Where do I even begin? My time at Enlight was nothing short of extraordinary. I arrived to this treatment center during one of the lowest points of my life. I was living out of my hammock on the border of Los Padres National Forest, deciding that I would exile myself from the pleasantries of having any friends or continuing to be a member of my family. After 3 months of living in the bush, I decided to go get help. In the 80 days that I was at Enlight, I started the 12 Steps, I picked up my first sponsor, and most importantly, I found myself again. After years of suffering with a clouded conscience and minimial self-confidence, the staff here helped me regain my sense of belonging and made me feel proud of who I am. Chef Carlito went from being the guy who prepared all the meals 6 days a week to being a true friend to me. Mish and Will consistently made sure that I was comfortable during my time at the facility, and also ensured that my after-care plans were the best they could offer. The entire IMS team; Chase, Charles, West, Atom, Anna, and Chris always offered their friendship and conversation no matter the time of day. The clinical staff; Yayé, Narine, Karen, Kristen, and Jen helped me examine my deficiencies that I developed while in active addiction so that I could work to rebuild, and find my true sense of self once more. A close friend of my mine was battling with years of alcohol addiction. We had taken him to multiple detox centers here in New Jersey where we live but nothing would really change in his behavior. He would maintain a few weeks of sobriety but would always end up back to the bottle. Finally we found Enlight Treatment Center after a few psychiatrists here in New Jersey had recommended we come out to california to get our friend the help that he needs. Its been about two years since he completed the program at Enlight and we never thought he would be where he is today. 2 years sober with a healthy family life. Man, cant thank Enlight enough for the work that they have done for us, my friend and his family. If youre looking for a detox facility, dont waste time looking elsewhere. Dr. Alber and Dr. Gevorkian are working magic here. God bless the work you guys do. I would recommend this program to anyone who is struggling with addiction or mental health 100/10 times

Enlight is one of the only places for detox and mental health rehabilitation that offers psychiatric care in person. They had 3 different MD psychiatrists that we meet in person and address all substance abuse and mental health needs in person as opposed to other centers that only see clients over zoom. My stay at Elevation.
I was in a pretty rough place and needed to get some intensive support. I found Elevation while researching and what drew to me to them vs other places I saw was;
* Private Room. I had to be honest with myself that this was something important to me, to have my own space.
* Daily Individual Therapy. In addition to group having daily individual therapy to help work through things and make the most of the time there.
* Electronic Devices Allowed. I have two young kids and I wanted to be able to stay in contact with family as well as use my laptop to research and view content related to what I was working through.
After filling out the form on the website Stephanie the admissions director reached out right away. Before she walked me through more details about the program she checked in to make sure I was ok, I felt supported already. She helped answer all my questions as well as get the information she needed to verify insurance coverage and what I would have to pay out of pocket. She got back to me quickly again and we figured out an admission date.
When I arrived in Los Angeles I was picked up at the airport and driven to their Calabasas house.
I won’t go into too many details about the house, it’s pretty fantastic and there are picture on the website.
I was greeted upon arrival, checked in, given a tour, and sometime to settle in my room.
Everyone in the house from the cleaner, chef, coaches, therapists, and psychiatrist are supportive and genuinely interested in making you comfortable and ready for doing the personal work you need.
There is a wonderful variety of therapies from individual, group, equine, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, nature walks, pool/jacuzzi, art, and music which all come at your problems from different angles and build on each other. The coaches are always available and engaged between sessions to keep the momentum going and support you.
Having daily individual therapy plus two groups daily helped me dive deep into the underlying issues I was facing and my progress built on itself everyday. I felt like I was making a months progress every week. My therapist Chad was just what I needed, he was thoughtful, creative and pushed when needed to help me go further.
I arrived in a very low state (not my usual self) and was able to quickly let go and unravel, the staff and my fellow patients helped put me back together and create sustainable coping techniques and strategies so I could return home a new person.
Having house-mates was a wonderful experience, even though we all came from very different walks of life and reasons for coming, we found deep common ground and support with each other. We laughed, and cried, and laughed again together.
The center of a house is the kitchen, and at Elevation this was no exception. Chef Jerry and Josh not only made amazing and healthy food, they were open to having us join the process and learn how to cook. We spent most of our afternoons between sessions joining in on the cooking process. Chef Jerry was like another therapist who gave us amazing life advice and was always open to listen to use when we needed a little support. Everyone at elevation from the cleaner to the coaches and the patients all eat the same food together. It felt like a big family.
I felt that when I needed alone time and privacy or wanted to do something social I could move between those modalities anytime. I never felt pressure to join in anything, just welcomed.
I left elevation feeling like a new person, equipped with new skills and strategies to thrive at home and at work. I highly recommend Elevation.

