When I decided to seek treatment for my alcoholism, I searched for hours online to find a place. I discovered Desert Willow Wellness and agreed that it could be a good fit. Well, it was more than that. I was initially committed for detox only, yet I felt so comfortable that I decided to stay for treatment. The facility is very peaceful and relaxed. The privacy- to be able to have your own casita is such a bonus when you need to have some solitude or time to unwind or meditate. The therapy, group sessions and varied treatment tools are amazing. Although it is a lot of work (mentally and emotionally) to attend these treatment sessions, I always looked forward to participating. The staff is beyond amazing. The founder, Kurtis Girard, is the real deal. He is gifted, respected, and has a way to make people feel comfortable. He has also done an awesome job at hiring such a diverse group of employees; each with their own incredible knowledge, experience, gifts, and personalities. I am forever grateful that I chose to give myself the gift of sobriety and I am forever grateful that Desert Willow Wellness was and is a part of my journey.

Nobody ever wishes to end up in jail or dead, no one really wants to be alone, and nobody actually thinks that the decisions we make in life will cost us dearly. Most of the time, we believe we can be ok after the choices we make, but life gets real really fast, and the time to think about what you're doing runs out, and when that alarm goes off, we lose everything, and everyone you cared about is in pain with broken hearts!! If you had one choice to make before your time is up, choose to call Desert Willow Wellness, they are the picture portrayed in the meaning explained and describing the word FAMILY. People, professionals, yes, but people more, who actually care about your well-being and really mean it when they say, "I GOT YOUR BACK!" Thank you ALL at D.W.W. for being there for me and showing me that there really are people who care!! I LOVE YOU!!

A wonderful place with a compassionate, professional and caring staff. Entera Cathedral City is in a perfect location that feels safe and has everything recovery that is needed nearby. I would recommend Entera to any one needing a sober living facility who is looking for coping tools/classes and mentorship along with a wonderful fellowship. The place is super nice and very clean and presentable. The grounds are very clean and welcoming for everyone to congregate in. The pool is always clean and refreshing. The weekly meetings are positive and helpful. The life coach is amazing and he remembers everyone's names. That always stands out to me when someone remembers my name. If you run a good program and work hard you will get a lot out of your stay at Entera. If you don't you will not last long. The bad ones weed themselves out quickly.

*October 2025: My first time getting help & going to a recovery center, everything about Hemet Valley Recovery Center was welcoming, transparent & beyond my expectations. HVRC saved my life & has helped me find my life purpose again. *Initial phone call: Medicare availability & insurance requirements checked. Told to bring my own pillow & blanket & scheduled for a driver pick-up. *Drive to facility & intake: Donnie answered all of my general questions w/ a calm drive. I walked through the intake forms, insurance paperwork, general overview of detox & expectations of the program. *Detox: Supportive Dr. Raja, skilled nursing staff, hospital meals tailored to my nutritional needs & wants, a room to sleep, heal & detoxify my body, I felt confident on my recovery journey. Proximity to the ER is a plus if I needed a higher level of care due to complex medical issues. *Counselors: All patients are assigned a counselor. Check-ins on individual situations & progress of your rehabilitation process. They are kind, compassionate & loving humans. *Classes: Daily schedules have a variety of holistic rehabilitation classes. Lectures, experiential groups, healthy lifestyles, meditations, yoga, Native American circles, NA/AA meetings, recovery planning, Men & Women’s groups, Just for Today talks, arts & crafts, HVRC has it. Hands down the best learning experience I have ever done (& continue in my personal recovery plan) was “Pain Group” w/ Sherry Burditt, RN, HN-BC (AHNA Board Certified Holistic Nurse) for 5 weeks. A progressive learning experience allowed me to use self-discovery, emotional healing & spiritual growth to face past demons, learn about my own energy (Chakras) & love myself again. *HVRC Community: For nearly 90 days, I was immersed in the HVRC family. People you share your days & nights with, along with your thoughts, feelings, assignments & food, to the nursing staff, counselors, administrative staff, drivers, the house senior residents/house managers to daily HVRC volunteers, people are supportive, kind & are there to do what is best for mankind: sustain an environment of caring, client-first vibes. *PHP (partial-hospital patients): Having lived in both female houses, they both provide a calm & healing environment. I have fond memories of rides full of people to & from the center, trips to the ATM or appointments, NA & AA meetings & Soboba’s talking circle. *Outings: Nails/pedicures/haircuts, AA meetings, doctor appointments/imaging, ATM, Soboba talking circle. *Family Weekend: AMAZING experience. Run by Lisa, it is a weekend of family & loved ones learning about addiction. Not just the disease itself, but how to support their loved one in & out of treatment, expectations of their loved one coming home, & a session for me & my family to start the healing process. *Continuing care & Alumni meetings: Thursday nights: an in-person continuing care program that supports HVRC alumni. Counselors offer support in multiple ways. Next is the Alumni in-person/Zoom AA/NA meeting. A great night for a meeting & connecting with so many others who are going through the same thing that I am: staying clean & sober. *HVRC Alumni events: President Jeff does a GREAT job sharing where the donated money goes. Helping clients with prescriptions, housing & other necessities, to fun things for clients & staff with auction baskets, sit-down dinners, arts & crafts, hiding Easter eggs & Sam the Leprechaun, supplying treats to buy at the Alumni store, cookouts, individual gifts, Veteran recognitions, & more!! HVRC Alumni is a space for us to stay connected by volunteering, supplying resources or giving money year-round. *I just can’t say enough good things about my recovery & experience from Hemet Valley Recovery Center. Just celebrated 6 months. I thank both my Higher Power & HVRC for being clean & sober today. As Nike says: “Just Do It”. You’ll save your life or someone else’s. Hugs & blessings from a proud recovering client, Teresa

