Not just cause of the house, but I felt safe there. After a while it felt more like home than my real house so I started calling it home. The staff were helpful and supportive. They didn't send me off to inpatient like other places would have when I was struggling. After trauma with the cops, in the last place, I was scared to leave cause of the outside world. I was 17 when I went to hillcrest treatment facility and heavily addicted to substances. As soon as I stepped inside I was welcome in with open arms. We had fresh meals made daily, fitness, and as well as other activities to get my natural dopamine back up, I made lifelong friendships and lifelong heart touching memories. It was the best time of my life and I stayed sober ever since then and I am 20 now, I bought my own car and I will be moving out into my own apartment soon. The caregivers and therapists and everyone involved was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I wasn’t able to keep in contact with them due to rules but I think about the caregivers, therapists and my experience that I had there every single day, it was so touching that every day I strive to do better because I think about all the people that helped me at hillcrest, eventually if possible I would even like to get a job there to help kids like I was helped. It was the most amazing heart warming experience I’ve had in my entire life and I would recommend this place a million times to anyone. If anyone from hillcrest that remembers me sees this, thank you for changing my life I truly wouldn’t be in the position I’m in if I never met all of you. The staff is incredible, genuinely caring, and Dr. Lugo, my therapist, is a true miracle worker who saw through me and helped me confront my issues. Anastasia , though initially intimidating, is actually the kindest person, and Suzanne ensured I had proper aftercare. The fact that it's a family-owned facility is amazing, as the entire family goes above and beyond to support you during your darkest times. I'm immensely thankful for the 90 days I spent at Inspire.. I needed help in my life and Elevation Behavioral Health provided the care and tools I was in search for. Starting from the admissions process until my final day, the Elevation staff went above and beyond. Stephanie, was in charge of my admissions, which she made seamless. Stephanie responded to all my emails and phone calls in a timely fashion and with great care. At the Calabasas house, I had the privilege to have Michele as my therapist. I owe her my life with how attentive and caring she was for me. Michele was compassionate, funny, and direct - something I needed. I could go on and on about how great of a therapist she was for me, but I do not know if there would be enough characters for me to write a review. Thank you Michele. The coaches and chefs, all of whom were therapists within their own right, were fantastic. In a place where you already feeling vulnerable they made it feel like home. Friendly, compassionate, and wonderful human beings overall is not enough to say about them. (Again, worried about the character limit here.) I want to thank them all and would give them all a gold stars if I could. If you do end up in the Calabasas house, I have left a letter for you, the client, to read, from one friend to another. I wanna start by saying I didn’t think treatment was gonna work I mean I wanted it too but I usually get kicked out of places, 4-5 months I spent in treatment, Meeting new people, learning coping skills and talking about my trauma and addiction. I want to thank my therapist Mariana, I love her so dearly much. When I first met her I was js ranting bout the ahit I been through thinking she’s js another therapist, she wasn’t she stayed. She helped me through all my bad moments and memories. I wouldn’t have made it this far without her. Te amo mucho Mariana. Now for the staff and nurses, I’m js gonna list the ppl who helped me, Nazaria, Sal, Jen, Jenny, Diana, Letty, Maria, Steve, Samin, Lyndsie, Blanca, Alexa, Karla, Maribel, Rocky, and Andrea, It’s not in order but all these staff had helped me on way or another when it came to recovery and going to a lower level of care. Yes they might have an attitude sometimes but they are really caring. I went bc I was a danger to myself and one of the nurses Mirabel helped me learn ways to cope and she was like a mother. I want to give a shout out to Mirabel, Sal, Jen, Jenny, Nazaria, Diana,l letiti, Alexa, And everyone other staff. BNI is the best treatment center I’ve been to and by the time I discharged I had learned so many coping skills and how to manage my anger. For me, she spent hours through IT to help me in completing college orientation prerequisites and kept in contact with my family to make things clear and easily understandable. She also helps her students complete resumes, TODO lists, and understand requirements for important events in life such as acquiring a drivers permit. RTC is not the best option for SUDs but it can act as a detox center. Without Maya, I may have fallen behind on my academic ventures and not have gotten much out of this RTC. The staff went above and beyond throughout his care. My son’s therapist, Leah, was the most integral part of his treatment. She was able to see what previous therapists have missed. The facility itself is beautiful and offers great therapies. I highly recommend this location if you are on the fence about trusting a facility with your child. Jessica De La Garza 1 year ago My child ended up getting involuntarily discharged and I'm still giving Evolve a 5 star rating because they were