There are moments in life when words fall short, but I’ll try. The Rise at Malibu didn’t just support me they saved me. In one of the darkest chapters of my life, they extended a hand that pulled me back into the light. Their compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment were more than professional they were profoundly human.
I owe my life to the care, patience, and strength they showed me. Every step of the way, they treated me not as a case, but as a person worth fighting for. That kind of impact doesn’t fade it stays with you, reshaping how you see yourself and the world.
I want to begin by saying that The Rise in Malibu is far more than just a treatment facility it’s a sanctuary for healing, transformation, and rediscovery. After extensive research, I felt confident in my decision before I even arrived. Now, as I prepare to leave, I can say with absolute certainty: I made the right choice. I’m walking away with the reset I desperately needed, armed with tools, a solid plan, and a renewed sense of purpose.
What drew me to The Rise in Malibu was their deep commitment to mental health and trauma recovery the very roots of my struggle. From the moment I made that first call, I wasn’t just another intake. Ron spoke to me with warmth and clarity, painting a picture of the care I’d receive and the space I’d call home. He gave me hope when I was falling apart. Then Allison stepped in, answering every message, listening to my tears, and making sure I had everything I needed to get to Malibu. Angie welcomed me with open arms, her radiant smile and vibrant energy instantly making me feel safe and seen. She tailored my experience with such care that I always felt supported and comfortable.
The program itself is exceptional comprehensive and deeply personal. From licensed psychotherapists and medical doctors to psychiatrists, nurses, holistic therapies, case management, personal training, and even a private chef, every detail is designed to nurture healing in body, mind, and spirit.
To anyone considering The Rise in Malibu this place doesn’t just treat addiction it treats the person behind it. They saved my life. I recommend them with every ounce of gratitude in my heart.

I want to share my experience at Rise Malibu. I started 2 months ago for a 30 day inpatient treatment. In one word I would describe my experience as AMAZING!!
I have been to other facilities before but this experience is life changing. Its still early in my recovery, (60 days so far) so I can't speak long term yet. My main therapist Dr Mark was incredible, and had approaches to sobriety that I had never heard of before. Terry, Michael, Cat, Gina, Tim and were all awesome therapists with differing methods of treating addiction. Not just AA which was enlightening to me. As a holistic sceptic, I was very surprised at how it helped me, especially the breathing techniques. I will utilize the breathing and yoga techniques the rest of my life. The support people at the facility John and Nam were great. Offering walks and hikes all the time as well as the Sunday outing. Especially enjoyed just talking about life with John who is a wonderful person and family man. The nurses Paige, Sherri and Zach were awesome to talk to and took very good care of me. The Chef Bryce is a 5 star chef who could work at the best restaurants. The food was great. The facility is beautiful with views of the ocean from every room and a pool on top floor where I stayed.
Ron, the owner is a great guy and he really does care. That's why he does this. I talked to him for an hour on my first call to Rise and he actually answers the phone himself every time I called the number. Again, it's his passion to help people. The staff started talking about an aftercare plan 10 days after I joined the facility and I had a fully set up aftercare plan complete before I even came home.
I very much look forward to writing back again in 6 months as I continue my recovery.
In summary I don't think you can find a better place. I felt my like I was in a protective bubble the entire time with people who really cared about me.
If you need help call Rise.

Rise has saved my life on numerous occasions! The staff alone is super amazing that they have become my family. I cannot speak highly of all the times I have been through Rise. The peaceful ocean setting , the warm pool, the delicious meals, the wonderful group therapies, the wonderful group outings, comfortable room accommodations (and very private!!) make the whole experience absolutely wonderful and such a blessing. Will forever be blessed by Rise and the wonderful people there that make it so special and fabulous. The staff, Including Christina , Angie, Gina , Dr Mark, Sharie, Paul W, John, Paige , Nam , Bryce, Beth, and many more have been more than wonderful to me during some of the most difficult times of my life.

