I completed my treatment at Enlight Treatment Center a year ago, and it was a truly transformative experience. When I first arrived, I was dealing with the aftermath of a broken jaw and the emotional scars from being tortured at a fake detox center, which left me terrified to trust anyone. I cannot give enough praise to Rise in Malibu. My son was recently admitted for the 30 day alcoholism program. With great fear and hesitation he was soon talking with Allison in admissions. Her unbelievable patience, knowledge, unmatched kindness, and long phone calls, gave him the reassurance he needed to get on the plane.Upon arrival to LAX there was another team member waiting for him at the baggage carousel. He was a recovered alcoholic and really understood the hesitation being experienced by my son. How wonderful to have that real life encouragement, even before walking in the front door.Upon arrival he met all the wonderful staff that he appreciated were non judgmental, which was very important to him. Each staff member took time to really get to know him, so they could develop a personal treatment plan to meet his specific needs. He participated in group, individual and spiritual counseling. The painting activity uncovered a talent that he did not know he had. The group meals, activities, gym time and outings allowed positive and supportive friendships to develop.I visited about two weeks in and met most of the staff. Every person was as wonderful as he had said they were. It was then I learned that all the staff members have recovered from their own addiction. That explains their kind, understanding and unrelenting devotion to helping others.During my visit he showed me around and introduced me to the staff like they were all his family. He was proud of his progress and finally believing in recovery. I saw happiness in him for the first time in many years.He continues to reach out to team members when there is a bump in the road. Having that ability has truly kept him on the right path. He is now in sober living with sobriety a realistic outcome, for the first time in 20 years. I am forever grateful to Rise in Malibu!

An absolute gem!!The home is stunning with individual spacious rooms, infinity pool, and view of the ocean for starters. My experience with the admissions team of Lori and Berkeley was a great start as I did not, for one minute, feel pressured. The staff, comprised of Masters level and Doctorate clinicians provide the most comprehensive treatment this industry has to offer. The one on one attention you receive here is unbelievable. I had 90+ sessions in a 30 day stay. Golden Road Recovery is the place to go to, to start your new journey of recovery! It is by far one of the best places to go. This place along with the staff Really Care about your Recovery! It is special because your not just a number or a pay check. They really care about you and understand because most of them have been through their journey of recovery.They only take in a small amount of patients so you get the opportunities to speak one on one with counselors, therapists, instructors, the doctor and even a nutritionist. I don't have enough good to say about this team. They really helped my kids when we hit a rough spot. One even started with a strained relationship with food. After some time and help from the Hillcrest team things have really improved for our family.

My 12 year old son stayed at Beachside for two months in the spring and we brought home a changed child. After struggling with some significant trauma, the counselors that worked with my son were truly wonderful. The weekend activities were excellent including boating and trips to amusement parks. During the week, he learned to surf, completed his school curriculum so that he could graduate from his regular education elementary school, and took hikes at beautiful locations around Malibu. He loved the food, and participated in group and music therapy as well as individual counseling. We spoke on the phone most nights and had great weekend visits. My son is now a thriving 7th grader, enjoying school and close relationships with his friends. I would encourage anyone struggling to give your child the gift of this healing environment.

Our daughter had been prescribed a strong medication after she was hurt during gymnastics practice. We never expected it to lead to an addiction. We re so grateful to the staff of Beachside for helping her when we could not.

Anxiety has turned into such a buzzword as of late. Hearing it so often ended up desensitizing us to some issues our son was going through. I went here briefly from 2011 - 2012 & it saved me then. I unfortunately relapsed multiple times & went in & out of inpatient rehabs for years. In 2018 I decided to give Aegis another go. I am now coming up on SIX YEARS CLEAN in October thanks to this program helping to o keep my arse in line.

If you re committed to doing it the right way - you are going to wind up dealing with a lot of painful issues and hurts - and all without your substance of choice to numb the pain. But - you will be supported every step of the way. The staff is WONDERFUL and so genuinely happy for the progress you make. The other clients become your closest friends and there is nothing you can say there that will shock anyone. There is zero judgment, just support and kindness and encouragement. Even post discharge they have weekly in person and online alumni groups which are fantastic and the facilitators of those groups genuinely care. Other than becoming a mom, Passages is the best thing that ever happened to me. I m forever grateful.

