Elevate was an experience I'll never forget. I didn't want to go to rehab. As a man I didn't want to admit I needed help. I was afraid. To lose my job, my family and my life. But I had to do something.
The counselor over the phone was very reassuring and I came for a tour of the Santa Cruz location. I was glad to see people my own age (45) but most of the crowd was younger than me. However, they made me feel comfortable. It sort of felt like a summer camp,
Lindsay the crossfit instructor was very helpful. I hate workign out but she gave me the right amount of healthy motivation and push. I work out on my own now and I feel so much better about myself. I learned so much from the counselors, especially Tim who was one of the nicest people I've ever met.
I didn't want to go but I'm so glad I did. I have tears as i type this that Elevate really has changed my life. I still have to work for it, but I'm living proof that this program can work!

I have been through other treatment facilities in the past; but Elevate has by far been the best experience I could’ve hoped for. Recovery isn’t just the ability to abstain from substances, but the capability of transforming from within. Staff was amazing, My detox was was a 21 one day taper, because I used almost a century. With the help of Amanda Darlene Brandy Momma D. They made it happen . It was a rough 30 days. I truly was not ready for the outside world so with the help of Amanda and myself I stayed another 30 . I completed a60 day stay total it was incredible with the tools I learned at BFR my recovery was incredible. Anyone who was like me with a opiod addiction . I would highly recommend Bright future. At my lowest broken point in life, Bright Future accepted me with open arms. The staff is incredible. All staff had my best interest in mind: from dealing with addiction, to personal issues, and a listening ear. The staff is also so very approachable and genuine. I look for reasons to go back to see them as often as I can just to say hello as they helped me save my life.
The house is very nice and comfortable. As a resident you have space to meditate, read, or relax. Also have very sufficient space for residents to mingle and build friendships. Prepared food throughout the week to enjoy on you own time

I had been losing my battle with recovery for almost fifteen years when Wellness Retreat was recommended to me. I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. This is more than a Rehab, this is a Wellness Center. If you want a life worth living without drugs and alcohol, start here.

This was my very first time seeking VA health service, and I was so impressed with everyone's professionalism. At first, the receptionist told me that I canceled my own appointment; which was rather weird; but we quickly resolved the issue, and I was seen in the optometry department. Using the VA hospital system in any city, state is not the same. I had to move around to couch surf and homeless for over ten years ending up in states between California and Florida including Washington and Utah. I have had to restart everything over every time I moved and I learned a few things over those 10 years about doctor appointments and different appointments for eyes and blood work so let me begin by saying that if you show up at 10 am and it's not busy or 1 pm and it's a mad house, either way just tell them that you are using the VA transportation and you are on a scheduled pickup and they usually move you through pretty quickly.
I can't say it's foolproof but it's a little bit of an edge for those complaining about long waiting for blood work. Just remember, don't set the bar too high of expectation, you get what you pay for, and if you don't like the VA then just pay for private health care.
Oh, they get complaints but nothing like the VA hospital system.

I was sad seeing all the negative reviews. My son was sent to SJBH ( minor department) Pacifica to be exact and we had a great experience. Taylor the social worker was so kind, helpful, and responsive. She truly was God sent she did everything to help my son during this difficult time for him and my family. Taylor and the team continued to keep me informed on my son's behavior, medication, and overall needs. Doctor GG and nurse Angela, Ryan, and Walter were also great people who helped my son. My son still says Ryan deserves a raise. Hopefully he gets one. Everyone was compassionate, nurturing, and supportive. I personally can say nothing but good things even for the receptionist and other staff that helped my son and my family. My son stayed here for 2 weeks. I hope whoever reads this review understands it takes a lot of trust for a parent to give to other adults to look after your child. And I honestly felt my son was safe in their care. I thank everyone for the help and support you gave my son. I truly pray that he continues to get better as he moves on from Sunol Hills to a PHP program closer to our home. Thank you SJBH and staff thank you Taylor for caring and showing my son compassion. I am forever grateful for you all.

My friend often talked about how much they appreciated the positive atmosphere and how the staff and other participants helped them feel part of a community. It was heartwarming to see them regain their confidence and discover their strength.
