This is my primary care medicine home. I love the people here and I have been coming here for over ten years. The doctors and nurse practitioners are great and the nurses are very helpful. They have someone to do the lab work on site, so that is very helpful. You rarely have to wait long to be seen once you get there and they offer plenty of resources if you need them. Their referral department is fast and helpful as well. Over all I feel very fortunate to have them as my medical care facility.

If it wasn't for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. Also thank you all the other counselors and teachers for your amazing support through one of the most difficult times of my life.

Great staff and invaluable lessons for recovery, relationships, personal development, self esteem and parenting classes. 👏 Been here twice, with a break in between, but so glad to come back and be welcomed with open arms and without judgment as a person, an addict and a first time mother going through the many challenges that come with that and other traumatic life events. Thanks so much! If you are in doubt, try it, if you want to improve your life perspective, try it, if you left and still want a helping community, try to come back and give it another shot. Best wishes to my sisters in motherhood and recovery.

I have struggled with alcohol abuse for the last three years and this was the ONE place out of 23 treatment centers that finally worked. Nobody ever thought they would see me sober, but today I can say I am, thanks to Sober Life. I was a frequent relapser, just barely making it by, and when I decided to seek treatment through Sober Life a whole new world opened for me. The team at Sober Life cares. I felt valued, I felt empowered, understood and heard. After being in and out of so many treatment centers I found myself fatigued, but through my process with Sober Life I actually wanted to continue my program as long as I could. I WANTED to be there and I've learned a life I never knew possible thanks to the team there. I can say that this program likely saved my life, and showed me a new life that I could never have imagined. The support and understanding was beyond belief. I felt so safe there. I've made friendships with a lot of my peers from groups as well. Which I never wanted to do before. Recovery can be difficult to begin, scary to start, but Sober Life feels SAFE. I'm not the type to write reviews, but I know how hard I struggled and for anyone reading this or questioning a start, I highly recommend this team. I am eternally grateful for my experience there.

Sober life has been one of the best experiences in my life! I came in not really sure what I wanted out of treatment and scared to really connect with people and have them see me in my weaker moments. All of the staff at sober life loved me through these issues and helped me get to a place where I felt safe and comfortable enough to communicate what was really going on with me, and gave me the tools I needed to be able to deal with things as they came up on a daily basis. Anytime I was a little off or lost any amount of momentum, they noticed immediately and did whatever they could to make sure I continued my progress and that even though addiction is a lonely disease, it became a lot easier to believe I wasnt alone and recovery is possible. It wasn't complicated at all, they handle the insurance stuff for you so you can focus and prioritize your recovery over anything else. Kimberly, Dan, Ashley, and Kelley have all been huge grounding stones in my recovery, showing up every time and helping me make solutions out of chaos. Having all of these amazing, kind, and extremely dependable people in my life has kept me steady and also taught me what having people around who genuinely love you, want the best for you, and who celebrate your achievements and help you through your downfalls looks like. Like any recovery program, you have to want it and put in your own effort, but they make the weight just lighter enough that it seems much more attainable.

I fortunately haven't gone inpatient since I was 5 months post partum and the death of my mother in the same two month period in 2016. There were several years while I lived in San Diego, where I was at Mesa Vista almost monthly. I live in Pennsylvania now, and my mental health is really going down here. I'm considering flying to San Diego for inpatient care. I'm trying to hold on until after the holidays.. I'm just barely holding it together so my husband who works in the airline industry doesn't get fired for needing to take off during the worst time of the year (the holidays) to care for our young children. I really hope I can for the sake of my family. I would never go inpatient out here! Sharp Mesa Vista is bar none the BEST inpatient psychiatric hospital I've been in and I'm 51, first hospitalized at age 13! That's a LONG time to have experienced. I'm sure half of the nurses have retired. And probably no hospital allows vaping..but if I have to go through nicotine withdrawal for my mental health, I will. I really am not understanding why all psychiatric hospitals are on this no vaping/cigarette kick..we have enough going on! This isn't towards this hospital..but it is about the system. It's really just to have this appearance of health...when it's really more of being control freaks and that's a shame. I'm sure there's a lot of people who just won't even consider help for this one reason. I think it's ridiculous. It's not prison, the mentally ill are not criminals (usually)!

