I can’t say enough good things about the staff at all their locations because they deserve all the praise and so much more. Recently I had my teeth fixed at Vale Terrace with Dr. Silva and she was able to save a tooth that I was sure I was going to loose; on top of that she stopped a very painful infection. Dr. Silva and her assistant Mike Villanueva worked some miracles on my teeth. From the front desk staff to the doctors and assistants they really have a great team.

This place is AMAZING! I used VCC about 25 years ago and it was a horrible experience, so when my health ins (MediCal) insisted I use VCC recently as my provider clinic, I wasn’t too happy. That said, I’m SO HAPPY I did. Everyone here is incredibly caring and nice. My doctor is patient and all smiles. The lab dept has the nicest people as well. The facilities are super modern and clean, from the waiting rooms to the exam rooms. Everyone there is just great! Don’t hesitate to go. VCC is fantastic. 😊😊

I have had such a torrid tumultuous yet serene and beautiful romance with Green Oak Ranch. I graduated the program in 2010 and I loved it so much I went back and graduated again. Lol. I really do love the place, but I went back because I had walked out of the gates the first time I graduated and I left my relationship with God and my support group behind. I just wasn't done yet. Fortunately, I didn't die while adding more horrible experiences to my testimony.
I knew I needed to go back because I truly met Jesus while I was there. I experienced REAL Christian fellowship with beautiful peopls who shared similar struggles as mine. I hear all the stories about how the staff developed issues in recent years. But, I can only attest to what I experienced while I was there. I believe that God handpicked each and every staff member while I was there. Beautiful souls who "figured it out". They devoted their lives to helping point others to Christ. They gave up lucrative careers to fulfill the purpose that God had for their lives. I didn't always get along with the staff (go figure a recovering addict who doesn't always jive with authority, hahaha)
It was thru all of the people that I was blessed to cross paths with while I was in the program that I got a taste of what true joy was. For the first time in my life I had a peace that I could never do justice to by trying to put it into words.
But, even after experiencing that I made the choice to go and "return to my own vomit" as scripture says. After running amuck for several months my health began to decline. But, not my physical health. My mental health had been truly tested and I was for the first time in my life failing that test. My pride wouldn't allow me to call Mary or Carl Fielstra (love you both..RIP Carl). My confidence was non-existent, I had no relationship with God. I told myself that God wouldn't want me back anyways. I was hopeless and I planned to take my life. I went to the store to get some things that I needed to make that happen. While heading out of the the Big 5 with a box of .38 caliber rounds I headed towards my car. I noticed my shoelace was untied ao I bent down to tie it. While I was crouched i heard footsteps and before i could even look up I saw a pair of Lugz Boots that I recognized without hesitation. I stood up and there was Green Oak Staff Member and "Triple OG" Carlos Atkinson (alright....alright). He and I had become close during my previous time at the Ranch. He didn't say a thing and neither did I for a few minutes. I hid the box of ammo behind my back. Carlos looked me in the eyes and said "Gabe we gonna get you some help ok?" And I threw my arms around him cuz I had wanted help for a while but my pride kept me from asking. 3 weeks later I entered residential treatment at Green Oak for the last time.
Sorry for the novel. But, that is what Green Oak once was. People have their reason for why they love Green Oak Ranch. They have many reasonswhy they go camping there every year or why they volunteer there on Thanksgiving. Or, like me, they have reasons why they knew they needed to "come home" again.
I'm sure there are countless reasons why people fell in love with the Ranch. Those are icing on the cake. The real reason people go back for any reason is because they saw Jesus at the Ranch.
It's hard seeing the place change. Pretty soon the Ranch won't be the Ranch. I pray for Solutions for Change that the land will be used to help the widows and orphans.
Yep, the Ranch is for the most part now just a memory. I'm gonna throw this out there. There are plenty of places with land. I pray for the funds and the right people to step up. Maybe Green Oak Ranch hasn't seen its last hurrah? Maybe God just wants to find a different venue.
He who has ears....
Oh by the way..... after Carlos let go of hugging me he Snatched the box of bullets I hid behind my back and he said, "Gimme the receipt".
He smacked me on the back of my head and said "you better get up outta here before I show you how we do in "Detroit". Haha.

