There are not words to describe the care and compassion I have experienced.. I recently called to discuss treatment for a dear friend of mine who is struggling with alcohol use. Haley is the outreach coordinator I spoke with and she was so caring and kind. She talked with me about all the options and listened to everything I said. We then worked with heather who was also amazing and not pushy in any way. We ended up going another direction with his care but know in our hearts that they will be our GO TO if or when he is ready for this journey. As someone who works in the field I know this can be such a difficult time for people and now having watched my absolute best friend struggle I can honestly say they handled everything with such grace. Thank you for your care and compassion New Dawn. I truly appreciate it.

Amazing facility. The therapists and counselors were very attentive and caring. Going to treatment is one of the hardest things a person will have to do in their life and they made my stat much easier than they had to. The variety of classes they expose you to makes it a lot easier to understand that there is no one right way to get better, and that you have to find what works for you. Thank you to staff for everything. Big big 5 stars

New Dawn and Kyle were a Godsend! Most of the staff during my stay in Orangevale residential was extremely caring and could relate to where I was coming from. I especially looked forward to Kyle’s weekly groups where he often took us out into nature and provided the opportunity to connect with myself and my environment on a deeper level. After completing treatment I look forward to Kyle’s weekly alumni groups where he continues to support and encourage me like no other!

I absolutely loved this program. I graduated from here in 2014. The women that work here are great. I am still clean to this day, and it's because of this wonderful program! Thank you Cornerstone.

When Cornerstone was first built I was one of the first females there. We were all so helpful to one another. The place was beautiful and we kept it that way. We prepared or own healthy meals from recipes. They treated us with respect and kindness. Had all the assistance we needed to get better and to take care of any legal and health issues we had as well. Best Place Ever to go if you need help. Don't mess this one place up. Do what they ask of you (within reason of course), because......"IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT, SO WORK IT TIL IT WORKS"!!!!! Sending much love and positive vibes your way ladies!!

I was at CFD twice; first in 2019 and again in 2020 during Covid. Treatment isn’t fun. It’s hard. You’re forced to step outside of your comfort zone. My first time at cfd I didn’t want to be there at all (honestly was just there to get medically cleared so I could go back to school) but it took going back a year later and spending 7 weeks there for me to realize and appreciate how much I needed treatment at the time. I would just say to anyone planning on coming here: have an open mind. Every person stepping through the doors of residential is suffering. And I understand you if you’re afraid of letting go of your ED. It’s valid. It is scary. But it’s also incredibly fulfilling to be freed from disordered eating. It is a beautiful process: learning to love yourself. It’s not easy. There was a lot of tears. But you’re surrounded by peers who understand exactly what you’re going through and the group therapy sessions help a lot. If your family cares enough to support you in your recovery please show gratitude because not everyone has a family there to cheer them on or come visit them while they’re struggling. Cherish your loved ones and be grateful for life everyday. Food isn’t the enemy. Food nourishes the soul and body and you deserve to be happy! Also it’s nice to cheer each other on in treatment. I know EDs can be competitive and even if you don’t mean to you might subconsciously end up comparing yourself to the other patients (idk maybe not but I did) but realize that you are both there for the purpose of healing and recovering and comparing yourself to another sick individual isn’t getting anyone anywhere. Instead focus on yourself and tell ur peers ur proud of them if u notice they struggled but got through a meal. It’s important to be there for each other. I’m reallyyyyy shy but to this day I’m still in touch with some of the other girls I met at cfd. It’s great. Also.. JOURNAL! journal everything. Every emotion. Every outburst. It’s healing. If you’re spiritually inclined, right now is the perfect time to get close to your higher power. You won’t have your phone for the most part so reading the Bible, praying, etc…. Now is the time to do that haha god is great. Especially when you think no one else is there for you. Nobody forces religion or spirituality on you here it’s not like the 12 steps in AA/NA but I’m just saying getting closer to god is such a bonus and will aid you tremendously in your recovery process if you seek him out. Good luck to everyone in their recovery journey!! You got this! Can’t really speak for their current staff but I had great support from the therapists and nurses (especially) at the time when I was there. Hopefully it’s the same or better now!

