think this is a good program, because it is and I got a lot out of it but I think there is a lot of room for improvement from Kiloby. Give it a try if you want to try something different that really gets to the core of your issues. Update, 5 years later: After re-reading my review, and the reviews of others who have left a rating, I truly think The Kiloby Center deserves at least a 4-4.5 Star rating. On reflection, the work I did here changed my life more than any of the other programs I've been to. The comments I made about the sober living seem so trivial now.. I can honestly say, for a smaller treatment center, Kiloby did their best and still managed to make a bigger impact on my life than any other 'rehab'/program.
