This is an absolutely wonderful facility for detox programs. The staff is kind and incredibly attentive and the food is amazing. Heartwood provides a very relaxed environment for you to undergo a medically assisted detox taper program that I personally found highly affective. My withdrawal symptoms were minimal and the taper itself wasn’t challenging at all. One of the nurses, Meredith, is absolutely incredible in her attention to your specific needs and feelings. She is very empathetic and understanding in addition to being friendly and easy to talk to casually while receiving your treatment. She is an absolute professional and excels at what she does. In my opinion she made the difference in bumping the review from four stars up to five. My girlfriend landed at Heartwood after a relapse and she was in bad shape. She said that every single person who works there was incredibly kind, understanding and accommodating. They do everything they can to make your detox as painless as possible. To her, it wasn’t just a place to dry out - she had many insightful conversations about recovery with the staff there (probably every interaction). Unfortunately, she had been to a couple of other detoxes and nothing compares to this place. Very nice & clean house, nourishing & delicious food, and she couldn’t say enough kind words about the people who work there.

My father, Fermin, received wonderful care and customer service from Sharlyn. She was attentive, thoughtful, and really catered to his needs. The PT, Regina, and OT, Stephanie, were also incredibly patient and supportive throughout his therapy.

This was one of the most significant moments of my life, and the kindness, professionalism, and compassion shown by your team made all the difference in my recovery.
I especially want to recognize Megan, Olga, Therese, Dominique, and Journey for their exceptional care. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, safe, and emotionally supported through every step of this major procedure. Their gentle reassurance, attention to detail, and genuine compassion helped transform what could have been a very difficult experience into one filled with hope and calm.

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table.
For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important.
There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening
Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time.
Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules.
Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed.
Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you.
If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor.
Every package you get will be inspected.
For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches.
You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed.
Hide your stash. People steal
Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies
Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it.
You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you.
Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus
You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it

Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind.
Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

Despite this place being a small health clinic, the medical staff does step up with their professionalism. Supposedly, this place is meant for those who are looking to solve their addict problem. At the same time though, people can see a physician here for a physical check up. Truly appreciate their professionalism from the personnel returning phone calls when people leave them messages, to the personnel being able to give patients their diagnostic. People can even contact the medical staff via email. There is parking available but, it is limited due to the space being small.

I rated Villa 5 stars because this was the only place I was able to be comfortable. They had a daily schedule of different things to do. During your stay you can have visitors and after the 72 hr hold give you passes to leave the campus for an hour or so. The staff was great and the patients were also welcoming. If I needed help this is where I would go. Thank you for saving me.. from myself.

I gotta give these guys 5 stars mainly because the only other review is an (in my opinion) unfair one star rating. I was in Villa Fairmont several years ago and while it may have had some problems (more like a 3.5 or 4 star) it was a place that helped me stabilize in a safe location until I was accepted in a Dual Diagnosis Recovery Home (Bonita House). I currently work in the recovery field and live an independent life. To me that is worth all of the struggles that I have had with any of the programs I have been in. Gotta go through hell before you get to heaven. That's just the way it is when you have a diagnosis that isn't socially acceptable... The system may not be perfect and there is certainly lots of broken components, but we need some kind of system and it does work for some. I know because I'm one.

(for the teen unit) This place generally was one of the most helpful places ever all the staff was so incredibly sweet, the OTs especially shout out to Hana (one of the OTS) because she was so amazing, the groups were very well done and it was so incredibly supportive there, there where also a lot of fun activites like painting nails, writting afirmation cards, bracelet making, movie nights, playing bordgames, all the other teenagers that where there well I was there where abosulte sweet hearts and I ended up staying in touch with them one I got discharged- the nurses where all pretty good but shoutout to my nurse Elena she was so helpful and really was able to support me through any needs, this place save my life and got me out of the deep end and am so incredibly thankful for all of it<3 thank you Alta bates phscy ward

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.

CDRP is a wonderful program full of counselors that really care about your health. But it won't work if you don't care. They have a nice new facility now, I've gone back to visit and it's really nice, clean, welcoming environment. I have long lasting friends I was able to make through their classes and 5 years sober.

This place is so amazing. This was my very first time on a 72 hour hold in a psychiatric facility so of course I was really nervous. The floor staff is amazing and very comforting. There was times where I was emotional and they would give me a hug and give me words of encouragement. The nurses are so sweet and really listened to what I needed. I felt very seen and heard by my social worker and psychiatrist. They really worked with me on a great treatment plan. I felt very happy here. The food was really good and I was very well fed. All the staff here is amazing. I loved the activities they had for us. I got to do drawing, outdoor time, coloring, yoga, etc. I enjoyed my time here very much and if any of the staff are seeing this review I just want to say THANK YOU. You all truly saved my life.