When I came to Restore, I had been struggling with a 7 year Heroin addiction. I had already been through three 30 day treatment programs. Nothing worked. I would leave rehab and go right back out and use. I was hopelessly looking for anything or anyone that could help me. I noticed right away that Restore was different. They only accept up to seven clients at a time, allowing a more personal experience. Restore gave me tools I had never been given before. They teach the SMART Recovery program rather than the same old 12 step programs that didn't work for me in the past. I would definitely recommend Restore Detox to anyone struggling with drugs or alcohol.

I like to thank Pacific Bay recovery for helping my husband and treating him like family. The staff helped him every step of the way, we have tried several rehabilitation centers and none of them worked. My Husband has been through a lot was addicted to everything was a very agitated man and I am so thankful to have my husband back and it’s all because of this program. He stayed in the copper house for two months and he loved it so much. It was hard to bring him home. He chose his recovery center And he was there because he wanted to be there not because he wanted to be Not because he had to be there. He was not the easiest patient in the beginning, but he stuck it out because Made him feel comfortable as they treated him like family. His big guy there since January 5. And they have truly been a blessing to our family Him get through his addictions, his mental state, they have great counselors Psychiatrist they have been a blessing. My father has been attending this recovery place. Watching someone you love struggle is one of the most painful experiences life can offer. My father’s journey with addiction affected not only him, but our entire family. This rehab gave my dad a chance to step away from the chaos and begin to face the pain that fueled his addiction. This place has treated him greatly and I'll be forever grateful for what they have done. Since entering the program a few months ago, he has begun the hard work of healing. I finally feel like I have my dad back and could not be more thankful for the staff and everyone else included, truly. I HIGHLY recommend this place for someone and/or a family member struggling with addiction.

When I was looking for IOP drug rehabs San Diego, HGR always seemed to be coming up. After carefully examining their addiction treatment centers website, I decided to give them a call. I was surprised that their CEO answered the phone. Nora Jenkins carefully answered all my questions on how their intensive outpatient program worked. I didn't realize that I needed to go through alcohol detoxification first. Their alcohol detox centers San Diego option accepts most health insurances and they accepted mine which was AETNA, This outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation program allowed me to continue working and get the help I needed. I have been alcohol and drug free for 67 days thank to HGR Drug rehabs San Diego. Thank you, Nora and your caring staff.

This alcohol detox San Diego substance abuse rehabilitation center saved my life. It was unlike the other California drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers that I attended prior. Their medical doctors provided me with a detailed treatment plan. This plan started at their alcohol detox centers San Diego then put me into their inpatient drug rehabs San Diego program. This is where their treatment process differed. They performed a dual diagnosis. This got to the root of my addiction. I had several co-occurring disorders that were left untreated by other addiction treatment centers. While in the residential inpatient program I had one on one meetings with their credentialed substance abuse counselors. These sessions were difficult but helped me address my addiction problems head on. I have been clean for 6 months and finally am getting my life back. Thank you, Harmony Grove Recovery.

Harmony Grove Recovery is the best alcohol rehab in San Diego hands down. Their alcohol detox San Diego program is medically supervised. They gave me medication assisted treatment that not only reduced the painful withdrawal that I usually experience, but they almost eliminated it. They were my first choice because I saw that they accepted most health insurances. The alcohol detox lasted 8 days. After completing that, I went to their residential inpatient drug rehabs San Diego program. I highly recommend this California drug and alcohol addiction treatment center.

The people that make up the team at Brightquest are some of the most compassionate, patient and caring people you’ll come across. Simon in admissions takes the time to understand what’s going on with your loved one and how to get them from point A to point B. He really cares and takes the time to understand the whole picture. Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding. Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators. In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared. Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer. Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.) I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion. Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all. At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

