Look no further for outstanding PT sessions from skilled, professional, caring staff. Nice campus setting, good parking, spotless clean facility. Easy to reach, just a few minutes from 17. Very disappointed with two other facilities I was referred to during earlier years. Almost gave up on medical care. The GS Hospital is an eye opener and gave me new hope. Perfect preparation for a major surgery (chronic disease) and recovery afterwards to get back in shape. Wonderful!

After explaining my abusive and neglectful past my psychiatrist (I believe it was dr pie) straight up told me im lucky because I have food and a roof over my head where other people in other countries dont. I literally didnt have a bed to sleep in or food to eat as a kid. This is so rude and invalidating and inconsiderate to say to someone. This doesnt help anyone but make them not want to talk about their trauma or ask for help. I will not be coming back thanks a lot.

I was a patient 4x at this hospital due to instability with medicine, homelessness and illness. It was very rough for me to get adjusted due to my inability to smoke for 4-6 months. However when I did I was pleased. I was taught what close care of hygiene looks like, structured days and balanced meals, and learned what better relationships look like can be formed through advocating, asserting, and assimilating.
I needed this time to remain healthy, it could have easily been the reason I am still here. From this hospital I was granted to go to independent living, and with the skills I learned and the reasonable rent, I am a more reliable person for my family.
The staff was very sensitive to my insecurities and they sincerely invested whatever time they could to be available to speak with them. I would like to be staff as well, helping people build confidence and approach. I want to work in the mental health profession at crestwood now because after meeting many cordial guides like Tom from (phf) and fay (mhrc) both paved the way for my good faith and understanding in a more worldly way. It's been over 20ys since I participated in this program through the nudge of a judge. My last name was different. My life had spiraled into turmoil and utter caios. I hit rock bottom so hard I was spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically broken. Honestly I wished I would die than live another day. At first I didn't want to be there. I did participate in the program several times. I still remember my house managers name, Sharron. I definitely didn't leave as a night in shinning armor. The reality is I dabbled once or twice a yr. More importantly whenever I did I felt guilty, dirty, remorseful, and imberrased. Life hasn't been a beautiful boutique of roses but I am definitely proud of who I am, the challenges I've over come, and the abilities that were given to me through Support Systems Homes. Thank you for caring. Thank you for not judging. Thank you for teaching me structure in such a subtle way. I am alive, happy, and a functional part of society because of this program.

Support Systems Homes was a wonderful experience. The staff is amazing and made me feel so comfortable and loved and supported! The clients were very diverse, all had different stories and background, but filled with so much love and gratitude to be there. Support systems homes will know me by my maiden name, but i was there a couple times years back. It took more than one go for me to “get it”, but here’s the good news: when i left, and relapsed, it only took me one month to be begging to go back to support systems. And they welcomed me with love. The second time, i knew I needed additional support, and i lived at their SLE. My mom got a ton of education and support from the family program and got linked in to al-anon, which we now attend together. Addiction is truly a family disease, and we both had a lot to learn. Today, i have ten years sober, i am married to someone who treats me the way I deserve, and we have two beautiful children, who i am 100% present for. I am also a registered nurse and i work in psychiatry, where i meet and try to help addicts like me every day. Support systems nourished me- literally, with incredible food, and spiritually, with unconditional understanding, patience, and support. Ten years later, i look at pictures of the facility and truly miss it! I still consider it my home away from home, the safest place I’ve ever known, and the safest i have ever felt. I came in completely destroyed and beaten, and i got to be completely safe and somewhere that would protect and help me.

My friend has lived there for 7 yrs...I visited her & she is very happy ...there are secure locked doors (she lives on first floor) public can't just walk in....nice patios & balconies, parking stalls are enclosed & locked (careless neighbor caused my friend to get catalytic converter stolen)...so, you do have to hope neighbors aren't careless & giving access to thieving friends/family.

Since day one, new to the experience of outpatient care....I felt safe, heard and understood. All the staff is respectful, professional & friendly. They provide pick up and drop off services which was extremely helpful when my car was still in another state. Daycare is also provided, another blessing. I appreciate the time they take to understand my trauma responses and provide many ways of understanding them myself and healthy ways of coping with them. I have been attending PSAP for almost one year now and I could not have navigated through all of my trauma and healing without them.

I came to Alta Mira for dual diagnosis treatment, including my eating disorder, and it helped me more than I can possibly express. The therapy here is incredible - multiple sessions a week plus so much additional support because the staff is so in tune and genuinely caring. They also have weekly massages included in your stay! I worked with Kellie as my therapist, and she completely changed my life. Jeff runs the best DBT groups ever, and Karen and Drea are phenomenal too. The entire therapist team is amazing.
Management is wonderful - friendly, involved, and truly dedicated to every client. The RAs are absolute rockstars: Zach, Ben, Tristan, Sam, Adam, Trace, and David. They are all so kind, supportive, and professional. Ben and Tristan are amazing leads, and honestly, Zach and Adam should be too!
The food deserves its own review - the chef is incredible and the meals alone helped me overcome under eating. There’s a salad bar, an amazing breakfast buffet, and everything is fresh and delicious. I tried another facility that served Costco ready meals and I was starving - but at Alta Mira, every meal felt nourishing and made with care. I loved that they have lots of healthy snacks offered throughout the day at there is amazing coffee offered too. They even have lots of teas and matcha! On Fridays we get the best cookies ever and each client gets a going away dessert for their last night. Mine was the chocolate strawberries and cookies pictured below.
The personal trainer, Tanya, and the yoga teacher are both fabulous. The workshops are genuinely life changing. Housekeeping is amazing too - every part of this place runs with care and respect.
The rooms are huge, beautiful, and comfortable, and the clients are great people too. Dr. Driscoll (aka Dr. Py) is the best doctor ever. She is compassionate, attentive, and brilliant. I also appreciated that staff took me to outside appointments when I needed them.
Even when I (or others!) had our “diva moments,” the staff always treated us with patience, kindness, and respect. They really listen and hear you out.
Alta Mira is meant to be a 90-day program, and my friend who’s doing the full 90 is getting brain scans, cheek swab testing, and neuropsych testing - so if you can, do the full program. You’ll get the most out of it.
I could not recommend Alta Mira highly enough. It was the best decision I ever made, and I’m eternally grateful for everyone there for helping me heal, grow, and truly find myself again.

Alta Mira was an exceptional experience in 2020 and I recently celebrated 4 years of sobriety. The therapist I had in the program set me on a wonderful path to a better future. The alumni program is one of the best parts of my current journey along with the quarterly tune ups where we get to see our amazing community and the opportunity to give back to others.