Enlight Treatment Center is a dual-diagnosis behavioral health and addiction treatment center in Moorpark, California. Focusing on the treatment of adults, they provide counseling, detox, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and aftercare. Mental Health Assessment and Counseling These assessments evaluate the client’s mental health for the presen | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Where do I even begin? My time at Enlight was nothing short of extraordinary. I arrived to this treatment center during one of the lowest points of my life. I was living out of my hammock on the border of Los Padres National Forest, deciding that I would exile myself from the pleasantries of having any friends or continuing to be a member of my family. After 3 months of living in the bush, I decided to go get help. In the 80 days that I was at Enlight, I started the 12 Steps, I picked up my first sponsor, and most importantly, I found myself again. After years of suffering with a clouded conscience and minimial self-confidence, the staff here helped me regain my sense of belonging and made me feel proud of who I am. Chef Carlito went from being the guy who prepared all the meals 6 days a week to being a true friend to me. Mish and Will consistently made sure that I was comfortable during my time at the facility, and also ensured that my after-care plans were the best they could offer. The entire IMS team; Chase, Charles, West, Atom, Anna, and Chris always offered their friendship and conversation no matter the time of day. The clinical staff; Yayé, Narine, Karen, Kristen, and Jen helped me examine my deficiencies that I developed while in active addiction so that I could work to rebuild, and find my true sense of self once more. Lastly, thank you to Dr. Albert and Vahe for allowing me the opportunity to show my true character under a supreme level of care. Enlight truly saved my life, and I will be forever indebted to this great organization.

A close friend of my mine was battling with years of alcohol addiction. We had taken him to multiple detox centers here in New Jersey where we live but nothing would really change in his behavior. He would maintain a few weeks of sobriety but would always end up back to the bottle. Finally we found Enlight Treatment Center after a few psychiatrists here in New Jersey had recommended we come out to california to get our friend the help that he needs. Its been about two years since he completed the program at Enlight and we never thought he would be where he is today. 2 years sober with a healthy family life. Man, cant thank Enlight enough for the work that they have done for us, my friend and his family. If youre looking for a detox facility, dont waste time looking elsewhere. Dr. Alber and Dr. Gevorkian are working magic here. God bless the work you guys do. I would recommend this program to anyone who is struggling with addiction or mental health 100/10 times

Elevation Behavioral Health is a luxury drug and alcohol rehab in Agoura Hills, California. They provide residential dual-diagnosis treatment and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). The residential treatment program not only treats the diagnosis but also the underlying causes of addiction and mental health issues. Clients receive a variety of th | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My stay at Elevation.
I was in a pretty rough place and needed to get some intensive support. I found Elevation while researching and what drew to me to them vs other places I saw was;
* Private Room. I had to be honest with myself that this was something important to me, to have my own space.
* Daily Individual Therapy. In addition to group having daily individual therapy to help work through things and make the most of the time there.
* Electronic Devices Allowed. I have two young kids and I wanted to be able to stay in contact with family as well as use my laptop to research and view content related to what I was working through.
After filling out the form on the website Stephanie the admissions director reached out right away. Before she walked me through more details about the program she checked in to make sure I was ok, I felt supported already. She helped answer all my questions as well as get the information she needed to verify insurance coverage and what I would have to pay out of pocket. She got back to me quickly again and we figured out an admission date.
When I arrived in Los Angeles I was picked up at the airport and driven to their Calabasas house.
I won’t go into too many details about the house, it’s pretty fantastic and there are picture on the website.
I was greeted upon arrival, checked in, given a tour, and sometime to settle in my room.
Everyone in the house from the cleaner, chef, coaches, therapists, and psychiatrist are supportive and genuinely interested in making you comfortable and ready for doing the personal work you need.
There is a wonderful variety of therapies from individual, group, equine, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, nature walks, pool/jacuzzi, art, and music which all come at your problems from different angles and build on each other. The coaches are always available and engaged between sessions to keep the momentum going and support you.
Having daily individual therapy plus two groups daily helped me dive deep into the underlying issues I was facing and my progress built on itself everyday. I felt like I was making a months progress every week. My therapist Chad was just what I needed, he was thoughtful, creative and pushed when needed to help me go further.
I arrived in a very low state (not my usual self) and was able to quickly let go and unravel, the staff and my fellow patients helped put me back together and create sustainable coping techniques and strategies so I could return home a new person.
Having house-mates was a wonderful experience, even though we all came from very different walks of life and reasons for coming, we found deep common ground and support with each other. We laughed, and cried, and laughed again together.
The center of a house is the kitchen, and at Elevation this was no exception. Chef Jerry and Josh not only made amazing and healthy food, they were open to having us join the process and learn how to cook. We spent most of our afternoons between sessions joining in on the cooking process. Chef Jerry was like another therapist who gave us amazing life advice and was always open to listen to use when we needed a little support. Everyone at elevation from the cleaner to the coaches and the patients all eat the same food together. It felt like a big family.
I felt that when I needed alone time and privacy or wanted to do something social I could move between those modalities anytime. I never felt pressure to join in anything, just welcomed.
I left elevation feeling like a new person, equipped with new skills and strategies to thrive at home and at work. I highly recommend Elevation.