I can’t say enough good things about Elevations Behavioral Health. It’s hands down the best mental health care I’ve ever received. The setting is incredible — beautiful houses, exercise equipment, pools, jacuzzis, and so many community resources. They will take you on outings to the Pacific Ocean to watch sunsets — and yes, you *will* see dolphins!
From the residential program to the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), every detail is thought about and the staff are always there to help.
The Santa Monica Mountains surround you, and the views are so breathtaking you can sit for hours just taking it all in, meditating, and really feel yourself start to heal.
The food is amazing too — they have private chefs who customize meals to fit your diet and treatment needs, with tons of healthy options.
Unlike most residential treatment programs, you get both individual and group therapy *every day*. That’s really unheard of in a residential program — usually you would receive one or two individual sessions a week
The staff and therapists are absolutely amazing — they genuinely care and don’t let you give up on yourself. I cant name them all because I would forget someone. Too many to count; dedicated and MOre than experts at what they do!
If you’re struggling, please know you’re not alone. Getting help is the best thing you can do for yourself. Elevations changed my life, and it can change yours too. You *are* worth it, and you *can* do hard things. Take the first step — it’s so worth it.

Elevations residential mental health treatment is exceptional. Look no further if you want to receive the best residential mental health care available in the most beautiful setting. You receive daily groups and individual therapy, which is rare in residential mental health treatment in my experience. I recently received residential at Elevations in Calabasas, CA. (Nov. 2024) I felt safe and cared for. Dr. Chaudhri cares deeply about the programs and getting things right. The dedicated technicians make sure that you are always safe and your needs are met. The therapists are dedicated and exceptional in their treatment of complex mental health diagnoses (BiPolar, depression, PTSD, OCD, anxiety.) The psychiatrist is one of the best I've ever had. The services I received and I encourage people to get are: EMDR, Nuerofeedback, massage, life coaching, nutrition consultation, meditation, acupuncture, and yoga. Make them part of your treatment if you can. The journey is hard work but being in such a beautiful place with highly qualified and compassionate people makes it easier. Always advocate for yourself and you will get what you need. I know no matter what I may need in the future Elevations Behavioral Health will be there. My 12 year old son stayed at Beachside for two months in the spring and we brought home a changed child. After struggling with some significant trauma, the counselors that worked with my son were truly wonderful. The weekend activities were excellent including boating and trips to amusement parks. During the week, he learned to surf, completed his school curriculum so that he could graduate from his regular education elementary school, and took hikes at beautiful locations around Malibu. He loved the food, and participated in group and music therapy as well as individual counseling. We spoke on the phone most nights and had great weekend visits. My son is now a thriving 7th grader, enjoying school and close relationships with his friends. I would encourage anyone struggling to give your child the gift of this healing environment.