JOSE, PETE, MARIO AND NADIA along with every member of the staff is ABSOLUTELY UNDER PAID FOR THE CARE THEY PROVIDE, THEY NOT ONLY LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE (NO EXAGGERATION) BUT THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE FAMILY FOR THE SHORT TIME I WAS THERE, I OWE MY LIFE TO THE WHOLE ENTIRE STAFF, if it were not for paradise I know I wouldn't be alive, the words THANK YOU and GREATFUL do NOT suffice what that staff means to me and what they are worth, you have a TEAM OF NOTHING BUT ROCKSTARS THERE THAT GO ABOVE AND WAY BEYOND WHAT THEY NEED TO, THEY NEVER DO THE BARE MINIMUM TO GET BY BUT INSTEAD THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU MATTER, LIKE YOUR SOMEONE SPECIAL AND THAT IS PRICELESS, when your a recovering addic you already have no self-esteem, self respect or self worth but the staff helps you not only recover but they also help you get all the self worth, respect and esteem back as well, I could go on forever so I'll leave it with this, PARADISE ISN'T JUST A REHAB / DETOX FACILITY BUT ITS ALSO A PLACE THAT TREATS YOU LIKE YOU MATTER AND AS A ADDIC THAT MEANS EVERYTHING!!! I wanted to leave this long review with the hope that someone at the center would take it seriously and learn from it. To begin, I gained entry to this program because a doctor recommended me. And honestly? It was the best thing to happen to me that year. The staff is friendly and kind, and they will connect you to lots of resources. That said, there is always room for improvement. For the record, I was homeless when I entered this program (I’m not anymore) due to having lost my job during CO VID. I am an educated woman with a BA in English literature and a survivor of long term narcissistic abuse. My criticism of Balboa Crisis Center is that they don’t enforce the rules! Clients are supposed to attend groups, participate in chores, and respect other people’s food in the fridge. I had a roommate who did the exact opposite and was allowed to stay in the center for a very long time, instead of being kicked out as she should have been. One day she became randomly angry at me and started stealing my food out of the fridge. By this point I realized she was a narcissist – as in, she had full blown NPD – and had imagined some insult from me against her, which narcissists are known to do, often because they are projecting. When I told the staff about this, nothing was done. So I did what I could to minimize the situation by avoiding my roommate as much as possible and asking to be moved to another room. What the staff should have done was exit VICTORIA from the program, instead of allowing her to stay, steal food, shirk chores, and claim a bed that someone else needed more. I was allowed to stay a long time myself, but the end of my stay was coming, and I would be homeless on the street again. I was very upset about the prospect, and Victoria knew this. As I walked past her in the kitchen, she sarcastically said “Bye!” as a passive aggressive way of mocking me for being homeless again soon. This is how narcissists operate, through plausible deniability. I couldn’t prove that she was mocking me because she had been passive aggressive about it. It was covert abuse. Suddenly sick of always attracting narcissistic bullies into my life, I wheeled back around and asked her what was wrong with her. I think it was at this point that she realized she may have IMAGINED whatever she was mad at me for. She started insisting that she meant nothing by it,that she was just saying goodbye (lies). Things escalated to the point that I picked up a cup from the table and threw it at her. I was sick and tired of narcissists. I’ve been abused by a LOT of them and they are drawn to me because I’m quiet, shy, and a loner, the perfect candidate for covert abuse. Well, not anymore. Everyone acted like I was crazy and imagined Victoria’s behavior, but I know the truth. She stole from me and made me do her chores for weeks, then had the gall to mock me about being exited, and when I finally snapped, tried to make herself out to be the victim. Classic narcissist behavior. And since the staff is made up of psych students, I hope they read this and learn something about narcissists. So on top of being in a crisis (homelessness), I put up with abuse from narcissistic Victoria AND bullying from some of the women on staff, women who were jealous, petty, and insecure. It was a lot to deal with at the time, and with Victoria actively provoking me, it's no wonder I finally snapped. Did anyone there see me with empathy at all? You know, as a human being with feelings? Either way, I am still grateful to Balboa Crisis Center and I hope they take steps to prevent something similar from happening in the future. Yes, this is Ashley. =)

The Jane Westin Center is a unique psychiatric treatment center in San Diego, California. To be specific, this is a psychiatric urgent care clinic. It’s for people with urgent mental health needs including people with co-occurring drug and alcohol addiction. This outpatient treatment center is for people who are 18 or older who need specialty men
The Jane Westin Center is slow as hell, yes. HOWEVER once you are seen, the care is second to none. The counselors, doctors, psychiatrists, nurses and even front desk staff treat you like you matter. They treat you like they care about you and are concerned for your well being. They also insist upon going above and beyond to help you. They offered me help I didn’t even come in for… which I needed. I can not thank the staff enough for being so gregarious and thoughtful. You made me safe and cared for just when I needed it most.

The people that make up the team at Brightquest are some of the most compassionate, patient and caring people you’ll come across. Simon in admissions takes the time to understand what’s going on with your loved one and how to get them from point A to point B. He really cares and takes the time to understand the whole picture. Rey is one of the client care coordinators at Brightquest and he takes the time to build rapport with each and every one of the clients. We transferred my father to this treatment center and I was absolutely impressed with the amount of detail and time they put into getting to know him and all the issues he is having. His history and making it very family-centered with his care. A three-day comprehensive in-processing. Never found a place like it, definitely a gem as far as residential psychiatric treatment center goes. They go the extra mile. Thanks!