⭐ Hands Down the Best Mental Health Program Available.
I can’t say enough good things about Elevations Behavioral Health. It’s hands down the best mental health care I’ve ever received. The setting is incredible — beautiful houses, exercise equipment, pools, jacuzzis, and so many community resources. They will take you on outings to the Pacific Ocean to watch sunsets — and yes, you *will* see dolphins!
From the residential program to the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), every detail is thought about and the staff are always there to help.
The Santa Monica Mountains surround you, and the views are so breathtaking you can sit for hours just taking it all in, meditating, and really feel yourself start to heal.
The food is amazing too — they have private chefs who customize meals to fit your diet and treatment needs, with tons of healthy options.
Unlike most residential treatment programs, you get both individual and group therapy *every day*. That’s really unheard of in a residential program — usually you would receive one or two individual sessions a week
The staff and therapists are absolutely amazing — they genuinely care and don’t let you give up on yourself. I cant name them all because I would forget someone. Too many to count; dedicated and MOre than experts at what they do!
If you’re struggling, please know you’re not alone. Getting help is the best thing you can do for yourself. Elevations changed my life, and it can change yours too. You *are* worth it, and you *can* do hard things. Take the first step — it’s so worth it.

Elevations residential mental health treatment is exceptional. Look no further if you want to receive the best residential mental health care available in the most beautiful setting. You receive daily groups and individual therapy, which is rare in residential mental health treatment in my experience. I recently received residential at Elevations in Calabasas, CA. (Nov. 2024) I felt safe and cared for. Dr. Chaudhri cares deeply about the programs and getting things right. The dedicated technicians make sure that you are always safe and your needs are met. The therapists are dedicated and exceptional in their treatment of complex mental health diagnoses (BiPolar, depression, PTSD, OCD, anxiety.) The psychiatrist is one of the best I've ever had. The services I received and I encourage people to get are: EMDR, Nuerofeedback, massage, life coaching, nutrition consultation, meditation, acupuncture, and yoga. Make them part of your treatment if you can. The journey is hard work but being in such a beautiful place with highly qualified and compassionate people makes it easier. Always advocate for yourself and you will get what you need. I know no matter what I may need in the future Elevations Behavioral Health will be there. Thank you Elevations for changing and supporting my life. I am forever grateful. (Insurance and private pay only.) NOTE: the environment can get quite loud and bright so if you have PTSD or other sensory issues make sure to address it early with the organization or you may suffer from the sensory overload. Bring noise cancelling headphones and sunglasses to wear inside if this is a problem for you.

I had no idea what to expect when I arrived. I came from a scandal, a storm, a situation so shocking that simply stepping onto the grounds felt like reprieve. Anything was better than where I had been. The first days blurred into each other as they always do and then thirty more slipped by like champagne bubbles bursting in a glass.
What I know for certain is this: I emerged different. Elevated. Refined. Better. I grew. And with Kam and Amaris at my side, they grew as well because proximity to me tends to do that.
When I left, I slipped into the backseat of an Uber. The radio crackled to life, and Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On” began. A cliché? Perhaps. But sometimes the universe sends clichés because they’re true. If that isn’t a benediction, then what is?
Would I have preferred fewer sun salutations and more imagination? Yes. Less yoga, shorter classes, and perhaps Rock to Recovery or an art session something tangible to carry home, a relic of transformation. Then again, I could have painted something myself, couldn’t I? In the end, what mattered was rhythm: seven days of classes, steady as a drumbeat, reinforcing muscle memory, re-teaching me the cadence of being alive. Sober, no champagne in hand ever again. But an arms length away.

