Monterey, California | Harmony Place, located in Monterey, California, provides outpatient treatment to adults aged 18 and over who are living with co-occurring disorders. Their primary focus is on treating eating disorders, addiction, and psychiatric conditions. Alcohol and drug rehab services are provided through outpatient levels of care. The partial hospitalization | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I came to harmony place after reaching a culmination of overwhelming emotions regarding childhood trauma and the end of a long term relationship. I was at a point of extreme depression, high anxiety, and severe panic attacks. I didn’t know what to expect coming in and like the issues I was experiencing would never cease. From day one I was welcomed and made to feel at home by the entire staff and my own individual therapist. Over the course of my time in the program, I connected with others in a way I never could have imagined. I had never felt so seen, heard, understood or so connected to people like the wonderful participants I met at harmony place. I made leaps and bounds with the combination of the therapy groups and individual sessions. All of the therapists are such compassionate, empathetic, and truly special people. The work I have done here was life changing and I’m definitely a different person leaving than when I first arrived. I’m so much more happier, content, verbal with emotions, and secure within my own personhood. On top of that, I’ve made such amazing friends through this program. I would recommend that anyone who is struggling with mental health to go through the program at Harmony Place. It’s truly a gift and will change your life for the better.

I came to Harmony struggling with major depression, complex trauma, and depersonalization-derealization disorder. After an extended stay at Harmony, I can confidently say that most of my symptoms have subsided and that I feel excited to start my next chapter with a fresh perspective on life.
Harmony uses an attachment-based model of trauma therapy, which was one of the main reasons I chose to come here. Many complex trauma survivors have disorded attachment and therapy with a relational focus has been the most effective for me.
The program offers individual therapy multiple times a week, core group therapy, art, drama, psychoeducational, and CBT/DBT skills classes. I've found the variety of classes to be useful at different phases in my time here.
The staff is exceedingly compassionate and actively invested in your well-being and success in the program. From the therapists to the front desk, I've felt thoroughly safe and supported under their care.
Furthermore, the community has some of the kindest people I've met and I've formed deep fulfilling friendships with the other clients.
Thank you to Mark, Lori, my individual therapist Hayden, and each and every staff member for playing a part in transforming my life.

Harmony Place changed my life. Even starting at intake, I was welcomed with nurturing and encouraging arms. My individual therapist and I created a deep bond, and I truly felt safe enough with her to face my deepest fears, insecurities, and traumas. The entire staff is so sensitive, welcoming, and truly brilliant. I came in terrified, trembling in my seat and by the end I was able to walk up to therapists with a smile, speak my needs, and ultimately - feel safe and at home - within the program and within myself. I healed what I came for, and also healed and addressed things I never knew were there within me. This place has transformed and freed me. Anybody considering intake, as I once was, I encourage you to take that leap of faith. I know how terrifying it is. But it will be so worth it, more than you can even imagine. This is what happened with me. I love Harmony Place, it will always have a special place in my heart and I am so grateful. And this is just a summary!

At my lowest broken point in life, Bright Future accepted me with open arms. The staff is incredible. All staff had my best interest in mind: from dealing with addiction, to personal issues, and a listening ear. The staff is also so very approachable and genuine. I look for reasons to go back to see them as often as I can just to say hello as they helped me save my life.
The house is very nice and comfortable. As a resident you have space to meditate, read, or relax. Also have very sufficient space for residents to mingle and build friendships. Prepared food throughout the week to enjoy on you own time
I highly recommend

The camp saved my life and changed my outlook on life and recovery. From the start I was cared for by a professional care team. I was able to detox in a quiet safe cabin. Once I felt ready to participate in the groups I did. The other clients were also very welcoming making my transition into recovery less stressful. By doing both group and individual therapy I have been able to stay clean. I learned about the disease of addiction and about myself. I gained critical coping skills as well. I continued with outpatient group therapy and continued to add up my victories along the way. Because of the care team at the camp I am able to be the person who I always wanted to be. Successful, loving, non dependent on drugs or alcohol and soooo much more. Most of all I love the person that I am today. Thank you everyone for being there for me even when I sat on that bench and cried. I have been to other recovery institutions and the camp is the one that did it for me. Hector, Torrey and everyone including the kitchen staff, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To the Nursing Leadership Team at Mills-Peninsula Hospital,
I recently had a very challenge surgery at your hospital, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible nurses who cared for me during my stay. This was one of the most significant moments of my life, and the kindness, professionalism, and compassion shown by your team made all the difference in my recovery.
I especially want to recognize Megan, Olga, Therese, Dominique, and Journey for their exceptional care. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, safe, and emotionally supported through every step of this major procedure. Their gentle reassurance, attention to detail, and genuine compassion helped transform what could have been a very difficult experience into one filled with hope and calm.
Thanks to their dedication, I am now healing well, walking again, and looking forward to the months of recovery ahead. I truly felt cared for not only as a patient, but as a person.
Please extend my heartfelt appreciation to each of these nurses and let them know how much their professionalism and warmth meant to me. Mills-Peninsula Hospital should be proud to have such an outstanding team representing the best in patient care.
With sincere gratitude,

I've been going to the BAART clinic in Antioch, CA for nearly 8 hrs and absolutely love the program. So much so I got my BFF to get treatment there and she also lives it and is so glad she took the initiative to go there and like me has found relief from the bandage of addiction. I've had a few counselors and love them all. It is like a big family there from the counselors to the dispensing nurses and all the patients. All the patients know each other and support each other. You feel very safe & supported in their relaxed, chill & friendly environment. I would recommend it to anyone experiencing the bondage of addiction. Bcz now instead of the stress of finding opiates and fear of not having them and facing withdrawal now i just take my dose in the morning and don't even think about opiates the rest of the day. Opiate addiction can be an all consuming full time job in which your entire life revolves around getting enough opiates fearing running out and the absolute misery of withdrawal. when you can't get them. But going to BAART has gotten me off that hammster wheel so I can enjoy my life without having to even think about opiates anymore. If you in bondage to opiate addiction do yourself a favor and FREE yourself by going to BAART and start truly livingb& enjoying your life.

I gotta give these guys 5 stars mainly because the only other review is an (in my opinion) unfair one star rating. I was in Villa Fairmont several years ago and while it may have had some problems (more like a 3.5 or 4 star) it was a place that helped me stabilize in a safe location until I was accepted in a Dual Diagnosis Recovery Home (Bonita House). I currently work in the recovery field and live an independent life. To me that is worth all of the struggles that I have had with any of the programs I have been in. Gotta go through hell before you get to heaven. That's just the way it is when you have a diagnosis that isn't socially acceptable... The system may not be perfect and there is certainly lots of broken components, but we need some kind of system and it does work for some. I know because I'm one.

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.
