I read many of the reviews here and the negative comments seemed to come from people who are either recovery Nazis -bashing MAT services- or people who may have had a personal grudge. Other clinics can keep you waiting for well over an hour because the nurses are either at lunch, or too busy. Also, security keeps the parking lot clean and safe from the homeless drug dealers, where other places simply ignore the problem. SOAP MAT cares and it shows!

This place is predatory, as in they are money hungry and prey on addicts under the guise of helping them. They are only friendly to you when you are paying them; anytime after that, they will treat you with disrespect and intimidation. They use outdated statistical information and attempt to brainwash you into being dependent on them. While there is a lot of useful information and services they can direct you toward, this third party company is only interested in taking your money and treating you as less-than-human.
In my experience, Dale Walters, the in-take coordinator and class teacher, was only friendly toward me when I was paying him money for the program. Afterward, he treated me with disrespect by insulting me in front of the rest of the class, talking to me as if I were five years old and consistently disregarding my personal space by knocking over my water bottle and saying, "oh, I don't care about anything beneath my knees." This has been my experience and I hope it helps shed light on the poor practices of this company and its employees.

Best Crisis home in San Diego! Staff are super nice, relatable, and forgiving (Shout out to Ivan!) if you mess up and relapse on the property. They gave me a second chance. They truly care about your mental health and addiction recovery progress. Turning Point helped me out in a big way. It was February, it was raining and cold. I was staring at a six-week waiting list to get into residential SUD treatment and being on the streets. Turning Point gave me shelter, food, counseling, my medication and a phone to use to call the rehab every day and move up the waiting list. They kept me until I got in to Pathfinders. I have been clean for five years before that I battled a ten-year heroin addiction. I cannot thank God enough for this facility and some of the counselors. I learned how to live again here and what it meant to be a woman, and as a result of this place and the assistance they provided to me and my son, I now have two lovely daughters who have never seen me high. The help is available; you get what you put into it. If you are tired of using, come here. It will not be easy, but if you can remain silent, listen, and learn, your entire life can and will change. I often think about this place and the counselors who helped change my life, and I am so thankful to God.Jesus set me free from addiction, and he used this place to mend my broken heart and make me whole again.

This review is for AUDREY & ROSA — two truly outstanding professionals.
Audrey has been an incredible part of my experience for over 10 years, and I can say without hesitation that she’s one of the most reliable, dedicated, and hard-working people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. She brings not only professionalism but also a kind heart to everything she does. Audrey goes above and beyond to make sure patients feel cared for — from making appointment scheduling easy to consistently sending reminders and communicating clearly. Her attention to detail and genuine compassion are evident in everything she does. She is an absolute asset, and NCMH is very fortunate to have her as a long-standing, trusted member of the team.
I also want to recognize ROSA — what an amazing addition to the team! Though newer to MCMH, Rosa is already making a strong impression. She handles the demands of this sometimes stressful field with such grace and a positive attitude. She’s always warm, welcoming, and keeps things running smoothly alongside Audrey. Together, they make an incredible team that contributes so much to creating a professional, organized, and comforting environment for both patients and staff.
To both of you: please know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. On the tough days, remember how valued you are. Your dedication truly makes a difference — and it’s deeply appreciated.

I don't know why some people are bad mouthing TLM other than they are ungrateful selfish brats. I've been clean since 2016. I'm grateful for Lewis and his staff. They work hard to make a difference in people's lives. They care about others but if you don't care about yourself then don't expect others to pity you. Lewis will take the shirt off his back for anyone as long as you're willing to help yourself too. Lewis and his staff have big hearts at least when I went there and I can't imagine that much has changed. I never knew Lewis to allow lying, stealing, drugs, let alone cheating or anything bad of any sort. Last I knew, their were rules everyone had to abide by. The food was delicious. Lewis charged a fee for in-house living. Nothing is free. Lewis would even make arrangements to work with you on the fees so I don't want to hear all the rude, nasty comments and negative input written on the reviews from the imbeciles whom have bad mouth TLM. They obviously have no respect, no integrity, let alone dignity. If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all because TLM is a place I would definitely recommend to anyone 100% especially if you want to get clean or sober. I lived through it and so can you. I'm literally a different person because of TLM. I'm grateful for the life's lessons I learned at TLM. My life is 💯 better than ever because of TLM.