I liked Summit cause the house was actually pretty, food way better than most places I’ve been, and groups weren’t boring. Learned a lot, got some real education that stuck. Meetings were optional which I liked, they don’t shove AA down your throat. Even saw the actual owner hanging with clients which you don’t see much.
Groups could’ve been shorter and maybe more variety but whatever, not a dealbreaker. Some clients came in that didn’t really fit but staff handled it quick. My therapist was solid, just wish I got more time with her.
Overall not perfect, but better than most and I left with more than I came in with

My 12 year old son stayed at Beachside for two months in the spring and we brought home a changed child. After struggling with some significant trauma, the counselors that worked with my son were truly wonderful. The weekend activities were excellent including boating and trips to amusement parks. During the week, he learned to surf, completed his school curriculum so that he could graduate from his regular education elementary school, and took hikes at beautiful locations around Malibu. He loved the food, and participated in group and music therapy as well as individual counseling. We spoke on the phone most nights and had great weekend visits. I highly recommend Avalon if you are seeking treatment for either or both addiction or mental health treatment. I personally had a long struggle with addiction, depression and anxiety. The services and treatment they provided allowed me to heal in what I felt was a safe and comfortable space. All the staff from the RAs to the clinicians to the doctors and even the maids were so welcoming and I believe truly had my best interest in heart. Not only have I noticed this for myself but also with my peers who stayed at Avalon during my time as well. I have seen them treat some cases that were extremely difficult and they did so with precision and care and I was able to witness these people that on some level I thought were hopeless actual heal, get stabilized and come out the other side. I personally am one of these individuals as well and I am forever grateful for the help Avalon offered me.

Evolve Treatment Centers for Teens is a drug and alcohol rehab in Agoura Hills, California. They provide residential addiction treatment and mental health care for teens. Evidence-Based, Individualized Care Our treatment model is rooted in proven, evidence-based approaches, with a strong emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive | Treatments Programs Payment Options | The academic coordinator, Maya is very passionate about her work and goes above and beyond to aid her students in not only reaching their academic goals but exceeding them in a kind, respectful manner. She consistently helps students in an empathetic manner, but does not complete assignments for them. She is very open and understands troubles students may be facing and helps them cope while not letting them fall behind on their studies. For me, she spent hours through IT to help me in completing college orientation prerequisites and kept in contact with my family to make things clear and easily understandable. She also helps her students complete resumes, TODO lists, and understand requirements for important events in life such as acquiring a drivers permit. RTC is not the best option for SUDs but it can act as a detox center. Without Maya, I may have fallen behind on my academic ventures and not have gotten much out of this RTC. Most staff are very understanding and helpful, but can only help so much when it comes to SUDs.

This facility has played an integral role in my son’s recovery. The staff went above and beyond throughout his care. My son’s therapist, Leah, was the most integral part of his treatment. She was able to see what previous therapists have missed.
The facility itself is beautiful and offers great therapies. I highly recommend this location if you are on the fence about trusting a facility with your child.

My child ended up getting involuntarily discharged and I'm still giving Evolve a 5 star rating because they were fantastic throughout the 30 day stay.
Admissions helped us through the entire process over a weekend when my child was kicked out elsewhere.
Facility was great.
Staff from Management to therapists were all kind and very caring. Where Paradigm (Malibu) felt much more corporate, Evolve treated my daughter with so much compassioin, even through the discharge process. The therapist were even crying at discharge, and more telling, my child really wanted to go back after the episode passed.
Medical staff tried much harder than elsewhere to find the secret sauce to help my kiddo.
Good news, we did eventually find a med (at home) that helped a TON and we're mostly under control now. I'm sure Evolve made a big difference in this process.
If you are a parent with a troubled teen, hang in there! Feels impossible some days, but I highly recommend the Evolve team.
Thank you Clara, Leah, Anna,, Allexis & Dellyna!

The team is stellar and treated him like he was their own family. We had a few rough days and they were amazing with keeping me in the loop and making sure to carry out my wishes. He was diagnosed within the first month of what his mental health issues were and they treated him according to what they thought was best for him. They gave us a lot of materials for us to educate us about his disorder, and educated him on what it meant and how to move forward.

