My recent 30 day residential treatment at Casa Serena was far more personal and professional than I expected. The home and grounds have a peaceful vibe. I felt safe and definitely seen as an individual by the group leaders and therapists. Being together with a small number of woman fostered sincere, honest conversations. Casa Serena provided me with the tools to replace my addiction with something far better. Self respect, better judgement, hope and continued growth through the alumni community. If you are willing to take advantage of what they have to offer, you will walk out that beautiful front door after treatment to a whole new sober life.

I am so grateful for Casa Serena. The home is serene and beautiful inside and out. The interprofessional staff members are well educated in the unique needs of the young girls/women who have come to Casa for help. They are compassionate and so encouraging. While our daughter received exceptional care at Casa, we, as family members were also invited to attend weekly ZOOM meetings with other parents, spouses affected by various addictions. The meetings helped us to see that we were not alone in this journey with our daughter and helped us move forward with our lives. I will always be so thankful for Casa and the support they continue to give. It was definitely the best place our daughter ever went to for her alcoholism. After 248 days, she remains sober. One day at a time! She continues to go to the alumni meetings on Wednesday night at Casa. Even though people “graduate” from Casa Serena after a few weeks of in-house treatment, they continue to offer in-person support, as needed.

CRC is an outstanding rehab I highly recommend. The compassionate staff and serene location, just two blocks from the ocean, provide an ideal setting for recovery. Santa Barbara’s strong recovery community is bolstered by CRC’s dedicated doctors and therapists, who deliver personalized care through counseling, 12-step meetings, and therapies like stress management. Unlike some newer sober living facilities that lack sufficient support, CRC offers comprehensive programs and a robust support. Lots of alum in long term sobriety.

Let me be perfectly honest with this place. It’s the most beautiful and amazing place to get sober. I came here from 5Bath. My experience came in twofold first I was shunned by a bunch of patients who came in together. I didn’t care because about their issues. They were kicked out because of drugs. This place has saved my life with the most knowledgeable and caring staff. So don’t listen to people who were kicked out for not keeping this place safe. Please trust in what I am telling you. Great place to get your life back together. Thanks CRC

I lived at The Giving Tree from December 2024 to July 2025, and I’m so grateful I found it. I came there after multiple relapses, feeling hopeless, and needing a place where I could feel safe, supported, and focus on my recovery. It was exactly what I needed during one of the hardest times in my life. Donette and the entire staff truly care about the women who live there. They create a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment while also providing the structure and accountability that helped me grow. I’m now 18 months sober, and The Giving Tree played a huge role in helping me get here. If you’re looking for a women’s sober living in Santa Barbara, I highly recommend The Giving Tree. The Giving Tree was the safe, warm, accountable environment that I desperately needed to help get me on my feet at the worst, most vulnerable times in my life. I am forever grateful to Donette, and the staff at the Tree for helping give me the tools I needed to help build the amazing life I have today. Mission Harbor was there for me when I needed the most help. I have healed mentally, grown emotionally & spiritually, realized my strength and areas for growth. I recommend "taking what you like and leaving the rest". It seems like people have a wide range of experiences here... I was not there for substance abuse. I found some groups very insightful while others were not for me. While I hate to say it, I found myself caught off guard in a community group setting. I think all of the staffs' intentions are honest and good, but like anything there will be politics and uncomfortable dynamics. You will grow here and find at least one person to be a support system while you work through the difficult parts.

A pretty straightforward and simple program, the zoom education is easy and provides quite a good bit of useful information. They provide a pretty simple course that is very easy to complete if you can show up on time every week. The staff are all very helpful and all a pleasure to work with. People complain ALOT about the late fees for missing classes or the way the program is run, it is a state audited program so they have to follow the rules and guidelines set by the state. If you show up on time like you would have to for practically any other meeting in your life it is very easy and you don’t have to pay any additional fees.
Nicolas Cristiani

My experience with Zona Seca has been overall positive. They are a non-profit, not charging for any sort of gain, the fees are there to help control some of the chaos of having to constantly reschedule, etc. There is a wait time to get in, so why would they cater to people who aren't going to do what is needed. The people that work there truly care and want to help. Sometimes that means saying things people don't want to hear, which is another reason I'm sure they get such bad reviews. Yes they are strict about missing classes/rescheduling, but the rules are made VERY clear from the beginning. For those complaining about fees, maybe you should have read the contract when you enrolled?

