If it wasn't for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. Also thank you all the other counselors and teachers for your amazing support through one of the most difficult times of my life.

JOSE, PETE, MARIO AND NADIA along with every member of the staff is ABSOLUTELY UNDER PAID FOR THE CARE THEY PROVIDE, THEY NOT ONLY LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE (NO EXAGGERATION) BUT THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE FAMILY FOR THE SHORT TIME I WAS THERE, I OWE MY LIFE TO THE WHOLE ENTIRE STAFF, if it were not for paradise I know I wouldn't be alive, the words THANK YOU and GREATFUL do NOT suffice what that staff means to me and what they are worth, you have a TEAM OF NOTHING BUT ROCKSTARS THERE THAT GO ABOVE AND WAY BEYOND WHAT THEY NEED TO, THEY NEVER DO THE BARE MINIMUM TO GET BY BUT INSTEAD THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU MATTER, LIKE YOUR SOMEONE SPECIAL AND THAT IS PRICELESS, when your a recovering addic you already have no self-esteem, self respect or self worth but the staff helps you not only recover but they also help you get all the self worth, respect and esteem back as well, I could go on forever so I'll leave it with this, PARADISE ISN'T JUST A REHAB / DETOX FACILITY BUT ITS ALSO A PLACE THAT TREATS YOU LIKE YOU MATTER AND AS A ADDIC THAT MEANS EVERYTHING!!! THANK YOU PARADISE STAFF!!! I LOVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU

The people that make up the team at Brightquest are some of the most compassionate, patient and caring people you’ll come across. Simon in admissions takes the time to understand what’s going on with your loved one and how to get them from point A to point B. He really cares and takes the time to understand the whole picture. Rey is one of the client care coordinators at Brightquest and he takes the time to build rapport with each and every one of the clients. You will be able to quickly tell Rey has a huge love for simply helping people.

Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding.
Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators.
In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared.
Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer.
Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.)
I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion.
Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all.
At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

All staff had made me feel incredibly welcomed and even the chef, Fred. I will never forget about the memories I made here with clients but staff as well even if it was a hard time of my life, out of any treatment center I had visited this one will forever be my favorite place I had gone to. Not to mention the therapists Ashely, and Linda were so kind to everyone and incredibly funny. Before Evolve we tried other programs for my son.. I was at the point of giving up my right to him because I couldn't do it anymore. Residential was my last try. My son had outbursts, Aggression Anxiety, depression. We had try Therapy psychiatrist multiple doctors, calling the police, 72-hour hold. Nothing had worked. My son slowly started to try at Evolve. It wasn't easy. Now that he is at home he says it helps him out significantly, the food that the chef made was one of his favorites. The program had activities for them throughout the week. He says he gives Jules' therapist a hard time but over time he learns so much from her. How to handle and cope with his emotions how to self-regulate. Lorenzo was the teacher that they have there he encouraged and pushed my son to want to be better. All the Staff members are amazing. He has been home for 3 weeks now he continues to do well. He is active in the swimming team, attending a mentorship program, seen a therapist and a psychiatrist.

Great location, very organized, therapist Kristin and psychiatrist Dr. Chou were great. Chef Fred was amazing, but they need to do a better job feeding the kids when Fred isn’t there, especially given what these places charge. It should be 1st class across the board. Not to spoil the kids, but it’s a stressful time for them in recovery, and their food options should be vast on the weekends. They worked with me to have flexible visitation because I was coming from out of state.

Our 16-year-old son attended Evolve Adolescent Behavioral Health at their Mount Helix location in La Mesa for approximately eight weeks to address substance use and other mental health challenges. From the very beginning, the communication from Evolve was outstanding. The entire team was consistently kind, compassionate, and truly seemed to have not just my son’s best interests in mind, but our whole family’s as well.
Our family therapist, Emily Bell, was wonderful — supportive, insightful, and a real asset to the team. My son’s primary therapist, Mariah, was also fantastic and really connected with him. Both therapists were instrumental in helping our son make meaningful progress.
Evolve offers a very structured program based on evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The program blends group therapy, individual therapy, and experiential activities such as surfing and equine therapy, which really helped keep the teens engaged. They also take the kids on outings into the community to practice the skills they are learning in real-world settings, which I thought was an incredible aspect of the program.
While my son was initially very resistant to attending, he quickly found that he enjoyed the program and learned valuable skills he continues to use at home. The daily structure, along with the point system they use to encourage participation and good decision-making, really helped motivate him to stay engaged.
One thing that stood out to me was how much Evolve involved us as parents throughout the process. Through weekly family therapy and regular updates, I always knew what my son was working on and felt like a true partner in his treatment journey.
The only minor downside was some noticeable staff turnover during his stay, including a new educational consultant and changes in the nursing team. However, I can understand that working in this environment is extremely demanding, and it did not significantly impact the quality of care our son received.
Overall, our experience with Evolve Mount Helix was extremely positive and truly life-changing for our son. I would highly recommend Evolve to any family seeking thoughtful, compassionate, and effective mental health treatment for their teenager.

My son recently spent 6 weeks at Evolve ,Mt. Helix. He received incredible care there. Alex, the nurse went above and beyond. She went out of her way to form a bond with my son! She kept in close contact with me when my son had to go the ER when he became ill . Taylor also took great care of my son as well. They both made my son feel safe and well taken care of!
Kristin (his primary therapist) did an great job with both individual therapy and family therapy.
My only real issue with the program was the food served at the facility. He was served high calorie /high fat takeout for a good portion of his stay as the chef was out. When I asked about it ,I was told by the clinical director that they were not required to follow any nutritional guidelines! I feel that part of the journey of getting well is nutrition. There should have been better arrangements when Fred (the chef ) had to be out.
As a whole I feel the program was a great fit for my son as they use DBT along with other treatments modalities.