I was hospitalized here after going through Hell at two Kaiser EDs. The staff was wonderful and supportive. The staff helped me to feel comfortable and well cared for. My needs were met and I felt it was a safe place for those who needed a greater amount of care and supervision. The groups were very generalized for the wide range of patients whom were housed there. This is a facility that is meant for people who are at risk of hurting themselves or others and/or need to get regulated on their medications. It is meant to be a stepping stone to get more help after you are no longer a risk. I feel the perception of most of the poor reviews are from people who are fighting against what they need rather those who are seeking help.

Otherwise, the place is doing it's job... Although I wonder what the official job title and description is (Of Veteran Case Managers or anyone assigned a potential influence over my fate) ...and what freedoms they are given to recommend a vet to, say, a place they know the vet won't fit in...
...we all know when someone bears you Ill will, and when it's those assigned to your care, however minor, it Instills distrust in our institutions.

Seeing as I am here on a weekly basis I felt it only a must that i write a review. As you walk through the main double doors and come to the front desk you will be met with nothing but the utmost respect and decency. The men and women that take position here are lovely individuals who genuinely care about your health and well being. No matter if you are a regular or if you are on vacation or just on your way though, I can guarantee they will do there absolute best to help you in what ever you current issue or situation may be. If they are unable to solve your issue do not fret they will not shy away from making you aware that your issue is best suited for the actual VA Hospital which lay just up the hill. You can sit back and relax but don't get too comfortable the wait times are short and you will be in and out in a flash. Yet you can be confident you are getting the best possible care. Comparing to any other VA Clinics's or any VA affiliated medical facility this by far exceeded my expectations and has been such a gift to have in these past months.

The staff at HAART truly saved my life. I went from being on the street with no shoes on my feet to being totally clean with a career, a home, a car and a family. I don't even want to think about what would have happened had I not been given such amazing support from this clinic. They truly care about you. Dr. Martinez is the best doctor to ever exist and he will do anything he can to get you right. He offered to buy me shoes when I was coming to the clinic shoeless. I even named my daughter after my counselor. (who is no longer there, unfortunately) They are 110% judgement free and I always look forward to catching up with everyone. I went from having to go in to dose everyday to only going once a month to get my supply because I worked hard to have clean drug tests and be the person I was before my abusive relationship sent me into a downward spiral. My heart goes out to HAART! Don't listen to the random negative comments. The people that talk crap are only giving you a one-sided version of events, and are probably narcissistic liars who like to blame everyone else for their own short comings. If you need help, this is the spot.

I was so lucky to have found this clinic about two years ago. Where I was introduced to Dr Martinez as well as my counselor Natasha.. So reguarding my overall experience at this clinic was unlike any I had been before. If you have been to other facilities s as I have then you know how impersonal they are kinda feels like you’re being processed like cattle lol. But not here. Here you get real individualized personal treatment plans tailored for your success by people who truly care about your results. Actually you can tell as soon as you enter from their welcoming staff This place is different. Where I found the most help however has been from my counselor Natasha. She has continuously gone out of her way for me in ways I would never to have expected becoming a huge part of my successes and sobriety, there is no way this review can explain how amazing she has been or how lucky I am to have found her and. I want to just say how thankful I am to Natasha Dr Martinez Nurses and staff have always been there in my corner never giving up on me. Dr Martinez it’s another one of those rare doctors that still care and have an excellent bed side manor and went above and beyond the call of duty for me numerous times. Lastly the nurses at the window for dosing are also outstanding really taking the time to get to know you personally making your total experience feel like family in my corner always routing me on! I am so thankful to be sober since I’ve started with them and if your looking for a place to commit to sobriety with them lol no further and come join the family!

My sibling was in a terrible medical condition due to alcoholism. The doctor told us he was going to die if he didn’t get treatment immediately. I called all across the country and talked with staff who walked me through the treatment process better than anyone else and offered a reasonable price. I flew my sibling across the country the following day. He is now a completely different person and recovering. They literally saved his life. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They do things the right way. Kind, caring, but firm. Fair price. They know what they are doing. As a seasoned trial attorney, I can tell the fakers from the real deal. These guys are the real deal.

Elms house and the staff there helped me save my life. I went there for 3 months and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. They do their best with the resources they have. It’s honestly the type of place where you get what you want from the program so you have to really take a good look at yourself and take accountability for yourself and decide what you want and if your ready to put in some work every single day for it. Christine also helped me sign back up for college, I’m in my second semester and loving it.
