Told to bring my own pillow & blanket & scheduled for a driver pick-up. Drive to facility & intake: Donnie answered all of my general questions w/ a calm drive. I walked through the intake forms, insurance paperwork, general overview of detox & expectations of the program. Detox: Supportive Dr. Raja, skilled nursing staff, hospital meals tailored to my nutritional needs & wants, a room to sleep, heal & detoxify my body, I felt confident on my recovery journey. Proximity to the ER is a plus if I needed a higher level of care due to complex medical issues. Counselors: All patients are assigned a counselor. Check-ins on individual situations & progress of your rehabilitation process. They are kind, compassionate & loving humans. Classes: Daily schedules have a variety of holistic rehabilitation classes. Lectures, experiential groups, healthy lifestyles, meditations, yoga, Native American circles, NA/AA meetings, recovery planning, Men & Women’s groups, Just for Today talks, arts & crafts, HVRC has it. Hands down the best learning experience I have ever done (& continue in my personal recovery plan) was “Pain Group” w/ Sherry Burditt, RN, HN-BC (AHNA Board Certified Holistic Nurse) for 5 weeks. A progressive learning experience allowed me to use self-discovery, emotional healing & spiritual growth to face past demons, learn about my own energy (Chakras) & love myself again. HVRC Community: For nearly 90 days, I was immersed in the HVRC family. People you share your days & nights with, along with your thoughts, feelings, assignments & food, to the nursing staff, counselors, administrative staff, drivers, the house senior residents/house managers to daily HVRC volunteers, people are supportive, kind & are there to do what is best for mankind: sustain an environment of caring, client-first vibes. PHP (partial-hospital patients): Having lived in both female houses, they both provide a calm & healing environment. I have fond memories of rides full of people to & from the center, trips to the ATM or appointments, NA & AA meetings & Soboba’s talking circle. Outings: Nails/pedicures/haircuts, AA meetings, doctor appointments/imaging, ATM, Soboba talking circle. Family Weekend: AMAZING experience. Run by Lisa, it is a weekend of family & loved ones learning about addiction. Not just the disease itself, but how to support their loved one in & out of treatment, expectations of their loved one coming home, & a session for me & my family to start the healing process. Continuing care & Alumni meetings: Thursday nights: an in-person continuing care program that supports HVRC alumni. Counselors offer support in multiple ways. Next is the Alumni in-person/Zoom AA/NA meeting. A great night for a meeting & connecting with so many others who are going through the same thing that I am: staying clean & sober. HVRC Alumni events: President Jeff does a GREAT job sharing where the donated money goes. Helping clients with prescriptions, housing & other necessities, to fun things for clients & staff with auction baskets, sit-down dinners, arts & crafts, hiding Easter eggs & Sam the Leprechaun, supplying treats to buy at the Alumni store, cookouts, individual gifts, Veteran recognitions, & more!! I knew I wasn't going to talk to him again really if you're going to be a therapist you can't tell someone that what there saying isn't true. I didn't respect that about that man because I been through a lot I wonder why he is a therapist there. He doesn't even know me but he made it seem like I was lying about what happened to me in my pass.And it seemed like he had selective hearing like I was talking to myself. I think they need to replace that man and I pray that financially that cedar House stays open for many more years to come. I'm 35 years old I can't program with other man that are focused on the same things of the passed it's more reasons why I left and the programing we were talking about sex I think we should be programing talking recovery and making right decisions and staying away from people of our pass.they could had programs about that when I left I only went to one program that was talking about sex I'm just talking about what I seen on the first program. but to each its on they have to make some things up to make sure everyone is busy if you stay busy in there is no idol time so I understand.im focused on spirituality and .starting this automotive course at chaffey in the summer I'm already signed up and getting in Na Aa meetings I want this better sober life with or without a program God bless you all. Their team and staff members are always very helpful, kind, caring, understanding, respectful and their teams are plentiful so there is always someone who can help when in need. This center is beautiful within itself being at the top in the mountains with nature and wildlife surrounding. I’ve read a few negative reviews here and from my experience, these are petty complains due to certain persons just not getting their overly unrealistic expectations met but for the average respectable person who knows when in rehab and during detox, there are always times where one feels badly, however this is not the recovery centers fault, it’s just the nature of detoxing and learning coping skills and dealing with personal addictive habits, codependencies, and traumas. The staff here are all amazing and willing to help whenever you ask for help. The chefs: Tiffany and Mike really get down and make some really delicious meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. The nurses Michelle and Amy make sure you take your meds whenever needed and also make check in with you every morning to see if your having withdrawal symptoms such as night terrors, using dreams, tremors, anxiety, depression, all that stuff that you don’t want to feel when you’re withdrawing and they make sure you are prescribed the right meds to prevent all those things. The case workers Alejandra and Angela work above and beyond to make sure everything you need is taken care of. Angela is also the educator and teaches some really informative