We had a truly positive experience with Evolve Teen Treatment in Ojai, CA for our 13/14-year-old daughter. The location is beautiful, right near downtown Ojai, and the environment felt very welcoming from the moment we arrived.
Our daughter struggles with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and challenging behaviors. At Evolve, she was finally able to find her voice. With the support of the incredible staff and therapists, she learned how to better understand her mental health and, for the first time, could articulate what she was feeling.
Evolve kept her engaged every day with a full schedule of therapy and activities like hiking, surfing, yoga, working out, and healthy meals, which helped her get strong both mentally and physically. She stayed for three months the first time and two months the second time (not typical, but necessary in her case). Coming home was hard, but the setbacks were due more to outside influences than the program itself.
What stood out most was the level of care and dedication from the staff and therapists. They weren’t just there for her, but for our whole family. The family sessions were incredibly helpful in teaching us how to best support her. We learned that it’s not about perfection but about progress and resilience, even when things don’t go as planned.
We were in a place of deep hopelessness before finding Evolve, but the program was truly a godsend. It not only helped our daughter, but also gave us the tools to keep growing as a family. A friend recommended Evolve to us, and now we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with a teen going through hard times. We are forever grateful.

Iris Healing Retreat saved my life. Before going to Iris I had never managed to stay sober. I used for 13 long years. Iris was a safe, joyful, informed, comfortable facility where I was able to begin cultivating my recovery journey. Once I left I was able to begin working with a sponsor, I worked the steps, and today I’m 5 years sober. I was so inspired by Iris I went back to school to become a therapist myself and I now too work helping addicts recover. Thank you Iris Healing Retreat for helping me get a second chance at a beautiful life.

They provide sober living homes and outpatient services. Located in Agoura Hills, California, Oak Forest Recovery provides alcohol and drug rehab services and dual diagnosis tre | Programs Payment Options | As a professional in the addiction treatment space I have worked hand in hand with programs literally all over the world. Oak Forest Recovery is my most trusted resource. I have witnessed hundreds of individuals and their loved ones find freedom through this program. RJ is the only owner and founder I know that is as invested into the outcomes of treatment as he is. The clinical team is next level. Truly they don’t miss a beat, they are highly skilled and I would trust them with my own child any day. With that said let me tell you what is truly special about Oak Forest… it’s the structure, culture and COMMUNITY.. that’s what holds this all together.. a bunch of excited for sobriety/life young people who are holding each other accountable and to a higher standard while having fun. If you or your loved one has failed in other treatment settings, if they have failed to launch after being given every opportunity possible, if they literally won’t stop using no matter what you’ve done to help them, if they need life skills.. this is the place to be. I can’t stress that enough..
P.S. Oak Forest has the best family program.. addiction affects everyone involved and YOU deserve healing, support and education!

I’ve been to luxury treatment centers but Oak Forest is the only place that’s worked for me. It’s a no-nonsense step-based recovery that gave me the tools I needed to sit in my discomfort. The camaraderie you achieve with fellow alcoholics won’t be found elsewhere. The staff is all licensed and the best in the business (most if not all are actually in recovery themselves).. Don’t do drugs, but if you do and you want to be one-and-done with treatment, Oak Forest is your best bet.

I spent most of My early 20s in jail and rehab until I came to Oak Forest they equipped me with the tools to live a successful life in recovery. They were very upfront with me and told me if I did not change 100% of everything in my life I probably wasn’t going to have a very long life expectancy!! They told me things I did not want to hear that most places won’t tell you because most places don’t care if you come back seven times but Oak Forest they wanna see you once and succeed after that. Thank you so much, Oak Forest Recovery

This place changed and SAVED my life. It gave me a safe space to heal and provided trustworthy caregivers, doctors and therapists to give me guidance into sobriety and emotional healing. I am 4 months and 24 days clean from drugs and alcohol and I would recommend The Pointe to everyone and anyone. Your loved one or yourself will be taken care of here and it’s so worth it. I have been to other treatment centers in my first bout of trying to get sober in 2020 and The Pointe goes above and beyond. I’m at a completely different mindset and although getting sober is hard work, I truly think The Pointe not only is a beautiful and sacred place to get sober in but every single person went above and beyond to care about me and teach me so many tools to have the open and sober mindset I have now. I am SO incredibly grateful for every person at the Pointe and the three months I spent there. My life is now in a place I didn’t even know was possible. I get emotional just thinking about how much I love and am grateful for The Pointe and it’s employees. World class. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart !!!
