Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

In California, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs offer comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Programs include medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. Using an evidence-based approach, clinicians utilize therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy and mindfulness to address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Additional services include 12-Step recovery, group therapy, family counseling, and relapse prevention to promote sustained recovery.

Inpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction with a focus on mental health is a good fit for people who need closer monitoring and care. Treatment may occur in a hospital setting, a clinic, or a luxury rehab center. Mental health counselors and staff are available 24/7. Therapies typically include group and individual counseling, relapse prevention education, and emotional coping skills training.

Programs

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

My experience has been nothing short of life-changing. The staff has been super helpful: whenever I had court I was written a progress letter, whenever I had emotional breakdowns I was provided one-on-one time with a staff member, and whenever I needed advice the staff was accommodating to my inquiries. I can't express how grateful I am to have chosen this program for my recovery. I am an active member with my AA community, but there are some facets of recovery that my AA groups don't touch upon - those holes were patched up during my attendance at Recovery is a Beach. Amanda and Mar have been extremely helpful during my stay, as well as Kat, Josh, and Kevin. I have had different types of therapy with each of these lovely staff members and I can't thank them enough for their help with my sobriety - whether it was one-on-one or group therapy. I have a strong foundation that I believe I wouldn't have had without this recovery center. Wyndi, Beth, LG, Martina, Rachelle, Jeremy, and Thomas have all been an integral part of my clean time as well. The whole staff cares, and their love shows through their devotion for their clients. I have had the honor of forming lasting relationships with most of, if not all, of the staff. I am blessed to have found this place and will never forget my original phone call to this facility to Nicole Stone - she got my information and told me to call Beth, and the rest is history. I have so many memories from this place, and it will be forever in my heart. A facility like this inspires me daily to help others and to be the best I can for the next struggling addict I meet in my AA meetings. Not only is this place helpful for my addiction, it has allowed me to accept my struggles with my anxiety and depression as well. My mental health has improved dramatically through attending Recovery Is A Beach. I thought my 3rd DUI last year was the end of my world, but this program proved to me that it was just the beginning of my life. My shame has moved into acceptance and I can't wait to show the world what I can offer.

I had a really positive experience with this outpatient program. From the moment I arrived, the environment felt welcoming and supportive. The staff truly make a difference—they are kind, attentive, and genuinely caring in the way they interact with everyone. Groups are very intimate and the clients there are connected and clearly care about each other. What stood out most to me was how organized and helpful the team is. Josh, Amanda, and Marlene take the time to listen, answer questions, and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. It never felt rushed or impersonal; instead, there was a strong sense that they actually care about each person’s progress and well-being. Overall, this program creates a safe, structured, and encouraging space for recovery. I’m grateful for the support I received here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for compassionate and professional outpatient care. Couldn’t have done it without them!

Thank you to the staff at Recovery is a Beach. I’m not sure if I agree that “Recovery is a Beach.” Recovery is very difficult but for some of us. It’s not a Beach. Recovery is a necessity to being alive and is the only thing we have left to live a normal life and not end up in jail or worse. I will say that if recovery is a goal, this place is probably the best facility in Southern California. And I’ve been to many treatment facilities throughout SoCal from up North down to Orange County. The groups are solid and run by very competent individuals. I enjoyed and got the most out of Josh’s groups personally. I can’t begin to describe Beth. She saved me. She’s an incredibly talented individual and an amazing person who genuinely cares about clients. Thank you Beth- John

I had an incredibly positive experience at Recovery Is a Beach, and I’m truly grateful for everything this program has given me. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome, comfortable, and supported. Everyone there is genuinely kind, approachable, and committed to helping people heal, which made it so much easier for me to open up and be honest about what I was going through. The group facilitators were a huge part of my growth during my time there. I learned so much from each of them, and the groups were always meaningful and impactful. I especially want to give a shoutout to Josh—his guidance, understanding, and ability to connect really stood out to me. He created a space where I felt heard and motivated to keep pushing forward. This program didn’t just help me get through a difficult time—it truly changed my life. I gained tools, perspective, and confidence that I’ll carry with me moving forward. Completing this program is something I’m really proud of, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of the staff and the environment they created. If you’re looking for a place where people genuinely care and where real growth can happen, I highly recommend Recovery Is a Beach.