group classes that help you understand your disease. And the rest of the staff are all amazing and I’m really going to miss all of you! Claudia and Valerie are really sweet and kind and funny. I always looked forward to seeing them at the facility. Dan and RayRay and Joe are all very personable and will give you some of the best advice and it’s only up to you to decide if you wanna take it and run with it. There was always something positive and productive to do. The food deserves special recognition as well. I have been a patient here for more years than I care to admit. With that ive seen alot. Is this a perfect solution to opiate addiction? That depends on you and the program you want to work. The staff that are there for you are really good people and they will treat you how you treat them. The front desk ladies, Melissa and Alexis are Angels, they work soo hard to make sure your patient experience is as comfortable as possible,both of them go above and beyond to help us patients. The counseling staff i only really know my counselor, and thats because this place does have a "revolving" door of counselors. I won't go into the company politics but the case load, the work and the overall stuff they have to do in the time they have is just impossible and they just get burned out really fast and split. My counselor im blessed to have. My counselor has been at this clinic for way more years than I have and she is amazing. I have seen her console the most desperate person in they're most time of desperation, ive also seen her stop a 6 foot 4, 300lbs man from completely busting the place up and bringing him to tears. My counselor has helped me more times than I can count, she is my second counselor, but she had helped me with my Son and his learning difficulties. Unfortunately my son grew up at the clinic, he used to come with me to my counseling sessions with my first counselor and watch movies on his portable DVD player while I had my sessions. While I feel regret with my Son growing up in a place like this, but my son is now an amazing hard working adult, who has never done any kind of drugs and dosen't even drink alcohol. I've been honest with my Son about my addiction issues and he grew up seeing addicts on the street, at the clinic and 1 even being his Dad, he has seen what addiction does. He has also seen that recovery is definitely possible. Overall is Riverside Treatment Center a perfect place? Nope. People have bad days, addicts want instant gratification either with drugs or service, are there some individuals who will provide you a fix? Sure there is, but thats up to you. Do you want to get clean off of Street drugs? Then go and work an honest program at the clinic, but if your not ready then those people will be there waiting for you whether at the clinic or your neighborhood corner. I will say that being i have take home meds, I dont hang around this place much anymore. And from what I have seen alot of the street activity has cleared up a bit. The location plays a huge roll in the negative people that can be around the clinic. This area is a breeding ground for drug activity and with a methadone clinic smack dab in the middle of this area, your going to have this kind of activity. The clinic can only keep its area clear of that stuff, they can't control the bus stops and fast food areas of activity, thats up to us as patients working a program. This place was my saving grace, and gave me a second chance in life. I lost my kids due to drugs, and because of GHW, I was able to get on the right track back to having them home with me again. Gibson House for Women gave me my life back! My counselor, Danielle, was and will always be my angel. She had my back from day 1, and was always on top of things. All of the counselors are amazing - they all really do care and most have been down the same roads so they know what you're going through. I was housed with 30 other woman here, and every single one of them became my sober sisters - the most incredible group of women I've ever met iny life. We all had each other to lean on during those times of hardship, and comfort was always there. This place truly is magical, and I can't thank GHW, and the women I went through treatment with enough for everything they've done for me. It was a miracle I ended up here, and the program wasn't exactly easy, but I needed their strict structure at the time, and am so grateful for it. My advice to anyone reading this is STICK WITH IT! IT'S SO WORTH THE REWARDS IN THE END. Don't let anyone take you out of character and destroy the peace you so much deserve. They offer multiple groups and tomorrow even though having pizza you know but I've also found in order to make any type of recovery or progress you have to find someone to hold you accountable you have to actually be accountable to yourself if you hold yourself accountable you can always see improvement but you won't actually make improvement and tell you have someone hold you accountable. Often times I've blamed others for not seeing the perception of things are potential in them and also once happiness can only be determined by one's self if you respond to another's actions with happiness or sadness they are in control of your emotions that would be insane so that's one good thing I've learned and also if you put in the time and the work and hold yourself accountable you always make improvements hope it's the first time also you should check out the groups and I don't know if I can actually mention any of the therapist my hand but they're all awesome everyone knows that thank you Blaine clinic and I'm sorry that I've always been in pain Curtis Swafford 1 year ago I have had a lot of successful interaction with the staff; all it takes is cooperation with the process. They truly cared about my progress and went above and beyond to ensure I had the tools and resources I needed to succeed. What I loved most was the sense of community. The other residents became like family to me, and we supported each other through every step of our journeys.
