I highly recommend for anyone who is serious about getting into treatment to consider this program. The Director Mellisa is fabulous and truly does do everything within her ability to help patients on every level, Margo is the angel that works at the reception window she is knowledgeable kind and respectful Always to all the patients that come in. But my absolute favorite is my counselor Shay she is fabulous, she is always open to listening and guiding and helping as much as she can, and I truly feel she has my best interest and recovery at the forefront I never feel rushed or like I’m a burden and she is incredibly relatable and nonjudgmental which is huge when your trying to be honest with yourself and them about your recovery, your everyday life struggles and everything else that contributes to success when in recovery! But a big shout out to all the dispensing nurses also they have to put up with a lot sometimes and they stay focused and determined to get everyone dosed in a timely manner! My first call to FORC was answered by Shayne and she took all the time I needed to ask questions, share my struggle, and really validate that I needed this help. She helped set my mind at ease that this was the right decision for me and my family. My first few days were emotional and a whirwind, but what an amazing staff (too many to name them all, they truly care for the clients) that helped me adjust and thrive. The other clients were also incredible and it really felt like family recovery. I'm so thankful for my time and experience at both FORC residential and IOP, it has given me tools I've never had before and a way to stay sober that I have not been able to achieve on my own. They are also a AA program that preaches spirituality. Spirituality can be a scary word/concept but take it from me a non religious person I live by my spirituality every day. It’s about a higher power not who or what the higher powers name is. If you want to be free from the demon and alcohol and know you will be supported you must attend FORC!! The counselors genuinely care about their clients and consistently go above and beyond to give you the support, guidance, tools, and encouragement you need to succeed. At the same time, they understand that they cannot do the work for you. They will meet you where you are, challenge you when you need it, and support you through difficult moments, but ultimately they teach you how to take accountability for your own recovery and your own life. The groups are thoughtful and well put together, and the structure of the program encourages you to really start looking inward. Like any program, there are rules and expectations (for good reason), but if you can follow them, stay focused on yourself instead of what other people are doing, and remain open to the process, there is so much to gain here. The staff will give you every opportunity and resource they can, but you have to be willing to meet them halfway. If you are serious about your recovery, willing to be honest with yourself, and are truly ready to put in the work, this program can truly help you change your life. The counselors will walk beside you every step of the way—but they can’t and won’t walk the steps for you. The staff are kind, nice, and each has undoubtedly endured more years of opiod dependency than you. I am guessing of course, but they are pros. Enrollment couldn't be easier and dosing happens the same day. Within a month, take-homes are a reality and you can taper if and when you wish. I wish I had known of this place sooner. The people and staff are loving ❤️ and caring and understanding. The waiting room was clean and .... empty. I had the place to myself and I was seen by a nurse within 15 minutes of arrival. Doctor Wilkes came in soon after, and was absolutely invested in finding solutions for my concerns. What a contrast to how I thought ny experience would be, based on some of these reviews. In any case, I hope people give this place a fair shot. They were the only clinic who would book an in- person appointment for me within days rather than months! For those navigating infectious disease for the first time or tracking known disease, J Street clinic is a fine place to do so. They were some of the sweetest, kindest, most compassionate and genuinely helpful people I have ever encountered anywhere. Detox is obviously not an easy experience, but the way I was treated made such a huge difference. I never felt judged or like I was just another patient. I felt cared about as a person. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, supported and safe, and their kindness felt completely genuine. What stood out to me most was how consistently caring everyone was. I felt genuinely cared for by every single staff member and they spent time with me helping me make phone calls and appointments that I needed to make in order to be sucessful at home. I am incredibly grateful for my 10 days at Gateway and especially for the people who work there. Thank you for making a difficult experience so much easier and for treating me with so much kindness.