I highly recommend Avalon if you are seeking treatment for either or both addiction or mental health treatment. I personally had a long struggle with addiction, depression and anxiety. The services and treatment they provided allowed me to heal in what I felt was a safe and comfortable space. All the staff from the RAs to the clinicians to the doctors and even the maids were so welcoming and I believe truly had my best interest in heart. Not only have I noticed this for myself but also with my peers who stayed at Avalon during my time as well. I have seen them treat some cases that were extremely difficult and they did so with precision and care and I was able to witness these people that on some level I thought were hopeless actual heal, get stabilized and come out the other side. We had a truly positive experience with Evolve Teen Treatment in Ojai, CA for our 13/14-year-old daughter. The location is beautiful, right near downtown Ojai, and the environment felt very welcoming from the moment we arrived.
Our daughter struggles with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and challenging behaviors. At Evolve, she was finally able to find her voice. With the support of the incredible staff and therapists, she learned how to better understand her mental health and, for the first time, could articulate what she was feeling.
Evolve kept her engaged every day with a full schedule of therapy and activities like hiking, surfing, yoga, working out, and healthy meals, which helped her get strong both mentally and physically. She stayed for three months the first time and two months the second time (not typical, but necessary in her case). Coming home was hard, but the setbacks were due more to outside influences than the program itself.
What stood out most was the level of care and dedication from the staff and therapists. They weren’t just there for her, but for our whole family. The family sessions were incredibly helpful in teaching us how to best support her. We learned that it’s not about perfection but about progress and resilience, even when things don’t go as planned.
We were in a place of deep hopelessness before finding Evolve, but the program was truly a godsend. It not only helped our daughter, but also gave us the tools to keep growing as a family. This place changed and SAVED my life. It gave me a safe space to heal and provided trustworthy caregivers, doctors and therapists to give me guidance into sobriety and emotional healing. I am 4 months and 24 days clean from drugs and alcohol and I would recommend The Pointe to everyone and anyone. Your loved one or yourself will be taken care of here and it’s so worth it. I have been to other treatment centers in my first bout of trying to get sober in 2020 and The Pointe goes above and beyond. I’m at a completely different mindset and although getting sober is hard work, I truly think The Pointe not only is a beautiful and sacred place to get sober in but every single person went above and beyond to care about me and teach me so many tools to have the open and sober mindset I have now. Gretchen the staff supervisor welcomed me with open arms and saw my immediate needs were met quickly and with haste. She really cares and is great at listening and offering thoughtful solutions in the moment. She really makes things happen. Pierre is the cream of the crop, he picked me up and brought me to Horizons House and calmed all my nerves on the way in. He unpacked my clothes and hung all of them in the closet and showed me around and introduced me to the other clients. The therapist I had was more like a great friend. Jill put me at ease and an instant connection was made. She is the best of the best!! I’m going to miss Cliffside very much, I owe them everything. The program was so great and the facilitators were extremely educated and welcoming. If you come across this in your search I promise this is the place to go with. I loved everything about the Beach House at the Seasons in Malibu. The staff was amazing and the setting beautiful. I felt very spoiled because all my needs were graciously met. I recently completed treatment at Cliffside Malibu, and I can say without hesitation that it is one of the most clinically sophisticated and compassionate programs in the country. When I first called, Admissions told me they were ranked #1 in the state — and after experiencing the quality of care firsthand, I understand exactly why. Our autistic son with ADHD has struggled with impulsivity and anger for years. His stay at BNI has positively impacted him and our family. Most of the staff were very supportive and encouraging. There was an incident where a couple RCCs handled the situation poorly but they were spoken to and it didn’t happen again.
During our son’s 2 month stay, the BNI teacher postponed enrolling him into school. By the time they finally figured out the schooling, he was discharged. Now, he is behind in credits. I was assured this would not happen to anyone again.

5 stars is not enough to describe how impactful and amazing the care has been for our daughter. She had tried local IOP PHP and we didn’t see any change drive over 24 hrs from TX to Cali to get her admitted and would do it again. Game changer for our daughter she has her light back in her eyes.

