About Altitude Recovery Community

Altitude Recovery Community is a residential alcohol and drug treatment center in Camarillo, California. Care is individualized, evidence based and trauma informed, including dual diagnosis care for co-occurring mental health conditions.

They work with most major PPO and POS insurance plans, and most insured clients have little or no out of pocket costs for treatment. I noticed that they currently do not accept Medicare, Medicaid or Medi-Cal.

Safe Withdrawal Management

They offer supervised medication assisted detox here and support those withdrawing from opioids, heroin, benzodiazepines and alcohol. Detox typically lasts 7 to 10 days, and clients move on to their residential inpatient treatment after detox.

Mind and Body Healing

Traditional therapies like CBT and DBT are offered alongside holistic methods like mindfulness, yoga, fitness and sound healing. Experiential outings like beach trips, hiking and museum visits are integrated into treatment too.

Building Peer Connections

Altitude also provides aftercare planning to help you maintain sobriety after leaving the facility. I think it’s helpful that their program emphasizes community and connection as an important part of recovery, and helps you build supportive relationships with peers.

Luxury Amenities

Luxury amenities include chef prepared meals, two outdoor pools, private workspaces and outdoor gardens. Clients stay in semi private or private rooms with en suite bathrooms and TVs in every room.

Thanks for sharing this. It means a lot to hear that you felt supported during your time with us. The holidays can be a tough stretch to get through when life feels heavy, and choosing to step into treatment instead of trying to muscle through it alone takes real courage. We’re glad Altitude gave you a place to steady yourself and reconnect before heading into the season with family. Grateful you spent part of your journey here and wishing you all the best moving forward.

I think I made it hard on the staff at altitude recovery but when I was done fighting against myself I’d like to say a lightbulb went off I’ve been through many treatments programs but the staff never gave up on me even though I did everything in my power to go against that when I finally saw the opportunity to save myself as someone thier told me I made sorry an actions word I’m not perfect and still have my deepest traumas to face but I want to thank altitude from the people in administration to the program director and the staff that ran group their was constant help from everyone and the chef is amazing it was easy to get my disability handled and I even got to have my service dog with me as of today I’m still clean and altitude recovery had so many things to make me feel better from yoga to sound baths a personal trainer. They took me to meetings and outings like the movies I have to say if you want another chance to be the best person you deserve to be give urself a chance treatment is not recovery but altitude did remind me I have the tools and the opportunity to save myself if I just keep going the next indicated step now don’t think I’m trying to sell u some dirty socks because I’m not and if ur thinking of giving up we’ll go to google and find the nearest bridge but if u want to give ur self a chance hit this place up and u might just find ur chance the world don’t owe us shit and I came in with a poor attitude and honestly I was ready to pull the trigger but the staff never gave up on me and I’m still clean today, today is a new challenge but altitude thought me I don’t have to reset my clean date just myself one minute at a time. I would like to say thank you, and I’m not the type write reviews but honestly they definitely deserve it.

Thank you for sharing this — your words really mean something to our whole team. It takes a lot of courage to be that honest about your journey, and even more to keep showing up for yourself the way you have. We know the process isn’t easy, and we’re grateful you trusted us enough to let us walk alongside you through the hard parts. Hearing that you’re still clean and using the tools you gained here makes every bit of the work worth it. Keep taking it one minute at a time — we’re proud of you and always here if you need support.

From psychosis to finding a purpose in life, altitude was there to support me in every way possible. The program director went above and beyond to make sure it felt comfortable and that i recieved the emotional support that I needed... I came in feeling alone and I grew my recovery so much while staying that I didnt want to leave. All of staff made me feel like we've been close friends for years.... at that time I didnt know it but it was exactly what I needed to start my new life in recovery.... there's not a word that describes how thankful I am for this program..... they saved my life<3

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Altitude Recovery Community works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financing your treatment can make treatment more accessible. You'll work with your care provider to set up payment plans, including interest rates and repayment timelines. Financing options vary widely and not all programs offer them, so be sure to get the full details before enrolling in treatment. If you have insurance or other benefits, financing may help you cover your remaining out of pocket expenses.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Programs

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.
