We had a family member stay there and The Lakes changed her life and our lives for the better. They treated her like family and from the time she arrived to the time she was ready to come home... it was immediately apparent she was in much better health mentally, emotionally and physically. Not only did they provide her with help she sorely needed but they provide the tools needed to ensure success after as well with a more 'dual diagnostics' approach which I found VERY effective. Now with life after The Lakes, she made friends with other guests there and has established a great support group. The Lakes approach encourages guests to develop friendships that people can carry after they leave. I've seen other treatment centers and this is not your 'typical' treatment center. This one has a much more 'family' oriented approach that will help you on multiple levels. So THANK YOU to all the staff there... I feel like we got a new lease on life and we are super grateful for all your help. (Also... the food was excellent so kudos to the kitchen staff too) You just don't get that 'family vibe' anywhere else for a place like this and that's a key component to The Lakes success. UPDATE: our family member is still doing great over 1/2 year later... In addition she made 2 friends there who have also continued staying sober after leaving. The Lakes established not just a commitment to sobriety for her own sake but inspired her little community after leaving to stay sober together. The resident pshychatist has changed four times since then. Dr. Barnes first, then Dr. Seghal, then Dr. Manuel, and now Dr. Carillo. (If history is any guide, Dr. Carillo will eventually be succeeded by another doctor at some point.) All of the doctors were good in their own ways. Never had the slightest problem with any of them. I bonded most with Dr. Seghal because he was an intellectual, and I learn best when speaking to intellectuals. Dr. Carillo, for her part, is the most efficient and reliable of all her predecessors not to mention the most empathetic. She is second to none. You couldn't ask for a better doctor. Well, I suppose you could, but you wouldn't get one. Despite the many changeovers with the psychiatrists, the services have never changed: they are fantastic, and I highly recommend this clinic. Ridino 1 year ago This review is a little late I haven't been there in a few years So the psychiatrist I saw was good but I wasn't a huge fan of the therapist I saw but maybe she just wasn't the best therapist for me personally.idk also they were kinda hard to get a hold of for a while and the phone would just ring and ring for what felt like forever so I just kinda gave up trying so that was kinda on me too .this was back in like 2018 or 2019 for context so the people who worked there then might not even work there anymore. Whenever I was younger my mom would 5150 me on just about every birthday. When I was hospitalized here Dr. Fox would let me play my guitar and when I was given the privilege to play guitar I would divide my 15-30min sessions with my guitar and let others play guitar. What was really good was the food and dinning area. My electric guitar and line6 podgo was the first time staff had seen any like that to come into the hospital and I was asking for music theory material to be printed out and the nurses were always printed out material for me. I started Stemvasmah therapy which was science, technology, engineering mathematical, visual arts sound-music arts, and humanities, I would be asking all patients on my unit for 3 different topics and the nurses were always printing out the paperwork for my lessons I have taught the patients. I remember going to rec therapy all the patients requested songs all the songs that I like. Overall this is heaven for those who are broken All OF THE FORMER PATIENTS THAT ARE GOING TO GIVE BAD REVIEWS,..... I GOT NEWS THE LIES YOU HAVE BEEN TELLING WILL BE REPORTED PRIVATELY AND RESPECTFULLY. I HAVE LOVE FOR MHTS, I NURSES, first responders, doctor's psychiatrist. AND lawn enforcement and paramedics and fire Crew. I have no bad memories of being hospitalized. Andrew 1 year ago I’ve been here twice. It’s been 4 months and I still reminisce on my time spent here. I’ve been to a psych ward in Sacramento and it is nothing compared to this one.