I got there on November 7th of 2024 and I was there about 62 days, at first I wanted to leave really badly, but after a week or 2 I started to get used to it. Some people said that they are to strict, but honestly it really was not. The rules were just to keep us safe, like no touching, no covert communication, and stuff like that. It taught me so much, like learning to just say the truth when i do something wrong and just come forward. I learned so much and I am so grateful I got to have this experience. I came out a whole new person. The staff there are great, and the supervisor Shawana is also amazing, I respect her a lot. She truly cares for us and I really looked up to her! The therapists there were also great. All the staff were really good with handling situations like bullying or and drama. When there was any drama the staff would quickly shut it down and we would work it out. We were not just trapped, we got to go on an outing every Sunday. We also would get take-out on Thursdays. I highly recommend this place. It is one of the BEST! I honestly did not want to leave!

Even though I’ve never been a client myself, I’ve had the privilege of working with their team for nearly 10 years—and I can confidently say they operate with a level of integrity, compassion, and professionalism that is rare in the rehab industry.
Ranch Creek Recovery is truly different. Their inpatient program is set in a private, luxury estate that provides a peaceful, dignified environment for healing. Other treatment centers claim to be luxury and cram dozens of people into a small home. The inpatient facility feels more like a resort or retreat than a clinical facility, which makes an incredible difference for clients who are going through the toughest periods of their lives.
What really sets them apart is their staff. This is a family owned and operated treatment center, and you feel that from the first interaction—warmth, genuine care, and a commitment to doing what’s right, not what’s profitable. Their small client-to-staff ratios mean every person receives personal attention, individualized treatment, and a level of support that larger, corporate-style rehabs simply can’t match.
In an industry where far too many centers focus on maximizing revenue, Ranch Creek Recovery stands out for doing the opposite: prioritizing people. I can say with complete confidence that they treat every client with dignity, compassion, and honesty. They are the definition of a high-quality, luxury, ethical drug & alcohol treatment center, and I’d recommend them without hesitation to anyone seeking real help.

Encinitas, CA | AToN Center is an addiction rehabilitation facility for adults aged 18 or older in Encinitas, California. They provide substance use programs that are tailored to an individual’s specific needs. Their services are a combination of group activities, medication regimens, and mental health support. Clients will participate in five individual therapy | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I cannot recommend AToN Center highly enough. Jim and Patricia founded AToN for deeply personal reasons, and their commitment to creating a supportive, evidence-based, individualized, empowering, and holistic treatment experience definitely shows. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe and supported, and I was treated with dignity and respect. The program emphasizes treating addiction alongside issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions rather than focusing solely on substance use. AToN Center embraces the notions that shame does not promote recovery and a single modality does not successfully meet the needs of every individual who is seeking recovery. AToN is unique in providing individual sessions with licensed mental health providers daily (Monday-Friday), which can include EMDR and IFS/parts work. The family session helped my husband and me move toward healing our relationship. In addition to having group and individual therapy sessions, we had the option of holistic sessions including massage therapy, yoga, personal training, acupuncture, mindfulness/meditation, sound bath, hiking, and (most importantly ;) pickleball. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the chef-prepared meals are delicious and made with care (so much so that I gained 5 pounds haha). Most of the staff seem to have been touched by addiction, and their compassion, curiosity, and encouragement shine through. As a mental health professional, meeting and connecting with other professionals who struggle with addiction and trauma was such a validating experience. Because of horror stories I had heard about other residential treatment centers, I was frightened to go to AToN, but now I couldn't be more grateful (including that my insurance covered treatment). If only this program was available in every state; the world would be a much better place.