I have been searching for support for my son for months now and after exhausting correspondences with 40+ treatment centers across the country, Doug at BNI treatment centers has been nothing short of a breath of fresh that has filled me with hope in this difficult process. Not only was he compassionate and understanding he was extremely knowledgeable and insightful. He also took the time to personally contact me to support us in navigating where would be the best fit for us whether it was with his program or elsewhere. He even gave me recommendations that saved so much time and provided clear direction and appropriate resources that have been invaluable. I went to Milestones Ranch (twice) to get off of Barbiturates. Denise and Savannah are both incredibly caring people and competent. They both go out of their way to help and even after 15 years they still are willing to keep in touch. I was detoxed witl in the actual rehab the first time and it went better than I thought it would sans the first few days. You get to use the phone at certain times and the houses are both very well stocked and nice. They offered equine therapy and music therapy which I personally didn't like but I guess it was nice they had it. They also drove us to AA or NA meetings almost every night. Privelages included shopping, coffee trips, beach trips, the usual high end Malibu rehab stuff. Staff were mostly excellent and caring with some exceptional stand outs whose names I wish I could remember.
The first time I was there I must say that things within the client base were crazy, but it wasn't the rehabs fault. In their defense they drug tested us and also set up aftercare (sober living), I just fell in with a crazy person who knew every drug that wouldn't pop on a standard panel test. I relapsed but didn't get caught (my 3 friends did get caught after using a certain substance) and eventually ended up getting 5 years of sobriety. I do attribute that to Milestones Ranch. That is the longest true sobriety I've ever had. I was able to work and be a productive member of society.
One thing they do (or used to do) was a free 10 day stay if you relapsed. I did end up relapsing and they actually took me in free of charge. I have to say, that's an uncommon thing in Malibu rehabs (I went to multiple) and I've never seen it before. The second time around I had to detox at a facility and than go to the actual rehab which was annoying but it was whatever. Second time around they had definitely learned from the first time I was there and there was no drama within the patients. Unfortunately my family did not support a longer stay than 10 days for my second time but I am very grateful that I had that 10 days and was treated like a regular client.
If you have the money or insurance I would recommend Milestones over most stereotypical high end Malibu rehabs, I found it to be much more effective. The only downside is the price, but you get what you pay for.

I am a former employee and current contractor at Milestones Ranch Malibu, having been Clinical Director in the past and presently working as a group therapist. But more to the point, I am a huge fan of Milestones. Owned and operated by the incredibly caring and talented social worker Denise Klein and her daughter Savannah Ganje, Milestones has provided in-depth assistance to clients and families for the past 20 plus years.
I have seen hundreds of clients benefit from the various evidence-based modalities utilized by the Milestones clinical staff including dynamic and CBT therapy, hypnotherapy, group therapy, addiction counseling and EMDR as well as adjunct services including psychiatry, sound bath, music therapy, and more.
In addition to myself, there are other long-time staff members including Celeste Racicot, Ron Borczon, and Joey Tabbanella. It’s always a positive sign when staff members sign on for the long haul – it shows that they love the family atmosphere, the good vibes, the sense of helping people in a program that is all about integrity, warmth and expert care.
Employees are supervised and trained by Denise, Savannah, Celeste and Amber to ensure that meals are prepared on time, paychecks delivered on time and that the facility sparkles and shines. Milestones is a fantastic training ground for those interested in working in the fields of psychology and/or recovery. I often say that after a stint at Milestones, every employee is ready to run their own rehab center! Employees who are dedicated, hardworking and client-centered flourish in the Milestones milieu.
But what makes Milestones stand out, and why I continue on with this amazing program is – notwithstanding the clinical knowledge and practice, or the amenities, food, and cozy rooms - is the setting. It’s a small facility, designed purposely to be intimate so as to give clients individualized attention on a beautiful Malibu ranch. Milestones is unique.
Oh, one last thing. Milestones is the kind of place where if you call admissions and they think you are not a fit for them or that there is a program more suited to your needs, they will never try to sell you or convince you to come to Milestones but instead give you referrals to other well-respected and effective programs. Now that’s integrity!

