Elevate was an experience I'll never forget. I didn't want to go to rehab. As a man I didn't want to admit I needed help. I was afraid. To lose my job, my family and my life. But I had to do something.
The counselor over the phone was very reassuring and I came for a tour of the Santa Cruz location. I was glad to see people my own age (45) but most of the crowd was younger than me. However, they made me feel comfortable. It sort of felt like a summer camp,
Lindsay the crossfit instructor was very helpful. I hate workign out but she gave me the right amount of healthy motivation and push. I work out on my own now and I feel so much better about myself. I learned so much from the counselors, especially Tim who was one of the nicest people I've ever met.
I didn't want to go but I'm so glad I did. I have tears as i type this that Elevate really has changed my life. I still have to work for it, but I'm living proof that this program can work!

I have been through other treatment facilities in the past; but Elevate has by far been the best experience I could’ve hoped for. Recovery isn’t just the ability to abstain from substances, but the capability of transforming from within. I admitted into treatment at Harmony Place around Feb 2018 and I have experienced significant changes in my thinking, self talk,depression/ anxiety as well as tremendous healing from my PTSD. I had the privilege of having Dr. Mark Schwartz as my primary therapist for the duration of my treatment and I couldn't be more grateful for his aid in changing my life. Dr. Schwartz has an extremely kind approach and made me feel 100% comfortable from day one. I was the person that saw myself as broken and hopeless and I can honestly say that I no longer feel this way and feel like Harmony Place gave me the jump start I needed to begin my recovery. I can't begin to explain my gratitude for all of the staff. I will absolutely refer any loved one to Harmony Place!!!!!!

My experience at Harmony Place Monterey was absolutely positive and I am a stronger, more emotionally aware and healthier person because of my time there. I saw Mark and Lori in individual sessions and am incredibly grateful for their genuine care. I respect their abilities as therapists. They are terrific! I have been to several treatment programs for my eating disorder and this is the first time I have truly felt optimistic about my recovery in the long term.

I came to harmony place after reaching a culmination of overwhelming emotions regarding childhood trauma and the end of a long term relationship. I was at a point of extreme depression, high anxiety, and severe panic attacks. I didn’t know what to expect coming in and like the issues I was experiencing would never cease. From day one I was welcomed and made to feel at home by the entire staff and my own individual therapist. Over the course of my time in the program, I connected with others in a way I never could have imagined. I had never felt so seen, heard, understood or so connected to people like the wonderful participants I met at harmony place. I made leaps and bounds with the combination of the therapy groups and individual sessions. All of the therapists are such compassionate, empathetic, and truly special people. The work I have done here was life changing and I’m definitely a different person leaving than when I first arrived. I’m so much more happier, content, verbal with emotions, and secure within my own personhood. On top of that, I’ve made such amazing friends through this program. I would recommend that anyone who is struggling with mental health to go through the program at Harmony Place. It’s truly a gift and will change your life for the better.

I went here two times and if you want to change your life and get on your feet,..this is the place to go to! i was court ordered the first time for 90 days I ended up graduating after 6 months on my own recognizance. Hit a low point in my sobriety and knew what I needed to do the second time cause I had the 1st time in my tool box. I highly recommend this place to ANYONE who needs help with their life. I made friends there that will be the best and closest I will ever have in that place.

Genesis House is an Excellent Recovery Center. It sits perched on a hill in Seaside overlooking the gorgeous Monterey Bay. They have very caring professional counselors who help navigate you toward a new start. One thing that is certain, you will get the tools you need but the key is to use them! One will get as much as one puts in. It could be easy to breeze thru this program but unless you are willing to delve in deep you won't get much out of it. The food is wonderful. The social model creates an atmosphere of team work.
There aren't any dogmas or ideologies that are forced on one. It is a great place to launch your sobriety!

As a clinician I can highly recommend Alsana. This review is for the Alsana in Monterey, CA, however my review of their programing can be applied to the other locations as well. What really struck me about this program is the attention to each individual client and their intention to "bring as much of home" into the program as possible. The program highly focuses on clients relations( relation to self, to others, to their culture, their spirituality) and works at tailoring healing through the lens of these relationships. They also focus on healthy relation to movement, which I think is a really great aspect of the program. And in regards to the Monterey location, it is in such a beautiful spot. Just the access to nature can help support in recovery. I am often recommending Alsana to my clients, and wanted to leave this review as a recommendation for anyone looking!

I've read a few reviews that had some incorrect information for people reading. I have been there for 1 year. Someone said they lower your does if you miss a day and kicked out after 3 no-shows. If you miss 3 your dose gets lowered not for 1 day and you are nowhere near kicked out for 3. I would have been booted way back. Also someone said you can't start same day. May be true but you can in 2. As far as making it there by 12:30. I don't make it every day but you can if you want to . It's not that hard. I've been to clinics like that though and it's tough. Dirty uas do not lower your dose either. Not even. I gave it 5 stars for the people working there

I've been going there as a patient and even worked there off and on since it was named "Triad" back in the late 90s and it's a great clinic for MMT/MAT. At times it's definitely been less than perfect, particularly in the past (2003 to 2005). But since Janus has taken over they're far more consistent and reliable now.
Counselors can be a mixed bag, but that's true anywhere and the vast majority of the time they're great. It's a good program, you just have to be willing to work it. Do that and you have a very high chance that you'll succeed.