Croutons aren’t a starch ☝️🤓 Tbh I hated this place with my whole soul when I came there. I’m a peaceful person and I was arguing with staff. But it changed my life. Like hallelujah god sent me there to have the best therapist who was so patient with my argumentative self. Literally if you actually learn and apply it to your life it changes everything. Like I used to dread every meal but now I can enjoy food again and it’s wonderful. (Eating isn’t the problem. It’s all ego. It’s how your brain survives in or after trauma) But omg was it the hardest therapy program in my whole life. 10/10 would do it again

I can not thank Center for discovery enough!! It was tough for my 18yr old daughter especially at first, but it was successful ! The staff has communicated with me through the whole process. They have helped my daughter immensely. She has an excellent therapist who she really connected with. He doctor and psychiatrist both listened and adjusted medications to her needs. Her stay there was life changing and we are both finally filled with hope. Thank you to everyone . You all make a difference ❤️

"Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to give a big shout out to the amazing folks at the county health department. (NANCY) Recently, I had to swing by and have a chat with the lovely Nancy regarding my health insurance situation. Let me tell you, she is an absolute gem! Nancy's kindness and helpfulness truly made my day. Her outstanding customer service skills were a breath of fresh air, especially during this long and stressful ordeal. She was so eager to resolve the issue for me, and I can't express how much I appreciated it. The best part? There was hardly any wait time at all! I was in the rehab back in 2012 and it was a shock at first when I was there because I was being defiant fighting it. But once you realize that they're actually really trying to help you and they care then it starts to work. After 7 months of being there I left and stayed sober for about 22 months. I relapsed because I went back into the same environment I came from I thought I could handle being around certain people in places but I was wrong. I have quit on and off since then sometimes 1 years sometimes 90 days. I am currently on day number 577 and I apply every single thing that I've learned in that rehab on a daily basis now so if I had to say anything about this place I would say that I learned a lot and if you go there pay attention listen to what they're saying it will help you in the long run with your sobriety. Don't be hard-headed and listen is my advice. And yes some of the staff there were not my favorite type of people I would hang out with, but they did the job and it helped me. So for that I'm grateful ☝️

Bayside Marin Treatment Center is an addiction treatment center that offers drug and alcohol misuse recovery services to individuals living in the San Rafael, California, area. They have plenty to offer with a ton of therapy services and multiple levels of care, including detox services, residential treatment, outpatient programs (OP) and aftercare
Bayside Marin is an excellent treatment center. At first, I didn't want to go here, mainly because of negative reviews and hearsay from an acquaintance, and corporate ownership. But I quickly changed my mind. I came here devestated by a very traumatic year of my life, in as much of a mental health crisis as I was in a substance one. Throughout the length of my stay, I was treated with understanding, patience and compassion. The bulk of their program is cookie cutter evidence based, but high quality. The employees at Bayside really care about their work, and their clients, and because of this it didn't have a corporate feel, even though they're owned by Acadia. What made this stay extra special for me was the therapy and one on one conversations I had with staff. I had the honor and privilege of working with the best therapist I've ever seen. When there's a true match with therapy it can be magical, spiritual. I have transformed into a better version of myself because of the one on one work with my therapist, whose intelligence, wit, patience, and compassion helped me to rise above and shine, despite facing some extremely challenging triggers in residential this time. When you can't fully care about yourself, sometimes you can borrow someone else's faith in you until you're able to care about yourself a little more. By the end of my stay, I felt more confident and centered than I had in a long time. I also wanted to say, the tech supervisor helped guide me psychologically and spiritually as I faced various challenges at Bayside, and helped revive my interest in spirituality, meditation and awakening. I had the best spiritual and psychological support I could have asked for, which I thought would be impossible after being at Olympia House in 2022. (Both are good rehabs with their unique strengths and weaknesses. I learned a lot at both, but they're not directly comparable, OH is a little more unique in terms of approach and programming. Bayside was extra meaningful because of the particular therapist I worked with, the behavioral technician supervisor I mentioned and the particular clients I bonded with. They actually listen to client feedback and I watched them make numerous improvements over the three months I was there. With that said, there is room for further improvement. Clients are shuffled over to the main campus from detox with very little explanation of where to go and when, which leaves freshly detoxed clients confused, angry, and feeling disrespected. I've been told they're working on fixing this problem. Scheduling glitches do happen, but that's true of any medium or large rehab. They do their best. And also, sometimes communication can be a little complicated between departments. No place is perfect. Gorgeous campus. Food was great. I was told this was a rehab for rich people who valued aesthetics over content, but that's not what I found here. They have some incredible talent working for them and client socioeconomic backgrounds are mixed. Last. I would encourage people, strongly, to ask to change their therapist if the initial assignment isn't a match. I did, and it made all the difference in my stay.