Approaching a subject as heavy as trauma and addiction, making a choice on where to go can be a bit daunting. I was assured by people close to me that work in that field that Milestones Ranch was the perfect place for me. Upon arrival I knew this to be true. The team of people Denise Klein (owner) and her daughter Savanah have assembled is incredible. From the therapists to the techs to even the house cleaning personnel allows for an environment of safety and vulnerability. My experience there was truly life changing. Even after leaving I still benefit from the feeling I am part of a family that supported me through one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do. I appreciate the wellness checks from everyone checking on my progress and reminders that I can always count on the people of this amazing place…. Would also be remiss to not mention the location is beautiful Tucked away in the hills of Malibu above Zuma Beach. Was able to find a peace and tranquility I have needed for a long time. I own a social service agency. We confidently refer patients to La Ventana for mental health and addiction disorders. The accommodations are lovely, however the focus is on the treatment. As it should be. We have had several patients that we have referred to this program who have done very well. The patients that we have referred to them have gone on to a lead a healthier, more productive life, and they are staying consistent with their recovery plan, or their mental health management plan. That is the goal: to help someone get stabilized and build a tool kit for managing their disease or disorder. What I have experienced in referring patients to them is that they are setting their patients up to be able to do these things quite successfully on their own once they leave their program.
Those of us who work in social services did not get into this work to become rich, we got into this work to help people. So we often measure our own success on the ability to help a patient thrive. We are grateful that we work with La Ventana because they absolutely help our patients Thrive!

There is a very diverse clientele at Pure Recovery. While the clients are mainly athletes, there are also clients that are in recovery for addiction, I being one of them. I enjoyed the group sessions, and they were very healing. My therapist, Pia, is a true gift, and I would recommend her for anyone healing from addiction. The staff was more like a family and they treated me very well. From the owner Deb to the administration, techs, and nursing staff, everybody was very accommodating to me. A shout out to the chefs, while being there almost thirty five days, every meal was delightful every time. I only wish I could stay longer, thank you Pure Recovery for My Success, I am well.

I have been a recovery advocate for former professional athletes for many years . Part of that job requires me to select treatment programs that are well suited for their often complex needs. Finding good programs that truly understand addiction/dual diagnosis issues that are often complicated by cognition and brain trauma issues was a nearly impossible. Then the NFL Alumni connected me to Pure Recovery California. The Pure Recovery programs , which are for everyone not just athletes are remarkable. Their approach to treating addiction as a brain disease and their advanced neuroscience programs are real game changers. The facility is beautiful and the expert medical team is outstanding. The results for the athletes that I personally know and work with that have been through the program are just amazing , life changing and lifesaving. I will continue to recommend Pure Recovery California and their outstanding programs to athletes and others who are in need of recovery programs.

Genesis has played a pivotal role in creating a safe and supportive environment for my sister to get the help she needed. Genesis is a great option for individuals who need an outpatient program to integrate into after residential treatment, if you’re struggling with alcohol/drug misuse, or you are substance dependent and would benefit from structure and accountability.
Their program uses best based practices and they do a great job at tailoring treatment plans to an individuals own unique and personal needs. The individual and group counseling were always super helpful and the staff truly want to see you succeed. They offer a friends and family night which was very critical in re establishing trust and ongoing support from those close to you in your life.
In addition, they have a strong after care community in which you are encouraged to be apart of after completing treatment.
If you have the pleasure of conversing with the owner Athena, be sure to pick her brain as she is very knowledgeable in the field of treatment and addiction. It is from my experience she is attentive and does an appreciable job at reflecting meaning within her conversations. Her superb counseling skills and expertise in the field really motivate her clients to find it within themselves to make positive steps towards change. She has helped me overcome a variety of struggles in life and has been instrumental in my ongoing journey.
Through out my time at Genesis, it is clear that Athena and her team are people who truly care about the individuals and families they serve and are dedicated to making the community a healthier and safer place.

Writing a review of a rehab center is not something I ever thought I'd be doing. However, when a family member was in need of treatment, my family and I were fortunate to have been able to turn to the team at Serenity.
The staff took tremendous care of my relative's needs, as well as the needs of our family. Dr. Shilati and her fantastic staff made us feel comfortable with the process and guided us every step of the way. We are forever grateful for their assistance at one of the hardest moments in our lives.