Get ready folks, because this is going to be a novel. I have that many good things to say. This is my one and only time in a treatment center. South Shores Recovery is a blessed, incredible experience from start to finish. They coordinate everything from your arrival to your exit, checking on you every step of the way. From the moment you arrive you are met with care and compassion. They do everything they can to make you comfortable and feel safe as you detox and in your surroundings, that includes when you move to another house after you get settled from your week of detox. The staff from in-take to techs to case managers and therapist genuinely care and take care of you at every turn. It felt more like friends than staff and guest- a quick shout out to all those that I got the pleasure to meet. They are truly wonderful and so very appreciated. They keep you fed and full of snacks as you ride the road of recovery while also keeping you busy with group during the week and nightly meetings ranging from AA, CA (Cocaine Anonymous)to NA (Narcotics Anonymous). The weekly group sessions are different every day and include things like yoga, sound therapy, meditation, harp, trips to the gym and outdoor activities like surfing. Saturdays have a fun activity like kayaking, bowling or going to the movies. While Sundays involve a weekly trip to Target and the option of going to church in the morning. This keeps the entire experience beneficial to the mind, body and soul. This recovery center is not just for alcoholics but for any addict that makes the brave decision to get better and work toward the life they deserve. This was the best decision I have ever made, aside from marrying my husband. If you are apprehensive or concerned about taking this first step, please take my advice and consider... this can't hurt, it can only help and that is exactly what the amazing humans at South Shores Recovery strive and are meant to do.

The best place I have ever been. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Aton. The clinical staff is amazing and their psychiatry Is the best I’ve ever seen. The houses are beautiful and the Food is absolutely great. They completely understand that every single person has a different approach and they are flexible 100%. I’ve been to my fair share of rehabs and I’m very proud and grateful to say that Aton Is the best I’ve ever been to. Thank you guys so much!

I spent 39 days at Aton and truly believe it changed my life. I have been to several centers and I made more progress here during my 39 days then I had spending 90 days at another highly regarded facility.
What made Aton special for me is the family feeling from the moment you walk into the door and that familiar feeling only grows the more time you spend here. Aton’s focus around mind body and soul is exactly as marketed between gourmet meals, daily holistic offerings, daily walks and gym.
The therapy is definitely next level. Having individual sessions once a day is life changing. I was amazed when they told me I could choose my team and in doing so I got the pleasure of being exposed to the entire team, appreciated each of their individual approaches, and ultimately got a team that fit my needs perfectly. Specifically I was allowed to do emdr for five days straight which has helped me tremendously.
Thank you to the entire team for helping me through the hardest time of my life without even feeling like it. To those reading these reviews or considering Aton consider yourself lucky as this is truly a special place

Del Mar, CA | Casa Palmera, in Del Mar, California, is a luxury, 12 ste-ofucsed drug and alcohol rehab for adults offering medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis care, and inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), sober living, and aftercare programming. Dedicated services are available for young adults, e | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I spent six weeks at Casa Palmera just recently. The whole staff was attentive to my needs no matter what hour of the day it was. I had an opportunity to get to the bottom of some of my personal issues and I learned a lot from other patients during group sessions. Everyone there seemed to have a lot more in common than was said and our connections we were making at the time I was there strengthened recovery. Casa Palmera was responsive to my inquiries and needs. I was inspired by the way their team creatively boosted group engagement.
The handling of contraband became a personal hassle I experienced, but every time I needed something from my contraband, the staff handled it professionally and mindfully. I am a tech savvy individual myself so I communicated that to staff and an arrangement was met to help accommodate that part of who I am. Things like that made me feel great about being there.
I really enjoyed the outing I went on to play kickball and drive alongside the beach. Holy smokes, I didn't think it was possible to come out of that six weeks with a new perspective on recovery, but it happened and I'm feeling much more motivated to continue. This felt like the acceleration I needed to have in my recovery to stay on the rails.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals there and have no complaints on that whatsoever. Coffee was always out when it was scheduled to be too.
Casa Palmera hit the ball out of the park the whole six weeks I was there and I'm pretty sure they will continue to do so. I have every confidence that the next patient going into their care will have a positive experience that they can recall on for a lifetime.
The whole staff are all great at what they do and love what they do, which is very important to me. I could also see that the whole staff holds themselves to a high standard and high level of discipline, which is what I want to continue to do for myself and family.
My mood swings were taken seriously and cared for appropriately. My medication was quickly adjusted to ensure that I was keeping on the right track as well. This made for a smooth transition back to my primary psych with Casa Palmera's updates to my medication.
The 24/7 approach to treatment enabled me to make up for lost time and I would go back again in a heartbeat if need be.
I highly recommend Casa Palmera to anyone that needs to be at a treatment center, no matter what stage of recovery you're in.
Many thanks,
Jacob L.

Casa Palmera did an exceptional job. The food was stellar, and they care about their patients. They teach us with the skills necessary to build the life we dream of all done in a supportive environment. This is the place to go when you are needing to get back on your feet.