There are wonderful things about Duffy's- but also things that aren't. Amazing trust between residents and wonderful small groups, beautiful nature, delicious food, and really comfortable rooms. Some staff were like gold and others wronged me to the point that a full investigation was conducted. The results were in my favor, which thankfully led to a change in policy. There is some trauma there and some staff are truly as cold as ice. But I want to emphasize that the ones that shine saved my life. EDIT Interesting that you did not address the negative experience which was major. I’m not griping, just think it’s best practices to give actual feedback and acknowledge that each of us is human with individual experiences.

I am mostly pleased with my time at Duffys. The staff was excellent and the food was delicious. I have been sober for two years. My concerns are the following. The staff as good as they were definitely had favorites. From reading the nightly N/a /a/a meetings to other stuff. Also there is an administrative leak when it comes to housing. I stayed in the villa which is a somewhat private area. Somehow the ladies in adjoining Villa knew ahead of time who my roommate was going to be and the were right I thought this was strange that they knew before me who was living in the Villa. Most importantly in the bigger picture of my journey in Sobriety they were good. My counselor Mary was the best. (, Ive been sober for over two years and the friends I met there are still my friends to this day. Thank you Duffys for 2.5 years of Sobriety

I was a breast cancer survivor until 2023 when I was diagnosed cancer-free & in Feb of that year I was housed in a transitional room through St Mary's. They gave me a safe community where I was able to restart my life, take care of my mental & physical health issues, & in Jan 2024 they helped me get permanent stable housing at Depot Community Apts in Hayward. This is actually the best Clinic I've ever been to Thomas has been the best counselor I've had I was at ages before as well but due to getting ran over by a car I was put back on opiate medications and well any addict knows what happens after that when I returned to ages I went through a plethora of counselors but Thomas was solid and stuck around when I came to him I had 14 take homes and lost them because I fell off. Thank God I had Thomas as a counselor he held me accountable for my actions was patient and gentle and see me through my relapse now I have six take homes and I'm doing way better I really believe that if Thomas wasn't my counselor during my relapse I wouldn't be clean right now because of the way he handled the situation allow me to trust him take his advice and now I've been clean for almost 4 months now thank you Thomas and thank you Aegis for employing Thomas.

I have been in and out of recovery pretty much my whole life since I was a teenager. I had heard repeatedly that there's no "magic pill" to help with your addiction problems. Well, I must say that methadone sure worked "magic" for me. It brought my cravings down to nothing, might I add, I was always on the lookout for something. Methadone gave me the feeling of what I would best describe as "content." Aegis gave me the added help I needed to then focus on myself and my well-being. I have since been able to find and maintain staple employment and let me focus on what my family and I needed instead of just what my brain wanted. So thank you to Aegis of Chico, I hate to even imagine what my life would look like had I never found them.

