Our experience with Elevate Addiction Services has been truly life-changing. From the very beginning, the director, family liaisons, counselors, therapists, continuing care coordinators, house dad's - we felt genuine compassion and care from everyone we had the pleasure of interacting with. We were kept informed of how our son was doing every step of the way. It never felt like we were alone in this. Everyone at Elevate was fighting for our son right alongside of us.
The love and compassion shown to our son meant everything. Today, he is living clean & sober, feeling confident in the tools and foundation Elevate equipped him with. Narconon literally saved my brother life. Saved him mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. Not to mention at the time I really wanted to straggle him ..It was impossible for me to get though to him. It was not an easy task but 6 month later, he came home clean. Yes he did stay and work there after he was done with the program and they treated him very well as an employee too. Now lately he's been the one helping my family thought some difficult financial times. I am sooo pround of him.
There are so many positive story but its alway the few negative ones that get all the attention. To the people complaining about the cost of rehab.....they obviously over looked the cost of addition..My brother is the world to me and I have no regrets on sending him though this program ..I would highly recommend Narconon to anyone that is serious about sobriety!!!! At my lowest broken point in life, Bright Future accepted me with open arms. The staff is incredible. All staff had my best interest in mind: from dealing with addiction, to personal issues, and a listening ear. The staff is also so very approachable and genuine. I look for reasons to go back to see them as often as I can just to say hello as they helped me save my life.
The house is very nice and comfortable. As a resident you have space to meditate, read, or relax. Also have very sufficient space for residents to mingle and build friendships. Prepared food throughout the week to enjoy on you own time

I had been losing my battle with recovery for almost fifteen years when Wellness Retreat was recommended to me. I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. This is more than a Rehab, this is a Wellness Center. If you want a life worth living without drugs and alcohol, start here.

I admitted into treatment at Harmony Place around Feb 2018 and I have experienced significant changes in my thinking, self talk,depression/ anxiety as well as tremendous healing from my PTSD. I had the privilege of having Dr. Mark Schwartz as my primary therapist for the duration of my treatment and I couldn't be more grateful for his aid in changing my life. Dr. Schwartz has an extremely kind approach and made me feel 100% comfortable from day one. I was the person that saw myself as broken and hopeless and I can honestly say that I no longer feel this way and feel like Harmony Place gave me the jump start I needed to begin my recovery. My experience at Harmony Place Monterey was absolutely positive and I am a stronger, more emotionally aware and healthier person because of my time there. I saw Mark and Lori in individual sessions and am incredibly grateful for their genuine care. I respect their abilities as therapists. They are terrific! I have been to several treatment programs for my eating disorder and this is the first time I have truly felt optimistic about my recovery in the long term.

I came to harmony place after reaching a culmination of overwhelming emotions regarding childhood trauma and the end of a long term relationship. I was at a point of extreme depression, high anxiety, and severe panic attacks. I didn’t know what to expect coming in and like the issues I was experiencing would never cease. From day one I was welcomed and made to feel at home by the entire staff and my own individual therapist. Over the course of my time in the program, I connected with others in a way I never could have imagined. I had never felt so seen, heard, understood or so connected to people like the wonderful participants I met at harmony place. I made leaps and bounds with the combination of the therapy groups and individual sessions. All of the therapists are such compassionate, empathetic, and truly special people. The work I have done here was life changing and I’m definitely a different person leaving than when I first arrived. I’m so much more happier, content, verbal with emotions, and secure within my own personhood. On top of that, I’ve made such amazing friends through this program. I would recommend that anyone who is struggling with mental health to go through the program at Harmony Place. It’s truly a gift and will change your life for the better.

This was my very first time seeking VA health service, and I was so impressed with everyone's professionalism. At first, the receptionist told me that I canceled my own appointment; which was rather weird; but we quickly resolved the issue, and I was seen in the optometry department. Using the VA hospital system in any city, state is not the same. I had to move around to couch surf and homeless for over ten years ending up in states between California and Florida including Washington and Utah. I have had to restart everything over every time I moved and I learned a few things over those 10 years about doctor appointments and different appointments for eyes and blood work so let me begin by saying that if you show up at 10 am and it's not busy or 1 pm and it's a mad house, either way just tell them that you are using the VA transportation and you are on a scheduled pickup and they usually move you through pretty quickly.
I can't say it's foolproof but it's a little bit of an edge for those complaining about long waiting for blood work. Just remember, don't set the bar too high of expectation, you get what you pay for, and if you don't like the VA then just pay for private health care.
Oh, they get complaints but nothing like the VA hospital system.

I was sad seeing all the negative reviews. My son was sent to SJBH ( minor department) Pacifica to be exact and we had a great experience. Taylor the social worker was so kind, helpful, and responsive. She truly was God sent she did everything to help my son during this difficult time for him and my family. Taylor and the team continued to keep me informed on my son's behavior, medication, and overall needs. Doctor GG and nurse Angela, Ryan, and Walter were also great people who helped my son. My son still says Ryan deserves a raise. Hopefully he gets one. Everyone was compassionate, nurturing, and supportive. I personally can say nothing but good things even for the receptionist and other staff that helped my son and my family. My son stayed here for 2 weeks. I hope whoever reads this review understands it takes a lot of trust for a parent to give to other adults to look after your child. And I honestly felt my son was safe in their care. I thank everyone for the help and support you gave my son. I truly pray that he continues to get better as he moves on from Sunol Hills to a PHP program closer to our home. I went here two times and if you want to change your life and get on your feet,..this is the place to go to! i was court ordered the first time for 90 days I ended up graduating after 6 months on my own recognizance. Hit a low point in my sobriety and knew what I needed to do the second time cause I had the 1st time in my tool box. I highly recommend this place to ANYONE who needs help with their life. Genesis House is an Excellent Recovery Center. It sits perched on a hill in Seaside overlooking the gorgeous Monterey Bay. They have very caring professional counselors who help navigate you toward a new start. One thing that is certain, you will get the tools you need but the key is to use them! One will get as much as one puts in. It could be easy to breeze thru this program but unless you are willing to delve in deep you won't get much out of it. The food is wonderful. The social model creates an atmosphere of team work.
There aren't any dogmas or ideologies that are forced on one. It is a great place to launch your sobriety!

As a clinician I can highly recommend Alsana. This review is for the Alsana in Monterey, CA, however my review of their programing can be applied to the other locations as well. What really struck me about this program is the attention to each individual client and their intention to "bring as much of home" into the program as possible. The program highly focuses on clients relations( relation to self, to others, to their culture, their spirituality) and works at tailoring healing through the lens of these relationships. They also focus on healthy relation to movement, which I think is a really great aspect of the program. And in regards to the Monterey location, it is in such a beautiful spot. Just the access to nature can help support in recovery. I am often recommending Alsana to my clients, and wanted to leave this review as a recommendation for anyone looking!