There are experiences that change the texture of your life — and then there is Aton. I came here not knowing quite what to expect. I am leaving a different person. Not a repaired version of who I was. Someone new. Someone I actually recognize.
I have been in all sorts of expensive therapy for twenty years, yet I have never worked with clinicians and staff members of this caliber. The excellence here is real, but what makes it rare is that it lives alongside genuine, unhurried care. It sort of felt revolutionary to discover that people like this exist.
The clinical breadth is extraordinary — EMDR, IFS, CBT, DBT, ACT, hypnotherapy, and hybrid methodologies that meet you exactly where you are and help chart your own path forward.
The group sessions deserve their own mention. Capped at six people, they never feel like group therapy in the way you might dread or see in the movies. Each session presents real tools you can actually see yourself using in the the real world, neurobiological explanations of the brain-body connection, Melinda's amazing jokes, and honest conversation about what it actually means to recover, not simply abstain.
But Aton understands something most treatment centers don't: healing is not only a mental act. The holistic modalities — massage, acupuncture, personal training, physical therapy, private yoga, and hypnotherapy — are not amenities. They are medicine. And they invite you to receive all of it in a luxurious residential estate setting with lushly landscaped grounds that are, frankly, breathtaking.
And the food — I am a committed, health-conscious eater, and Aton's epicurean program is world-class. Not a single lunch or dinner repeated. Breakfasts that feel abundant. And all dietary needs or preferences accommodated.
I came to Aton to work on myself. What I didn't expect was to fall into a relationship with myself — and leave with self-love for the first time. That is not a small thing. That is everything.
If you are considering Aton: go. Let these people love you and remind you that you are everything!. Whatever version of you arrives, something truer, new, and exceptional is waiting on the other side.

We especially appreciated the small group setting (only about six kids), which allows for individualized attention and meaningful peer connections.

Ermias was great with and Rafa the chef made her laugh and smile. (I’m not sure I can compete with his cooking!).
Thank you to everyone at Cole Ranch—you truly changed her life.

My daughter’s mental health symptoms showed up at age thirteen. It seemed like overnight we went from having a typical child who enjoyed spending time with family, playing with friends, reading books, going on outings to just wanting to die. It was a very scary and confusing place for our family. I tried and tried to find providers who could help her. She went to multiple providers and programs with little change. After our insurance changed, we were able to start treatment at Evolve. From the very beginning, I felt that we were in good hands. The staff are well trained and the program is well designed. My daughter’s behaviors and our family’s communication patterns changed dramatically. After four years of feelings as if I had lost my daughter, I have my daughter back. I’m grateful that the providers at Evolve have extensive knowledge and experience with teens with mental health issues, and we finally got the help we needed!

Evolve did wonders for our teen. I'm sure it's hard for them to get reviews as this is such a private matter. The whole process is utterly heartbreaking. You don't end up here because you wanna be here. That being said they worked with us as a family so well. I really liked that. They involve you in the treatment and try to ensure that you will have the tools necessary to help your child continue on their path of healing. The path is BUMPY, and it heartbreaking. I remember graduating out of program thinking I don't know if I am ready to do it without them. They helped us navigate tough topics and issues our teen would shut down on us with. Helped us see each other's sides. Helped our teen see themeself. When we graduated out were ok and we did move forward on our own. As a family we are so thankful for the staff at Evolve and the forever impact they have made on our child's life. The skills they shared, our kiddo still uses. Our kiddo really had a connection to the staff. There was also a pet lizard that meant a lot to our kiddo. There's so much I could say about this place. But the biggest is just two words FOREVER THANKFUL.

