One big thing I learned or realized was that this treatment wasn’t necessarily supposed to “fix” something with me as if I was a machine, but to help me to dive deep into what I was running away from or avoid, give me tools to manage the discomfort, and to have a better relationship with myself and how I view my own struggles and experiences. I was hesitant about starting the program, especially because of the group sessions. I honestly didn’t think I would be able to open up and share my trauma, struggles, and personal experiences with a group of people. But I was completely wrong. From the beginning, I discovered that this program is truly something special. The therapists are wonderful, compassionate, knowledgeable, supportive, and full of wisdom. The staff is kind, caring, and always willing to help with anything you may need. The people in the groups are phenomenal. Sharing your experiences in such a safe and supportive environment can be difficult, but the therapists know exactly how to guide you through it. The feedback from the group is always filled with compassion, understanding, empathy, and encouragement. I never expected to feel so comfortable being vulnerable and sharing things I had carried for so long. Every session provides valuable knowledge and practical tools that you can use in your everyday life. I am especially grateful for how much this program has helped me work through my anxiety, panic attacks, and past traumas. I have learned so much about myself, healing, self-compassion, and how to move forward in a healthier way. I wholeheartedly recommend Harmony Place to anyone who is struggling and looking for support. To me, this program feels like a true metanoia, a profound transformation. Olga Olga Quintero 1 month ago I was apprehensive about going to Harmony in the beginning because I had never had any kind of therapy before and it was honestly a scary thought. It has honestly changed my life. I was in such a bad place I didn't think anything would help. The staff are wonderful, caring, understanding and respectful to your individual needs. I was scared of doing group therapy but it was probably the best part. My therapist Hayden was cunningly brilliant. I don't have much to compare to but I'd go out on a limb and say it's what you can only hope for in a patient therapist connection. Hayden helped me through some pretty deep trauma with compassion and caring but also that little push when needed. The only complaint I have is I can't continue with him as an outpatient therapist because he's honestly brilliant at what he does. All of the other therapist are exactly the same during group therapy. Although different styles they were just as compassionate and caring as Hayden. I generally don't write reviews for things but it would be a travesty not to for Harmony Place. I'll never forget what this program has done for me and can't thank every staff member and therapist enough for the help they have given me. Not only that but I have made bonds and what I can see as lifelong friendships with the other clients I met in program. I would recommend Harmony to anyone having issues and in need of help. It sits perched on a hill in Seaside overlooking the gorgeous Monterey Bay. They have very caring professional counselors who help navigate you toward a new start. One thing that is certain, you will get the tools you need but the key is to use them! One will get as much as one puts in. It could be easy to breeze thru this program but unless you are willing to delve in deep you won't get much out of it. The food is wonderful. The social model creates an atmosphere of team work. There aren't any dogmas or ideologies that are forced on one. It is a great place to launch your sobriety! This review is for the Alsana in Monterey, CA, however my review of their programing can be applied to the other locations as well. What really struck me about this program is the attention to each individual client and their intention to "bring as much of home" into the program as possible. The program highly focuses on clients relations( relation to self, to others, to their culture, their spirituality) and works at tailoring healing through the lens of these relationships. They also focus on healthy relation to movement, which I think is a really great aspect of the program. And in regards to the Monterey location, it is in such a beautiful spot. Just the access to nature can help support in recovery. I am often recommending Alsana to my clients, and wanted to leave this review as a recommendation for anyone looking!