I can’t tell you how wonderful HVRC is. The nursing staff, counselors and recovering addicts and alcoholics are loving and compassionate. Before I entered ABC Recovery I couldn't even walk on my own. I had to use a walker and was on 3 liters of oxygen 24/7. I could only go 20 yards before having to stop and catch my breath. I started to have seizures and felt like I was on the cusp of death. After one month there I could walk without the walker and was down to only being on oxygen 6 hours a day. They accommodated me by giving me a downstairs room in the courage house because I have congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Every meal was good if not great, there was never any meal put in front of me that was not edible. The nursing staff never had anything more than a smile when dealing with me and I was a high maintenance client. They made many appointments for me and got me there on time and back with minimum waiting. I had the best counselor Sarah , who played a huge part in saving my life by teaching me coping skills needed to live clean and sober. My county worker was excellent and found me the best sober living that I could ever be placed at. My case manager and family counselor were both extremely helpful. Everyone that works there including the techs really seem like they care. I felt very safe and secure there and was taught a lot and felt a lot of love and care from everyone . Thanks Tim and ABC Recovery for saving my life, literally. Addiction Being Conquered.

I just wanted to come on here and tell my story. In 1991 I turned 21 years old and was completely strung out on meth. My boss referred me to this same center and they were able to put me with a counselor who told me I wouldn't survive at the rate I was going. I would be dead in a couple of years at most. His candor and compassion led me to seek treatment and get clean. Now 30+ years later, I'm still clean. Thank you for being there for me when I really needed someone. I am truly grateful.

I have been a loyal patient of Dr. Stephen Krupey at Pain Relief and Wellness Center in Cathedral City for over ten years, and I cannot praise him and his team enough. Dr. Krupey is an exceptional chiropractor who is deeply committed to providing personalized chiropractic solutions that address a wide range of needs, from back pain and neck pain to headaches and muscular tightness. His expertise extends beyond treating injuries and chronic conditions; he also focuses on improving overall health and wellness. One of the standout aspects of Dr. Krupey's practice is his holistic approach. At my first visit, he thoroughly explained how chiropractic care works and conducted a comprehensive evaluation to ensure the treatment plan would be tailored to my specific needs and health goals. This personalized care has been instrumental in managing my chronic back pain and maintaining my overall well-being. Recently, I entrusted Dr. Krupey with the care of my 12-year-old daughter, who is a hobby gymnast. She was initially apprehensive, but Dr. Krupey's patient and humorous explanation of the procedures quickly put her at ease. His ability to connect with patients of all ages is truly remarkable. The Pain Relief and Wellness Center offers a variety of services beyond chiropractic care, including pain relief, orthotics, and massage therapy. The staff is welcoming and professional, always ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment. They also accept insurance, making the process seamless and stress-free. Dr. Krupey's dedication to his patients extends to his unique sense of humor—he even gladly accepts tips, but only in the form of stock tips! This light-hearted approach adds a personal touch that sets his practice apart. If you are seeking a chiropractor who genuinely cares about your health and well-being, I highly recommend Dr. Stephen Krupey and his team at Pain Relief and Wellness Center. You won't be disappointed!

The Kiloby Center for Recovery is now closed. While in operation, it was located in Rancho Mirage, California. I went to Kiloby for 6 months. the work they do at the center is very rewarding and changed my life. With that being said, it is a smaller treatment center with a small number of staff which results in a disorganized feeling to the program and a LOT of repeat groups which got very boring. Plus a lot of time is spent sitting around doing 'self support' because they don't have enough staff to run groups and do one on one sessions at the same time. And don't be fooled when you hear them say this is not a 12 step program; 12 step meetings are MANDATORY. and one last thing: I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEIR SOBER LIVING... unless you like sleeping in very cheap bunk beds and tight quarters with upwards of 8-9 people at a time. I am not saying I don't think this is a good program, because it is and I got a lot out of it but I think there is a lot of room for improvement from Kiloby. Give it a try if you want to try something different that really gets to the core of your issues. Update, 5 years later: After re-reading my review, and the reviews of others who have left a rating, I truly think The Kiloby Center deserves at least a 4-4.5 Star rating. On reflection, the work I did here changed my life more than any of the other programs I've been to. The comments I made about the sober living seem so trivial now.. I can honestly say, for a smaller treatment center, Kiloby did their best and still managed to make a bigger impact on my life than any other 'rehab'/program. I can't say thank you enough. this place gave me an entirely new point of view.

I'm unable to fully share in words the profound impact my experience at the Kiloby Center has had in my life. I'm so very grateful to have had the privilege of experiencing the "magic" that happens on a daily basis at Kiloby. This is truly a place of unconditional love. The tools that they offer are priceless.

The Kiloby Center was my first experience of mindfulness, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It changed my life and I practice the living inquiries and listen to the guided meditations daily. They have caused me to realize the personality and the self is a construct and I am not stuck in my stories