Tranquility Rehab is a residential rehab for men with drug and alcohol addiction in Castro Valley, California. The gender specific model is actually an important part of their approach. This rehab is specifically designed around the ways that men experience addiction and succeed in recovery. But that’s not the only way your treatment is special
Empathetic and caring. The staff is amazing. Jeremy Kelsay has been amazing and a huge motivator for me in my recovery. Absolutely would recommend this place to anyone struggling. 10 out of 10.

After years working in behavioral health, you develop a keen sense for when a treatment center operates from a place of real care—and that’s exactly what you’ll find here. If someone I loved needed a place to heal—whether dealing with addiction, mental health challenges, or co-occurring disorders—Tranquility Rehab would be my first choice. Their team goes above and beyond to nurture recovery and build lasting resilience. For anyone in Northern California ready to transform their life, this is the place to begin (and rebuild) that journey.

I just discharged from the Atherton house. It was a lovely place. As a woman who has experienced so much trauma in my life (of all kinds) I have a hard time feeling safe especially around strangers and in a new place. I have to admit that I felt very safe just like I was at home. I was at home; Avery Lane Atherton facility was my home. Temporarily. I made friends with all of the other women (clients). The other women were all friendly and welcoming to me. It's never easy going to rehab but if it was; this place is a good way for it to feel that way. The therapists are highly educated and skilled. My therapist (Summer LanFranco) helped rewire my brain in literally 60 days. She has to be God sent because she works miracles. I'm a walking miracle in the sense that I am actually living on my own and I am not completely depressed or in a crisis. I never thought I could do it. I didn't know how. And that is okay because I don't have to have all the answers or any answers for the matter just the want to and today I do want to because I now know it's possible. I used to want to die I mean I really didn't want to live. I was so scared and stressed out about being alone and scared. I'm not scared anymore either. I mean there were times when I looked at her sideways and even talked some shit with the other women (nothing horrible just the usual bitching lol) but I always had to take it back because she was so good at what she does she was helping me when I didn't even expect or know what was happening. She is so talented I have to give her credit simply because I pay my debts now lol and she has earned it. I used to think that I was going to die by suicide or a fentanyl overdose but I don't think like that anymore. I have to of course give all the Glory to the Good Lord for if it was not supposed to be it would not so thank you heavenly Father for always keeping me in your favor. Thank you Avery Lane. Ps You can't watch any television except for Saturday night movie night where you are alotted 1 movie that the ENTIRE HOUSE MUST AGREE ON And it can't be anything entertaining (sex drugs vulgar language drinking gang activity or anything that is too sad depressing reminds you of something bad or triggers you THERES ALWAYS THAT ONE WHO MANIPULATES THE STAFF TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS but you might get to go to Peet's coffee on Saturday not guaranteed though also no candy or junk food or soda WHATSOEVER They have chefs Mary was my absolute favorite She would bake us cakes cookies and goodies Thank you Mary She made it easy for me to be there The most inspiring and uplifting woman to have small chat with Chef Mary really deserves recognition for accommodating the women and what we wanted Anne Well I am so sick of tuna, mushroom soup and curry or artichokes I'm never eating them again I don't understand why we had a chef there who made food that I could have made just as crappy as I could(tuna sandwiches so basic no pickles no nothing). Not to mention the same bagels and salmon every week. We ALL DREADED ANNE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE DIDN'T LEAVE ANY DISHES FROM COOKING BUT WE WOULD HAVE RATHER DISHES THAN BLAND BASIC FOOD. Not to mention that I don't eat shell fish or fish and those things were prepared at least 4 or 5 times a week so that's how many meals I would go without because accomodations were just too much to ask for of the chef who has 3 hours to make a bunch of tuna sandwiches for 5 women who secretly despise it. Thank you Chef Derek for the most delicious. WHOOPY!!!! Pies I've ever eaten in my life. Other than that..... Oh yes the Two Recovery counselors both named Lizzie. Those are the two names that you need to know. Natalie Judit and of course SUMMER are going to teach you how to grow mentally emotionally spiritually and physically. By the time you leave you will be a whole new woman. So pay attention in their groups.