New House is a structured recovery residence for men, located in Santa Barbara, California. The program also provides valuable community resources, mental health services, case management, and community referrals. Addiction-related services offered at New House Street include counseling, peer support, recovery meetings, employment and legal service
I recently had the privilege of staying at New House 2, a sober house dedicated to helping individuals transition into a life of sobriety and personal growth. My experience at New House 2 has been nothing short of transformative, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on how this remarkable establishment fosters a sense of unity and helps residents break free from the clutches of ego. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and compassion by the dedicated staff members who truly understand the challenges of addiction recovery. The environment at New House 2 is incredibly supportive, fostering a sense of camaraderie among residents. This emphasis on teamwork is what sets this sober house apart from others. One of the core principles emphasized at New House 2 is the importance of being a team player. Through various activities and group meetings , residents are encouraged to work together, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes. This collaborative approach creates an atmosphere of unity and shared responsibility, reminding us that we are not alone on this journey. New House 2 also recognizes the detrimental effects of ego on the recovery process. Ego can hinder personal growth and prevent individuals from fully embracing their sobriety. The staff at New House 2 are well-versed in addressing these challenges and provide invaluable guidance to help residents focus on self-reflection, accountability, and letting go of ego-driven behaviors. Living at New House 2, I quickly learned that the path to lasting sobriety is paved with humility, empathy, and a willingness to learn from others. The housemates I shared this experience with became an extended family, offering unwavering support and genuine friendship. Together, we discovered the true power of teamwork, as we celebrated each other's triumphs and lifted each other up during challenging times. The facilities at New House 2 are excellent, providing a safe and comfortable living environment conducive to healing and personal growth. The staff members are not only compassionate and knowledgeable but also serve as role models, leading by example and demonstrating the importance of being a team player. They create an atmosphere where residents feel encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, build meaningful relationships, and contribute positively to the recovery community. In conclusion, New House 2 is a beacon of hope for those seeking a transformative sober living experience. The emphasis on teamwork and the dedication to helping individuals shed their egos is truly commendable. If you're looking for a sober house that prioritizes personal growth, community support, and the development of essential life skills, I wholeheartedly recommend New House 2. Your journey to sobriety will be met with compassion, understanding, and the invaluable gift of learning to be a team player and embracing a life free from ego.

Pretty much saved my life. I moved to Santa Barbara from Bakersfield looking for a sober living house and to be closer to my sponsor. I Googled and visited about 4 sober living places and after visiting several, New House 2 was the choice I was and still am happy I chose. It's a 12 step House where the really focus on sobriety. Working a program and getting a sponsor is something very important here. The food is great and the brotherhood is great as well. Not your typical business review here but this is a government place and I've been there and the workers are serious about their job. Are they that helpful? They do what they can. I received many free rides and the counselling was sincere, what more could you ask for?

It was my first time going into treatment and I was scared to fly to California. I'm happy I made the decision to trust Enlight with my safety and wellbeing. These people really know how to change lives, speaking from experience. I was battling with alcohol, drugs and mental health issues that I was never able to address. I was scared that my job was going to penalize me but the team worked well with my employer so that I can really take my time and focus on my recovery. This was the best decision I have ever made. I feel changed, finally ready to live the life I deserve. Thank you to Enlight and the doctors here for saving my life. This was the best decision I have ever made

As I sit here, dead of winter in Upstate New York. I appreciate the time I spent at Enlight Treatment center. This is usually the time I would look for something to lift my mood. Depression gets the best of me and I spiral. I was able to really open up there. I was able to unload and place a lot of my unresolved feelings aside. They really have wonderful people there. If you're serious about getting rid of whatever it is you need to get rid of.. I would absolutely go! The food wasn't too bad either😘