I highly recommend Avalon if you are seeking treatment for either or both addiction or mental health treatment. I personally had a long struggle with addiction, depression and anxiety. The services and treatment they provided allowed me to heal in what I felt was a safe and comfortable space. All the staff from the RAs to the clinicians to the doctors and even the maids were so welcoming and I believe truly had my best interest in heart. Not only have I noticed this for myself but also with my peers who stayed at Avalon during my time as well. My daughter, was a resident of Oak Forest Recovery. We're both Hawaii residents. She flew up there last year in mid 2023 and received detox treatments and then resided towards the fall at Oak Forest. As a praying mom and being directed by God, my daughter truly was at the right sober living home to receive an in depth living structured rehabilitation therapy. Jenna was her manager of the household there. And a stand in mom for me. She was not only very professional, competent, self assuring and efficient in her duties, but empathetic, caring, understanding and patient. Those exemplary qualities is needed to set the tone for the entire household, the techs, assistants, housekeeping, and the residents. I was regularly in touch with my daughter as well as staff to ensure her progress and well being. The place was huge, many rooms, bathrooms, and necessary spaces. They had strict schedules to adhere to, but not burdensome. Pet friendly. They were encouraged to be responsible and progress on their 12 steps. She always had meetings to go to and sometimes special guests to advance their therapy through exercises from professional counselors that included family members to get involved. Paying out of pocket was difficult, but their willingness to work with us was much appreciated. Their care and concern felt genuine. My daughter left there late Jan of 2024. So approx 5 months she was living there and returned back home to Hawaii. She's about a year and half sober. She continued meetings here in Hawaii and a couple months from returning home, she started work. Her work was also continued therapy for her and she's still working at the same place about 9 months later. As a result from the residential rehabilitative care at Oak Forest Recovery in California, which is where she spent the majority of her time at, she has demonstrated her new found confidence, clearer conscious, loving herself, loving others, forgiving herself, forgiving others. Becoming selfless, instead of her old selfish ways, and now being attentive to other peoples needs and trying to make other peoples lives better. My daughter DID a complete 180 degree turn. She now gives me money and pays for whatever she's able to pay for regarding household and vehicle expenses. Her old unhealthy relationships are discontinued. Now completely family oriented and involved with our activities. Now stronger, found her voice, genuine laughter and an excitement for life. Her desire to pray and follow God thru obedience to Him and believing in Jesus Christ as her savior has brought her to where she is now. My miracle daughter and living testimony. She'll be sharing her experiences to many others going through their addictions, that there is HOPE and Oak Forest Recovery played a big part in it. First, thank you for the life I have today. I have become open about my story of recovery, in that through surgeries, loss of loved ones, and isolation in Covid... I fell victim of my traumas. Here are some areas where TPM excelled: World class staff (from therapists to Resident Advisors), delicious and healthy food, beautiful and clean facilities, fun and engaging groups and excursions, the list really could go on.I chose TPM for their chronic pain program after being house bound with chronic pain and illness for 7 years, since age 14. I was in a car accident 30 years ago and severed my foot broke my back and was in the ICU for 24 days. I spent years having reconstructive surgeries and hours of physical therapy. As I got older they put me on a pain cocktail which I stayed on for seventeen years.I was in and out of a wheelchair and walked with a cane. I never thought that I would have any sort of quality of life. I m living a life now where I can travel and watch my grandchildren. I even got a dog that I take on walks without a cane. I do Pilates and yoga and feel better than I have in decades. The pain recovery program was ground breaking for me, The team of doctor s Dr. Mel and Dr. Les and therapist s Christiana and Morgan are AMAZING . The food and accommodations were 5 star. The attention to your individuality was impressive. What they do can not be beat by any other program out there. All the staff took a real interest in my well being with genuine concern. My son had a great experience here. The team is stellar and treated him like he was their own family. We had a few rough days and they were amazing with keeping me in the loop and making sure to carry out my wishes. He was diagnosed within the first month of what his mental health issues were and they treated him according to what they thought was best for him. They gave us a lot of materials for us to educate us about his disorder, and educated him on what it meant and how to move forward.