OMGOSH! Serenity Malibu literally saved my life!! I looked at a lot of treatment centers before choosing this one…then i made the call…a very nice man named Bruce answered the phone..he asked me a few ???'s about my resources then promised to call me back…he promptly called me back after calling my insurance co. and told me i was "good to go"…I was such a "hot mess"..addicted to alcohol, opiates and alcohol..and ambien to sleep…I was a walking time bomb..things weren't working for me any more..i was isolated using night and day..i bought my airline ticket one way and went straight to L.A…there was a gentleman at the gate waiting to transport me the 45 min. drive to the house..it was a very nice car, and driver..when i got to the house all the staff knew my name..and welcomed me with open arms..after a little paperwork i went to my "new house"..i went to serenity house…it was like a movie star would live in..big and lovely…lots of comfort foods, 24 hour care takers, a house keeper, a pool and hot tub too..its total luxury…i met a few new house mates..they taught me "the ropes" quickly..i was fearful that my detox would be uncomfortable..i meet the first nite with the doctor..he gave me meds. that i took for a few weeks to get me thru the "tough times"..I was very comfortable…i got my schedule..and started my healing from the get go…I went on beach walks, went to the movies,got my nails done, like "normal life", not a hospital setting!I had acupuncture, cranial sacral ,massage, yoga, and spiritual healing( very powerful stuff)! I learned a new way of life..and EVERYONE …well just about everyone there is in recovery also..I had the BEST month of my life..I dealt (thru therapists )with all my issues i was walking around with in my gut..I was able to learn what drove me to use and not feel my feelings..for once I feel free..This facility does offer 12 step programs if you are interested..and another program( Smart recovery) if you're not..for my recovery i find it is necessary to be in a 12 step program..today I'm 40 days SOBER..I can't say enough about Serenity/Seasons (their sister house)..I am home now..miss the gourmet meals, the good friends I made, and ALL the support i had while there..I have an exit plan in my pocket that is a guide how to live on the "outside" for me..they helped me fill up my "tool box"now I'm in charge of continuing what I've learned..my relationship with my family has been healing..I got another chance in life..at age 55 I felt beat down and tired of my 30+years of using..I feel blessed and willing..its not a "piece of cake" out here back in the "real world" but I'm living life on "life's terms" one day at a time..I would HIGHLY recommend Serenity/Seasons..Thank you to all the staff that taught me how to get outta my "rut"..I feel love in my heart..thanks to you all from the bottom of my heart..So give Bruce a call today..if you are "sick in tired,of being sick and tired"..he will tell you straight up what it takes to get there..I feel blessed that my insurance co. I have had three major depressive episodes in my life. Each episode was four to eight years apart. I run a large company in the Midwest and when the Beach House was recommend to me I must admit I was skeptical to say the least. The mere fact that this was also a treatment center for addiction gave me cause for pause. When I arrived at The Beach House I was at my lowest point in 12 years. The absolute miracles that occurred over my 30 days in program for depression and anxiety can not be described in this review. The total commitment to the healing process of body mind and spirit are beyond compare. Kimberly, Charlie, Art and Emily have built a team of professionals that are client focused and are invested in healing. The Beach House changed my life. Because of people like Morgan and Wendy who equipped me with a tool box full of tools for daily self care and a broad understanding of the biochemical aspects of depression and anxiety, I believe that major episodes are in my past. Every caregiver in The Beach House was committed to my recovery from Chris’ ride from the airport, to Jesse’s wit to Adam’s three mile runs. I will never forget my time with you. If every 51 year old man had an opportunity to come take a month and work on themselves with this team, the world would be a better place. God Bless you all.

Last year a client of mine had hit a very low point & I posted for help on a Facebook page related to treatment centers. I already knew a lot of places were not suitable for this specific situation. The owner saw my post & put three people on our case immediately. They even had someone go pick up my client's car all the way out in Hollywood & stored his car in a garage for us while he stayed on Broad Beach. You will not find a nicer place/nicer people anywhere in Malibu.