fantastic throughout the 30 day stay. Admissions helped us through the entire process over a weekend when my child was kicked out elsewhere. Facility was great. Staff from Management to therapists were all kind and very caring. Where Paradigm (Malibu) felt much more corporate, Evolve treated my daughter with so much compassioin, even through the discharge process. The therapist were even crying at discharge, and more telling, my child really wanted to go back after the episode passed. Medical staff tried much harder than elsewhere to find the secret sauce to help my kiddo. Good news, we did eventually find a med (at home) that helped a TON and we're mostly under control now. I'm sure Evolve made a big difference in this process. If you are a parent with a troubled teen, hang in there! Feels impossible some days, but I highly recommend the Evolve team. Oak Forest Recovery is unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have referred many people to Oak Forest, and nearly all of them have come back as healthier, stronger, and improved versions of themselves because of the care and support they received there. The level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine dedication from the staff is truly exceptional. I would highly recommend Oak Forest to anyone who wants to reclaim their life from addiction. Brian, Jude, Ginger, and Chris were instrumental in helping me gather the tools I needed to maintain my sobriety and believe in myself. The therapists are not equipped to handle more complex patients with extensive trauma so I suggest getting an outside therapist. They told me they couldn't help me in my therapy sessions but the groups about the big book and living that way of life are what really helped me understand myself and my disease. Brian’s lessons and wisdom helped so much, the clinicians believed I was faking my happiness and peace but it was inside those walls, I found my higher power and purpose. Oak forest is a stepping stone that teaches you how to help yourself stay sober. There was so much doubt from the other staff I met there, that I was so determined to succeed. There was one young female counselor and one older female in admin that gave me a lot of trouble and only favored the boys so be prepared to find your voice and never be afraid to use it. Trust in the 12 steps and those there that are loving and only want to see you break free from the shackles of alcoholism and addiction. Thank you for everything, Oak Forest. Ps. And I don’t say that lightly. I had been in and out of treatment for years when I stumbled upon Vista. I had all my walls up and had confidently decided that my eating disorder would get to dictate the rest of my life. I was hopeless and numb to care. But Vista and the staff there changed me. I am alive today because of the people who work here. Specifically the Clinical Director, she expressed genuine care, patience, and an unmatched level of dedication to my care. She gave me hope again. She made my life worth living again. She is who I want to be when I become a therapist too. She runs a tight ship and therefore the rest of the staff are lovely as well. She is amazing. She is there from the beginning to the end if you need anything. The first person I met at rise was Nam. He is the man he’s there for you all the time he works 20 hours a day. The man is amazing. Next, I met Zac the nurse he’s such a cool dude and listens to you and takes whatever concerns you have and it gets it fixed for you. As far as nurses Daisy, David and Nina were great. If you have real medical issues, I would not go there Dr.Raskin is a first class clown. The first time I met him, he spoke to me in the kitchen for 30 seconds and ran away. The next time I saw him was on Zoom for about 60 seconds and he got off. I had a lot of medical issues and he was not there for me. I was very disappointed in that. I refuse to see him after that that’s one of the few bad things about Rise is the doctor. If he was my employee he’d be fired. I complained about him a lot. The counselor Michael, Josh And Beth were great they listen to you and make you feel like they are helping you out. A special shout out to Cat My hippie dippy friend she is the one who does yoga and meditation. I never did that in my life before I’m an older man and she was amazing. I’m from the East Coast. The food was not that great. I was disappointed in that they have a private chef. James was the best chef That’s the only thing I could say about the food. Very disappointing. If you're from out of state and worried about starting over, don't be. They got you. But it starts with you deciding to make a change, and having an open mind to give them the chance to help. After your 28days, They have a badass PHP, IOP program, the facilitators are mostly recovering addicts themselves or educated drug counselors or both. These people are so freaking awesome and they genuinely care and you'll notice it immediately. I had reached out to Wish after being assaulted by a staff member at another program ( not affiliated with Wish) within 20 minutes of my call James had sent a uber to pick me up. Then between James and Fran they made sure my medications and the rest of my property were picked up. I was never made to feel like I was an inconvenience and my concerns were addressed without hesitation. All of the documentation needed to support my leave from work was completed promptly and sent to the necessary departments. The therapists are amazing and the center is beautiful, clean, and staffed with courteous professionals. My house manager Matt is caring and respectful.