I recently completed a 30 day program at Avery Lane, and I can t express enough gratitude for the support and care I received from the Recovery Counselors and Nicole, my therapist. From day one, the Recovery Counselors created a safe and compassionate environment, offering encouragement and guidance that truly helped me stay focused on my sobriety journey. They were always there to listen, answer questions, and provide the tools I needed to navigate my personal challenges.Nicole, my therapist, was instrumental in my recovery. Her expertise, empathy, and tailored approach made a huge difference in my healing process. She helped me work through difficult emotions, recognize underlying issues, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I felt truly seen and understood, which was incredibly empowering during my 30 days there. Thanks to the team at Avery Lane, I now have a solid foundation to continue building on my sobriety journey. I highly recommend this center to anyone seeking a supportive and dedicated team to guide them toward recovery.

I entered the doors of MedMark on a Monday morning @ 5:00 am with the expectation of walking out feeling a whole lot better than when I walked in. As told by the young lady on the phone the day before, I needed to come in sick, which of course I did, to a degree. I was interviewed, had a physical and sat. At about 10:30am, I was given my first dose of 20mgs. After about 20 mins, I began feeling a bit better. Then, I was given another 10mgs and went home. For the first time in months, I actually slept. It has been near 6 years since that first day and I can honestly say that I have not used, gone through withdrawals and been able to put and keep my life on a straight and forward path thanks to the counselors, the nurses and the newer management team consisting of Kim and Linda. Not to speak ill of the previous management, so I'll simply say that the change has been a Godsend. Kim, Director of MedMark Fairfield is a very sweet, compassionate and open-minded leader who has opened herself up to speaking to the clients with a bright smile and a big heart. These qualities make her approachable but don't let that fool you, she is as tough as she is welcoming. Sadly, Linda the Lead Manager at MedMark Fairfield is not one that I have spent much time with, however she did see me at a time when my councilor was out sick. The hour we spent together was made very comfortable by her, and I had actually entertained the idea of asking her to be my councilor. We talked as though we had known one another for a lifetime. Those that have her as a councilor are very blessed. I can truly say that I hit the lottery when I was given Sara as my councilor. Early on, I found that she and I share quite a bit in our stories, which right away put me at ease. Sara is bright, knowledgeable and compassionate and right away put me at ease. Given that I have earned my way to monthly meetings, I really look forward to seeing her each time. I have had a few different councilors over time, but Sara has really given me the reasons to trust her. So important as that is, I am lucky to have that with her. One of the huge benefits I found at MedMark was that the councilors I had seen had all gone through very similar situations as I had. It truly makes for a foundation to build on when there is that common denominator. It is easy to sit with your client and simply listen to them for an hour, but to really connect with them, making them feel as though they really matter and to build that trust and rapport. Now, I have heard people complain about this or that at MedMark, unfortunately, in an environment such as this it is to be expected. My response, typically sharp tongued is this; Hmmm, I don't recall getting an invitation to come join them so frankly we really can't complain. Speaking from experience, MedMark is #1 on my top 5 Methadone Clinics. lol

I’ve been going to MedMark for a while now and I’m incredibly grateful for the support they’ve provided. The staff is friendly, caring, and knowledgeable, always offering personalized treatment and guidance. The clinic is clean and well-organized, making the experience as stress-free as possible. They offer a range of services that go beyond just methadone maintenance as well. I highly recommend MedMark for anyone seeking help with opioid addiction - it’s the only thing that actually stuck for me. Ps it’s pretty easy to succeed here. Be respectful, give clean UA’s and attend your sessions - then you get take homes. Any complaints probably stem from one of those not being followed… :)