Del Mar, CA | Casa Palmera, in Del Mar, California, is a luxury, 12 ste-ofucsed drug and alcohol rehab for adults offering medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis care, and inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), sober living, and aftercare programming. Dedicated services are available for young adults, e | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I spent six weeks at Casa Palmera just recently. The whole staff was attentive to my needs no matter what hour of the day it was. I had an opportunity to get to the bottom of some of my personal issues and I learned a lot from other patients during group sessions. Everyone there seemed to have a lot more in common than was said and our connections we were making at the time I was there strengthened recovery. Casa Palmera was responsive to my inquiries and needs. I was inspired by the way their team creatively boosted group engagement.
The handling of contraband became a personal hassle I experienced, but every time I needed something from my contraband, the staff handled it professionally and mindfully. I am a tech savvy individual myself so I communicated that to staff and an arrangement was met to help accommodate that part of who I am. Things like that made me feel great about being there.
I really enjoyed the outing I went on to play kickball and drive alongside the beach. Holy smokes, I didn't think it was possible to come out of that six weeks with a new perspective on recovery, but it happened and I'm feeling much more motivated to continue. This felt like the acceleration I needed to have in my recovery to stay on the rails.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals there and have no complaints on that whatsoever. Coffee was always out when it was scheduled to be too.
Casa Palmera hit the ball out of the park the whole six weeks I was there and I'm pretty sure they will continue to do so. I have every confidence that the next patient going into their care will have a positive experience that they can recall on for a lifetime.
The whole staff are all great at what they do and love what they do, which is very important to me. I could also see that the whole staff holds themselves to a high standard and high level of discipline, which is what I want to continue to do for myself and family.
My mood swings were taken seriously and cared for appropriately. My medication was quickly adjusted to ensure that I was keeping on the right track as well. This made for a smooth transition back to my primary psych with Casa Palmera's updates to my medication.
The 24/7 approach to treatment enabled me to make up for lost time and I would go back again in a heartbeat if need be.
I highly recommend Casa Palmera to anyone that needs to be at a treatment center, no matter what stage of recovery you're in.
Many thanks,
Jacob L.

When I think back on my experience at Casa Palmera in Del Mar, I get a peaceful feeling because when I was there, I felt safe and cared for.
It is a wonderful treatment facility and the best thing I ever did for myself!
The facility itself is very peaceful with multiple courtyards, fountains, and a koi pond where we went to journal or meditate.
The staff members are outstanding.
Starting with the lead therapists, facilitators, and behavioral techs.. to the yoga teacher, housekeepers, and kitchen staff. I felt like everybody was so kind and compassionate. The therapists were top notch, where they really try to fit people with the a therapist to match their needs
Casa incorporates a variety of practices to benefit recovery. There are AA/CA/HA, meetings; Refuge Recovery, Trauma, therapy, music, therapy, meditation, yoga…
For special outings, there are beach days, hiking, horse, therapy, etc.
it may seems like a frivolous detail for some, but having three meals a day and snacks prepared for me every day, and having my laundry done for me so I could focus on my recovery was the icing on the cake.
I am a local, living in the area and there are so many of us in the recovery community who went there At various times, some people more than once; and we’re still like a big family Who love and support each other
There are going to be people who complain about it, but I think most of those people are the ones that were in there not of their own accord, and found fault with everything. It’s not a 5-star hotel, which some seem to expect when they come.
It’s a beautiful and loving recovery facility where they love you into health so you can leave there with the tools to start your lifetime of recovery. They give you the reins to take responsibility and take action for your own recovery when you leave.

Villa Kali Ma truly changed my life.
When I arrived, I had absolutely nothing left — I had hit rock bottom. Through the care, compassion, and dedication of every single staff member, I was able to begin healing and rebuild my life. The team at Villa Kali Ma guided me through some of the hardest times I’ve ever faced with a level of attention and understanding that’s rare to find.
The variety of therapies offered — EMDR, individual therapy, group sessions, art therapy, and holistic practices — helped me work through deep and complex trauma while reconnecting with my body and spirit. Daily yoga, a nourishing diet, and a beautiful, peaceful environment all contributed to my recovery. I also lived in the sober living house, which provided even more structure, safety, and support.
One of the most incredible parts of this experience is the community of women I met. We continue to support each other through alumni meetings and ongoing connection long after treatment. The staff here genuinely care — they show up every single day ready to help, to advocate, and to stand by your side in your healing.
Villa Kali Ma is truly a magical place. It changed me on every level, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am today — nine months sober and happier than I could have imagined — without this program. If you’re considering where to go for help, let your search end here. Villa Kali Ma is the place to be.