Wow, where to start. When I first came to the program I was skeptical, like most, in thinking that I even had a problem or that my problem stemmed so deep into my childhood that I didn’t care to look at it anymore.
Quickly through the programs open mindset and welcoming arms, and through the teachings of Ron and David, I realized that there were a lot of things I was overlooking for fear of dealing with them.
I couldn’t have asked for a better recovery center to help me deal with my problems and show me what life is truly like on the sober side.
Keep up the good work 🙏🏼🤙🏼

AToN saved my life, and I don't say that lightly as someone who completed their program two years ago and has stayed sober since. Dr. Kevin's approach to clinical care is unlike anything I encountered in years of outpatient therapy. He has a way of cutting through the noise and getting to what's actually driving the behavior, without ever making you feel judged or reduced. The group sessions, the holistic work, the food, the grounds - all of it creates an environment where healing doesn't just feel possible, it feels inevitable. If you're on the fence, please get off it. This place is the real thing.

If you want what they have to offer and are willing to make the effort to get it I highly recommend Sharp McDonald center. The entire staff is beyond outstanding. Being alumni of 6 rehabs over the last 17 years, state funded and posh as £♡¿/<, this is, without a doubt, The Best. (notice the period)
If you're sick of being sick, call right fkn now.

San Diego, CA | Evolve Treatment Center for Teens, located in San Diego, California, is an alcohol and drug rehab center, mental health center, and dual diagnosis treatment center for teens. They provide residential services. Evidence-Based, Individualized Care Our treatment model is rooted in proven, evidence-based approaches, with a strong emphasis on Dialecti | Treatments Programs Payment Options | We are so grateful for the care our daughter received at Evolve Cole Ranch. She truly thrived, growing in confidence, accountability, and self-awareness.
The facility is beautiful and creates a peaceful, healing environment. There’s also a positive, uplifting energy—it was important to us that treatment felt like support, not punishment, and Cole Ranch delivered. We especially appreciated the small group setting (only about six kids), which allows for individualized attention and meaningful peer connections.
She benefited from both traditional therapy (individual, group, and family) and experiential therapies like equine and surf—she can’t wait to surf again!
Most importantly, she left with real skills she’s already using at home. We’re incredibly proud of her and deeply thankful to the entire team—especially her therapist, Charlie, who seemed to know exactly how to connect with her. Ermias was great with and Rafa the chef made her laugh and smile. (I’m not sure I can compete with his cooking!).
Thank you to everyone at Cole Ranch—you truly changed her life.

My daughter’s mental health symptoms showed up at age thirteen. It seemed like overnight we went from having a typical child who enjoyed spending time with family, playing with friends, reading books, going on outings to just wanting to die. It was a very scary and confusing place for our family. I tried and tried to find providers who could help her. She went to multiple providers and programs with little change. After our insurance changed, we were able to start treatment at Evolve. From the very beginning, I felt that we were in good hands. The staff are well trained and the program is well designed. My daughter’s behaviors and our family’s communication patterns changed dramatically. After four years of feelings as if I had lost my daughter, I have my daughter back. I’m grateful that the providers at Evolve have extensive knowledge and experience with teens with mental health issues, and we finally got the help we needed!

Evolve did wonders for our teen. I'm sure it's hard for them to get reviews as this is such a private matter. The whole process is utterly heartbreaking. You don't end up here because you wanna be here. That being said they worked with us as a family so well. I really liked that. They involve you in the treatment and try to ensure that you will have the tools necessary to help your child continue on their path of healing. The path is BUMPY, and it heartbreaking. I remember graduating out of program thinking I don't know if I am ready to do it without them. They helped us navigate tough topics and issues our teen would shut down on us with. Helped us see each other's sides. Helped our teen see themeself. When we graduated out were ok and we did move forward on our own. As a family we are so thankful for the staff at Evolve and the forever impact they have made on our child's life. The skills they shared, our kiddo still uses. Our kiddo really had a connection to the staff. There was also a pet lizard that meant a lot to our kiddo. There's so much I could say about this place. But the biggest is just two words FOREVER THANKFUL.

Jackson House Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center in Golden Hill, San Diego, saved me when I felt lost and hopeless. Years of struggling with addiction led me to their doors, where I finally found hope and the strength to heal. I genuinely owe my life to their program and the unwavering support they offered.
One of the best things about Jackson House is its aftercare program, led by Melissa. She is the heart and soul of aftercare. Her kindness and creativity make every Saturday morning alumni meeting in the park a safe place where we can be honest about our struggles and our victories. She has a real gift for bringing people together, and her commitment to each of us surpasses what I could expect. Whether you’re still in the program or returning as an alum, you’re welcomed with open arms and genuine care.
Melissa’s leadership has helped create a caring community where everyone feels supported. The Saturday meetings are more than just talking. Sometimes we share a potluck, play games, go on hikes, volunteer, or even spend a day at the beach together. Melissa organizes all of this with a lot of love and attention. She truly cares about our sobriety and growth.
I’ve been sober for over three years now, and I still look forward to these meetings every week. They are my anchor and my inspiration to keep moving forward. The support I’ve found at Jackson House, especially from Melissa, is something I wish everyone on this journey could have. I’m truly grateful for this program and the community that keeps me going. Five stars just isn’t enough!
