Helpful Amenities to Support Your Healing

A Carefully Planned Inpatient Rehab Program

Before beginning inpatient rehab, most clients will start off their treatment undergoing detox. Completing this part of recovery will allow you to focus more on the information you learn in individual and group therapy. Doctors will make sure your symptoms are managed through different therapies and medications.

Your time receiving residential treatment services may last anywhere between 28 days and up to six months. You’ll work with counselors and psychiatrists to understand the cause of your addiction and develop strategies that can help prevent you from relapsing.

Aftercare Treatment To Maintain Sobriety

The staff starts putting together your aftercare plan as you begin treatment so you can be set up for success. The services that will be available to you in the aftercare program include outpatient treatment, peer support groups, and access to a sober living home.

Golden Road Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants engaged in 12 step programs receive intensive peer coaching (sponsorship) and community support. Spiritual development as a means of achieving psychological and emotional healing and growth is the cornerstone of 12 step recovery, but religious affiliations are not required. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public, though specialized formats are available, including groups for seniors, teens, and family members. Evening, night, and day meetings are conducted year-round in most communities.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
When an individual is in denial about their substance use disorder, their loved ones may organize a drug intervention in California. This effort involves gently but assertively confronting the individual about their substance use and sharing how it has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist may also attend this gathering. Their expertise with intervention services can prove helpful in guiding the conversation to a positive result.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

The goal of creative arts therapy in California is to encourage growth and transformation. It can be used in individual and group settings with both children and adults. Options include movement, music, and painting.

The use of experiential therapy can be helpful for the treatment of behavioral disorders, including drug and alcohol addiction. This method teaches you how to release negative emotions and cope with pain from the past. Activities such as art, music, and animal care are used to facilitate this process.

I’m writing this review on behalf of my loved one who attended Golden Road Recovery. Of course when attending any new treatment center there will always be worries and nerves, but I can confidently say the staff at GRR made the transition as comfortable as possible. They made my loved one feel like family. The goal was to help patients detox, while keeping them busy on a daily routine. I’ve seen only two negative reviews on here but I must say after our experience I can guarantee those were not truthful reviews. Every single staff member will go out of their way to make sure they help you as best as they can to give you the best odds at a successful recovery. Thank you to Jason, Kristie, Nick, Nikki, Brittany, Damaris and the whole team. You’re all wonderful people doing amazing work. <3

If you're suffering from addiction, come to Golden Road... It'll change your life. They saved mine. I lost my career, my identity, my sense of self, my purpose when I found out I had to stop working with horses because I needed a spine surgery on my neck. I began a vicious cycle of drinking. First, drinking on weekends, then weekends and mid week. Later every few days. Ultimately, my despair, loneliness, hopelessness, and severe depression lead to me losing a week of my life to a rolling blackout drunk... When I got to the last half bottle, I decided once it was gone I was done drinking and I was putting myself in rehab. I wasn't coming home until I felt better. I had tried to quit and failed repeatedly over the years, tried cutting back the amount to control the blackouts, tried having others serve me to control my drinking. The worst part was, the more I tried controlling it, the worse my flashbacks, nightmares, PTSD and depression got. So the more I drank. I began Door Dashing the alcohol late at night so no one would know I had more, I also began paying cash for alcohol so no one would see how often I was going to the liquor store. It was cheap and legal and readily available. I called all over my area to find a detox center and rehab that accepted my insurance when I came across Golden Road Recovery. I began chatting with someone to see if they accepted my Tricare for Life insurance and they gave me a number to call and verify. I reached Jason. Jason was so caring and quick to offer help. He gave me a direct# and began to verify my insurance. Within minutes, he called me back and said in fact they do accept Tricare for Life/Tricare West for retired military and their families. Jason made me feel like I was the only person in the world that he was helping. The next day I flew out to LA from Kansas City, MO. After arriving to Golden Road I met Jason, only to discover he actually runs Golden Road, and is a very busy man. I was absolutely astonished as I was treated like the most important person on the planet. I was molested by a 19 year old neighbor beginning at the age of 2 years old, raised by a very violently abusive alcoholic Preacher father, raped at 14 years, and so on. I needed help, so I asked to stay for 45 days instead of the 30 days. The treatments, the therapy, Dr. Thomas, Chef Eric, and all the staff members are amazing. The therapy works, and the people really do genuinely care. The rooms/house is beautiful. If you're in need of help recovering from addiction, please do come to Golden Road Recovery. It'll save your life.

I came all the way from Wisconsin to Golden Road, frightened and alone. This facility took me in with open and welcoming arms. A great place the find recovery. Amazing food and amenities. All the staff cares so much for what they do and make it a comfortable and wonderful place to choose to begin sobriety. I got way more out of it than I was expecting and learned so much along the way.

Amazing place. You would think that it's like a traditional, old fashioned rehab, but this place is very modern and high-quality. Jason and the staff were more that helping and were fully supportive. Definitely would recommend it to everyone looking for a place to get help.

QUESTIANOBLE MEDUCAL BILLING PRACTICE!!! I'd be happy to post the questionable authorization form if requested During my stay at the Golden Road recovery Center my experience was one that left a bad taste in my mouth. Most of us know that these places can be pretty expensive and stand to benefit monetarily to such a large degree that there have been laws in place in California in order to prevent some of the loopholes that make this more about money grabs than about the addict themselves. In my case Golden Road recovery admitted to me that they have an exclusive business relationship to Well Pharma Pharmacy (Chatsworth CA) I was prescribed to host of medications that were in hindsight unnecessary and had me feeling all kinds of foggy brained and overall kept me feeling sick. Administering the drugs was inconsistent and poorly monitored by the unimpressive staff of former addicts. Furthermore, a completely ambiguous and vague credit card verification form is used in order to allow Golden Road recovery and well Forma to do business charging expensive medications with a blank check. My recovering addicts are busy dealing with withdrawals it was my experience that in talking to other patrons that they were unaware of the excessive charges being ran up and Justified via this completely unprofessional credit card authorization form that both the recovery center and well Pharma (Chatsworth CA) are ok with. This is unethical irresponsible and questions at the very least why they have an exclusive relationship with one Pharmacy that allows such a arbitrary and nonspecific agreement for payments and future prescriptions. This type of ambiguous charging system takes advantage of a addict that is completely consumed with detoxing it makes it way too easy for their on staff doctor to be in financial Cahoots with a pharmacy and the recovery center director, there is no reason why they should risk looking this bad if they were trying to be honest about it and transparent. When I called them out on these extra charges they quickly agreed that they would refund me the money, but they're already approaching 2 weeks and yet no refund, something that could be handled extremely quickly.

Our son required the services of a solid organization with caring staff members. Jason and his team came through on all accounts! The location lends itself to peace and serenity while in recovery, with trees and flowers everywhere, a nice back patio, and even pool/BBQ area, gym equipment, and a pool table for residents. Jason worked with us to take care of the financial details for Golden Road as well as the follow-on care, and we're very happy with the outcome so far. This being our 2nd go-around, we can honestly say that the care and attention paid here went above and beyond what we experienced in the past. Thanks Jason and Team for helping with our son's situation and giving us some hope for what the future has in store!
