If you are looking for a true recovery community, supportive staff that have done the work themselves, healthy and satisfying food, and the medicine that only mountain air can administer, come here. Healing, helpful, and holistic. This program addresses the roots of addiction rather than addressing surface level symptoms. Expect to work hard but also expect support of the highest caliber.

I find this place helpful and am glad I was introduced to the program. I stayed at the transitional living also. I'm greatful for them. My only complaint is I was kicked out of transitional living because I refused to come back without my friend that ran to relapse. This caused me to break curfew by 5 hours. I was successful in my attempt to save her life. I'm not entitled to be there and would make the same decision every single time. Despite what they teach and claim to stand for my effort following those ideologies was met with hostility. I find the decision to be petty and technical showing no compassion. I have no regrets in my decision and hope they can live with theirs knowing exactly what happened and why. However I would recommend them any day of the week there are some really good people there.

Have had a great experience here so far! All of the counselors I’ve had interactions are helpful and kind. I find the all of the staff to be willing to make sure that you are assisted and have the appointments you need, etc. My sign up was easy and everything with court coordination has been fluid! All of the people in my groups are great and the atmosphere allows for sharing and vulnerability. I haven’t experienced any judgement from any one here from the staff or fellow clients! Also, the UA
testing is super fast and you’re in and out in no time.

I am very grateful for The Lakes. Everyone on staff was kind, patient and empathetic. We had a family member stay there and The Lakes changed her life and our lives for the better. They treated her like family and from the time she arrived to the time she was ready to come home... it was immediately apparent she was in much better health mentally, emotionally and physically. Not only did they provide her with help she sorely needed but they provide the tools needed to ensure success after as well with a more 'dual diagnostics' approach which I found VERY effective.
Now with life after The Lakes, she made friends with other guests there and has established a great support group. The Lakes approach encourages guests to develop friendships that people can carry after they leave. I've seen other treatment centers and this is not your 'typical' treatment center. This one has a much more 'family' oriented approach that will help you on multiple levels.
So THANK YOU to all the staff there... I feel like we got a new lease on life and we are super grateful for all your help. (Also... the food was excellent so kudos to the kitchen staff too) You just don't get that 'family vibe' anywhere else for a place like this and that's a key component to The Lakes success.
UPDATE: one year later and she is still doing great... not just great but the happiest and most fulfilled I've ever seen her. The Lakes really works... I am SO grateful for them.

As a family member of someone who attends the outpatient program I have to give 5 stars. Angela the program manager has been exceptional in my husband's care. She has bent over backwards to make sure my husband has a clear understanding of the process and even went above and beyond for him to get his needs met. She has always made time for him and that is rare for management to make time for a client. She really took the time to ease his fears and frustrations. To have my husband back and happy with life has been a long time coming and it is thanks to Angela. He also shared with me that counselor Diana is very helpful she is kind, compassionate and willing to always take time for clients even if they are not on her case load. These two employees are stellar. We have been to other programs and everyone seemed to busy and unable to take the time to explain things or help with any problems outside of their job description and both of these people have taken the time to sit with him and walk him through how he is feeling and to not give up. To see my husband smiling and happy again is so amazing thank you Angela, Diana and CRC for giving me my husband back.
The only complaint we have is that counselor Ann needs to be more compassionate towards new people especially but all clients that attend treatment there. My husband almost quit treatment because she was judgmental and rude. This type of behavior towards someone brand new in treatment could have had such an adverse consequence on a client. Maybe she is burnt out and if that is the case she needs to step away before she causes harm. Thank God Angela and Diana are there to keep the lack of compassion in others flowing from them so clients will stay to change their lives. Again, thank you CRC, Angela and Diana for all your help and giving our family back the biggest piece it had been missing for years.

I unfortunately started taking a substance that I believed was an over-the-counter supplement and didn’t realize the risks associated with 7-OH and kratom. After going through detox, I knew I needed additional support, and thankfully I found California Recovery Center through my insurance.
I’ve had an amazing experience here. I have a wonderful therapist I see weekly, and I’ve also had the opportunity to speak with the Program Manager (Angela), who has helped me tremendously.
I especially want to recognize Diana and Angela. They are two of the kindest, most compassionate, and caring people I’ve encountered during this journey. They genuinely make you feel supported and understood.
I’m extremely grateful I found California Recovery Center. Asking for help isn’t easy, but having the right people beside you makes all the difference. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for compassionate and professional support.

My name is Alicia and I have been a patient at the BAART Norwood clinic since May 2014 and seen it go through amazing growth and change! I highly recommend for anyone who is serious about getting into treatment to consider this program. The Director Mellisa is fabulous and truly does do everything within her ability to help patients on every level, Margo is the angel that works at the reception window she is knowledgeable kind and respectful Always to all the patients that come in. But my absolute favorite is my counselor Shay she is fabulous, she is always open to listening and guiding and helping as much as she can, and I truly feel she has my best interest and recovery at the forefront I never feel rushed or like I’m a burden and she is incredibly relatable and nonjudgmental which is huge when your trying to be honest with yourself and them about your recovery, your everyday life struggles and everything else that contributes to success when in recovery! But a big shout out to all the dispensing nurses also they have to put up with a lot sometimes and they stay focused and determined to get everyone dosed in a timely manner! I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for New Dawn. They truly helped save my life. Thanks to this amazing treatment center, I’ve been in recovery for over three years now.
This location is absolutely beautiful and feels luxurious! I was a client at the Fair Oaks location, but at the time the Loomis location (this location) was co-ed, and we often got to come here for group sessions, acupuncture, nutrition classes, and even to swim in their beautiful pool. The staff was always extremely welcoming, compassionate, and knowledgeable. You could feel that they genuinely cared about us clients, our long-term recovery, and our experience while we were under their care, no matter which site we were at.
The combination of individual therapy and counseling, group sessions, and experiential activities creates an environment where real change is possible while also allowing clients to enjoy the comfort and luxury of the facility, which makes being away from home a little easier. I would 100% recommend New Dawn to anyone who wants to grow, heal, and rebuild their life.

My counselor calls me on Wednesdays at 650am and that fine but that day I could not sleep at all so when I finally fell asleep I missed my call but I tried called back at 730 and no answer so I called the front desk they had someone call me and she talked to me for about 30 min and then said she had to go because she had another client but she never said I was going to be on stand by so I thought I was Good Friday comes around and I’m on stand by smh 🤦🏽♂️ but Friday I had an interview @1pm and I let them know I can reschedule and make it up but they did not care they had me wait till 1:30pm when my interview was at 1

New Dawn did what I thought was impossible to do. They freed me from my physical addiction to Alcohol. They provide a clean and safe professional and comfortable environment to do something that can be very I uncomfortable despite what the addiction of the person may be.