When I think back on my experience at Casa Palmera in Del Mar, I get a peaceful feeling because when I was there, I felt safe and cared for.
It is a wonderful treatment facility and the best thing I ever did for myself!
The facility itself is very peaceful with multiple courtyards, fountains, and a koi pond where we went to journal or meditate.
The staff members are outstanding.
Starting with the lead therapists, facilitators, and behavioral techs.. to the yoga teacher, housekeepers, and kitchen staff. I felt like everybody was so kind and compassionate. The therapists were top notch, where they really try to fit people with the a therapist to match their needs
Casa incorporates a variety of practices to benefit recovery. There are AA/CA/HA, meetings; Refuge Recovery, Trauma, therapy, music, therapy, meditation, yoga…
For special outings, there are beach days, hiking, horse, therapy, etc.
it may seems like a frivolous detail for some, but having three meals a day and snacks prepared for me every day, and having my laundry done for me so I could focus on my recovery was the icing on the cake.
I am a local, living in the area and there are so many of us in the recovery community who went there At various times, some people more than once; and we’re still like a big family Who love and support each other
There are going to be people who complain about it, but I think most of those people are the ones that were in there not of their own accord, and found fault with everything. It’s not a 5-star hotel, which some seem to expect when they come.
It’s a beautiful and loving recovery facility where they love you into health so you can leave there with the tools to start your lifetime of recovery. They give you the reins to take responsibility and take action for your own recovery when you leave.

San Diego, CA | Evolve Treatment Center for Teens, located in San Diego, California, is an alcohol and drug rehab center, mental health center, and dual diagnosis treatment center for teens. They provide residential services. Evidence-Based, Individualized Care Our treatment model is rooted in proven, evidence-based approaches, with a strong emphasis on Dialecti | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My daughter’s mental health symptoms showed up at age thirteen. It seemed like overnight we went from having a typical child who enjoyed spending time with family, playing with friends, reading books, going on outings to just wanting to die. It was a very scary and confusing place for our family. I tried and tried to find providers who could help her. She went to multiple providers and programs with little change. After our insurance changed, we were able to start treatment at Evolve. From the very beginning, I felt that we were in good hands. The staff are well trained and the program is well designed. My daughter’s behaviors and our family’s communication patterns changed dramatically. After four years of feelings as if I had lost my daughter, I have my daughter back. I’m grateful that the providers at Evolve have extensive knowledge and experience with teens with mental health issues, and we finally got the help we needed!

Evolve did wonders for our teen. I'm sure it's hard for them to get reviews as this is such a private matter. The whole process is utterly heartbreaking. You don't end up here because you wanna be here. That being said they worked with us as a family so well. I really liked that. They involve you in the treatment and try to ensure that you will have the tools necessary to help your child continue on their path of healing. The path is BUMPY, and it heartbreaking. I remember graduating out of program thinking I don't know if I am ready to do it without them. They helped us navigate tough topics and issues our teen would shut down on us with. Helped us see each other's sides. Helped our teen see themeself. When we graduated out were ok and we did move forward on our own. As a family we are so thankful for the staff at Evolve and the forever impact they have made on our child's life. The skills they shared, our kiddo still uses. Our kiddo really had a connection to the staff. There was also a pet lizard that meant a lot to our kiddo. There's so much I could say about this place. But the biggest is just two words FOREVER THANKFUL.

San Clemente, CA | Chapters Capistrano, located in San Clemente, California, is a luxury detox and residential alcohol and drug rehab program that provides addiction treatment to men and women seeking recovery. Clients are medically monitored and su | Treatments Programs Payment Options | As someone who was very hesitant to try an impatient program, I couldn’t be happier that I found this gem. Everything from the admissions coordinator (Kim), to the private driver from airport (Todd), to my intake at the house (Hans, Reif, Edith, Josh), to the private chef (Danielle), to the supervisor (Sam), to the case managers and therapists (Robert, Ligi, Jess), everyone made absolute sure that this seemingly scary experience was far from just that.
The care/medication management was on point. The private chef cooked some of the testiest meals I have ever consumed. The views of the pacific were absolutely incredible. I used the onsite home gym and hot tub daily. They even had onsite accupuncture and yoga. The group therapy content and material was life changing and foundational in my recovery journey. Each of the 6 bedrooms in the house has a unique vibe and special touch. I was so thankful to have access to my laptop as a working professional, and my phone to stay in touch with friends and family. We even had outings to go shopping, walk the harbor and pier, massages, kayaking, and whale watching. Chapters Capistrano saved my life and will never be forgotten.

Chapters Capistrano is absolutely amazing in every way, starting with the incredible supervisor of the center, Savannah. Her work ethic, inspiring attitude and true care for each patient trickles down to every component of the program, making it the best center I have ever attended. I am forever indebted to Chapters for providing me with the skills and insight I was missing to finally break free from the chains of addiction. Also, the small setting (no more than 6 clients per house) allowed for deeper connections which is so important to early recovery! Thank you to the whole staff for all of their patience and love, the walks on the beach, the outings, getting aftercare set up, getting me on the right meds and the wonderful atmosphere that truly is designed to set the clients up for success!! Thank you all so much!
